Detailed account by a WWI British officer of his experience in the Battle of Ginchy and his following months as a POW.

Having read many WWI POW narratives, some parts that were more unique were the detailed account of the battle prior to being taken prisoner, his out of body experience after being shot, and reference to POWs working and living outside of the camps.

A personal account of a blinded soldier's experiences both on the battlefield and as a POW during World War 1. This is a good account and will interest most history buffs.
