Congratulations author for your debut novel, it was a "Crunchy Read"...
In this book, Atul and Priya's "Love-Ship"sails on the murky waters of "Corporate world" which is often hit by an iceberg called "Corporate greeds and Dirty Tactics"...
From Atul's "Go-Getter or ambitious aspect " To Priya's "Mind blogging Strength and Courage" ....From Rama's, Lovely's and Veeru's Selfless Buddy-Ship To Sushil's evil and cunning sight....From The beautiful lakes of Bhopal to Gurgaon's hectic traffic jams...From GuruJi's positive Guidance to Corporate world's dark sights....From Woo'ing in "six evenings" to breaking hearts..From committing mistakes to rectifying them....this book is a Crispy read...
Lessons:-
:- A Child is brilliant when he/she is born, but as his/her personality begins to develop in a certain way, society starts categorising him/her as an achiever or loser....Just remember everyone is born brilliant so why to hamper or twist ur intelligence and innocence for the sake of others or with the fear of getting "Judged "
:-The key of happiness is finding the regulator of ur desires, once ur able to control ur desires and set up ur boundaries and limitations, and then u will b happy with ur achievements...
:-In this ever growing modern world everyone is blindly following Gandhi's principle of ("Don't Speak bad,Don't See Bad,Don't Hear Bad") definitely twisting it meaning for their own good greeds (Like,Even if u see something bad Pretend that ur blind , Neva open ur mouth against these so called "ethics people" acting ur dumb, and even if u dare to open ur mouth against these people they pretend to b a deaf") But Bapu forgot to add one more line to his principle that "Bura Mat Karo"
:-We think that behind every move or twist in our life there is that "divine power" hand ( like he is the catalyst which is always hidden but responsible for every new problem in our life ) but in reality its man and its inner self that chooses that path...
Positives :-
:- The way author has exposed the dark sights of corporate world is highly commendable
:- His understanding for human emotions is quite impressive
:- Language used was simple and understandable..Loved the Characters of GuruJi,Rama and Priya
:- Though Atul was trying to impress and proof his worth to the entire corporate world throughout his journey , his life harsh experiences portrayed in the form of this novel was kind off inspiring and "a lesson to be learnt for life"
Negatives :-
:- Its said that never mix ur personal and professional lives , i guess this is apt for this book to some extent ...The hustle bustle of corporate world where explained in details and as a reader i felt "that went a bit off track making the middle part a bit boring"..
:- This book starts with a bang on but than Love took the back seat as a the journey proceeds, i wish to read more of Atul and Priya's love story but as it is said "it depends on how u see it half empty or half full" so i can say there story was short but effective

P.S :-An Interesting and Effective Story with some Corporate "Tadka" to it ..

Rating :- 3.75/5

This novel narrates a modern day love story loosely , based in the cities of Bhopal and Delhi -NCR .
It is the story of ATUL who is socially called a below average student . The series of events which follow when he meets a naive ,intelligeng , beautiful girl named priya on his journey to his dream- destination . Cupid strikes at the first sight for ATUL which he dedicates his time to , totally unaware of the events which a meeting that barely lasted for half a day would bring atul chases his dreams , simultaneously making things easier for his lady love . They meet in bhopal for 6 days and romance , lust ,misinterpretations , betrayal and eventually seperation follow . ATUL loses some of his loved ones but moves on to make it big. Climbing on the steps of success , one by one , atul gets what he wants - power , money , reputation and grandeur , not to mention his inner peace on one of his projects he meets his long lost lady love - priya , but she is not the same anymore . She has picked up the broken pieces of her heart , nursed her heart , moved ahead and has become a high - profile corporate woman who refuses to give up on her self - esteem. Both reconcile with atul again shattering priya for reasons best beneficial to his seniors .. but his shoulders refuse to carry the burden of his mistakes and he confesses his deeds to priya , who gets another blow and loses her faith.
Atul is handcuffed and put behind the bars , but as destiny would have it , he is helped by his dear friends and things fall right in place giving way to what is termed as 'HAPPY ENDING'

Positive aspects !

The exploration of human aspects in a vivid manner is the finest trait of this book . It is written in such a manner that even a new reader would find it interesting . Adding to the glory of the book are the common-life aspects and practical situations which the author effortlessly narrates . It has a blend of various emotions in it which makes it relatable..

Negative aspects !

The book belonging to no glare is the highly noticeable fault ..it lacks fascination in the middle . The in-depth explanation of the tactics and terms of the corporate world may not engage everyone . At some places the book turns predictable.

