Wolf shifter Gethin Lloyd still bears the scars from the mental and physical abuse he suffered at the hands of his old pack beta Robert Wilkes. Now that his abuser is dead, Gethin hopes to finally be free of the torment that lives on inside his mind, but the nightmares continue to grow stronger. When he meets his mate, the pull to be with him is difficult to resist, but he doesn’t want the sweet human man tainted by the filth that covers his skin.

Dewi Powell is haunted by memories of his first and only love, Toby ― a wolf shifter who walked out on him three months ago without as much as a goodbye. Still heartbroken, the last thing he wants or needs is to be thrust into another serious relationship, especially with another shifter, but when he meets Gethin and learns of their bond, his desire for the wolf overrides common sense. However, Gethin is a scarred and broken man and if they are to have a future together, Dewi must help his mate not only to live in the present, but to stop reliving the horrors of the past.

Lavinia Lewis

Lavinia discovered reading at an early age and could always be found with her nose in a book. She loved getting lost in a fantasy world even then. When her parents bought her a typewriter for Christmas at aged eleven, her fate was sealed. She spent hours dreaming up characters and creating stories. Not a lot has changed.

Lavinia is a Welsh Valley girl who has lived all over the UK. Today she lives at home in the small village in which she grew up, just outside of Cardiff, Wales, but ask her again tomorrow and it could very well be somewhere different. She has travelled extensively to places as far and wide as Africa, Asia, Australia, North and Central America and most of Europe. Although some of her books are set in Texas she has never stepped foot in the state but plans to spend time there in the near future. She is a proud Brit, but feels quite at home when visiting the grand ol’ USofA.

Although Lavinia is a huge fan of the romance genre, particularly M/M she will admit to reading anything and everything. She loves horror, a good thriller and if a book has the capacity to make her cry, well, all the better. She loves a gritty, angst-ridden, gut-wrenching story, but is more than happy to settle in with a lighter, fluffier tale. She loves a happy ending and the characters in her books have thus far been lucky enough to find one. She can’t guarantee that will always be the case. She has two cats and wouldn’t part with them for the world, even though they make her sneeze.

Lavinia also writes M/F romance under the pseudonym Amy Armstrong.

The end of book two I was really wanting to read Gethin's book. After starting it, I was not quite feeling it. Luckily that quickly passed as Gethin goes home with Dante while waiting on the council to decide his fate.

Seeing as Gethin's been abused, the sexual aspect doesn't come alive until well into the story. I also thought it was done very tastefully with Dewi leading the way.

The Toby issue was completely ignored however. Perhaps a typo but Dewi says that Toby was NOT his mate, which I tend to agree with. Dewi didn't seem to experience the same kind of separation pain from his 'mate' with Toby as with Gethin. Within a few pages in the first chapter where Dewi is first brought in it's said (from Toby's POV) that the Pack might not have approved of Dewi because they weren't mates. As I said, it COULD be a typo by the author...

I understand Ms Lewis self published this series.. This is certainly not a normal thing in her books for the typos I noticed. The BIGGEST ones were WRONG NAMES used! I remember Aled being used when it should have been Dewi. There is at least two times but I didn't make note of them while reading so couldn't be more specific.

All in all, I am fairly satisfied with how Gethin was handled.

I couldn't get past all of the wrong names and editing issues (was there a comma used at all?).

My heart broke for Gethin. I wished there was more about Dewi and Toby. All of a sudden he was fine? Didn't make sense. I would have thought Aled would have been in this more since he was Gethin's only friend.

I really liked the storyline, however, Gethin had been through way too much pain and grief (I found it difficult to read). He had suffered so much at the hands of his past pack enforcer, and it felt reassuring to me that Gethin had dealt with him. Dewi was Gethin's mate and although Gethin had felt too broken for a mate, Dewi remained persistent, extremely supportive and loving towards Gethin. The plot was nicely written and I just loved Dante and many more of the secondary characters. The ending was beautiful and very sweet. =)

So much awesomeness

Gethin is possibly the strongest character that I've read from this author. His past was pure horror, and rightly would have shattered a normal person's psyche. I loved that the council took his action seriously, but that they were also able to take his past into account when determining his fate.

Dewi was the perfect mate for Gethin and exactly what he needed at this very precarious time in his life. I loved that each man femme protective of the other.

I jumping into the series on book 3 so I didn't quite know the background of the pack, but it didn't matter. This could be a stand alone. I felt just awful for Gethin and was thrilled when he decided to take a chance on Dewi.
My only criticism would be they never addressed Dewi's past relationship with Toby to explain why Dewi reacted the way he did when he found out Gethin was his mate.

Liked the couple, I was glad for Gethin that he found love and happiness:)

But the glaring plot holes made me drop my rating:

I hope the series wont get even more worse...