My verdict..

A coin has 2 sides . Similarly there are both negative and positive aspects of a thing.
In nutshell this book can be read by anyone who belongs to the corporate world. It has a good start and ends regularly . It can be read while travelling or when you are pissed off. It kind of revives you and the conversations between the guruji and his shishyas provides you a new insight into life , some of the lines may change your thinking .
All in all this book will enhance your way of looking at things and you will ( if ready ) come out as a new person ..

Just Six Evenings
-By Tanmay Dubey

First of all, a special thank you to Author Paradise for this review copy.

Plot:

Just six evenings as the name suggests is the period that changes protagonist’s life. Sitting in the Police Station, he is revisiting the course of his life and the six evenings which has changed his.

Atul, a sales agent was working with an electronic retail store in Bhopal. His convincing skills have made him one of the leading sales executive of the store. While coming back from his hometown one day, he met a girl on train, Priya, with whom he fell in love almost at the very first sight. The train reaches its destination and so they both leave each other. His life in Bhopal is at its best with two of his friends and flat-mates, Lovely and Ramakant.

With an offer of MBA training which Priya was looking for, Atul writes her re-entry into his life. Spending time with each other all the six evenings that she was in his city, they eventually fall in love. But destiny has something else in store for him. Charu, a colleague from his office, the girl lovely is in love with, also loves Atul and becomes the reason for their break up on the day Priya was about to leave Bhopal. Also, some of the corrupt business deeds of Atul results him in switching his job and changing his city to Delhi.

Eight years later, Atul is a successful sales executive in one of the MNC’s. Corrupt and convincing, he was given a responsibility of crackling one of the biggest deals for their company by his boss. Life takes a U-turn and Priya makes an entry into in his life once again for six days.

What destiny has decided for them?

Where will Atul’s corrupt attitude take him in life?

Will Priya ever forgive him for his cheating?

What is in store for the take-2 of Just Six evenings?

Go through this love-corporate drive with an essence of love to find all the answers.

My Opinion:

Positives:

The story is crafted wonderfully and the best part about the starting is its Prologue. It makes the readers curious enough to remain hooked with the story till the end to unfold all the answers in left in the beginning. With nice narration and dialogue writing, this is crafted perfectly with accurate scene transitioning effect and grammar. Though the story is very much inclined towards the concepts of Sales and marketing industry, the writer has defined each and every jargon used in the story to make things clear to the readers who have no knowledge of Sales. Targeting corporate professionals, this novel will be equally loved by both teen-age and middle aged men. The plot is well thought of and being a Debut writer, Tanmay has done a fabulous job.

Shortcomings:

Started with an extremely slow pace, the book takes the perfect pace in the ending. First half which only deals with the Sales stories of Atul seems a bit boring up to a certain level. Besides this, the use of literature in this story could have elevated its level. The love story and the six evenings that changes Atul’s life should have been more descriptive instead of the deals which have been given more preference.

Final Opinion:

The story might lack literature, but at some points, the teachings it release in the form of Guruji’s words that we must think for our actions, otherwise life has its own ways of teaching us and that forgiveness is the most generous form of giving has left a positive effect on the ending. Nowhere in the story, will readers feel that this is a debut novel because the words chosen to describe emotions, love, lust corruption and corporate ethics and fraud are perfect.

All in all, it is a perfect blend of love, corporate politics, thrill and cheating. Read this enthralling story to unlock all the answers of this Sales executive’s love story. I can definitely say that Tanmay has a long way to go.

Final Rating:

Spoilers Ahead

Just Six Evenings by Tanmay Dubey is an intelligently crafted love story of two extremely different individuals. It has been narrated quite well. There are so many circumstances when a writer loses track of the story whilst narrating it in the first person. However, Tanmay has done it to perfection.
The story revolves around Atul. Despite being a protagonist of this story, we could easily relate with Atul, the individual. Especially the people who have ever worked in the corporate world would find Atul as a character of their office, or somebody close to them. Since I have worked in a hostile corporate environment for quite long, I do understand his part of the story.

Atul’s life takes a number of turns when he had to manage a number of things. He did not want to fail on the corporate frontier, and at the same time, he had found love of his life in Priya, whom he met in a train. (PS: The incident where they meet for the first time in a train is a perfect recipe for a Bollywood movie, with the Bengali guy adding to the humour).

As it has been mentioned before, the story takes a number of turns. From having six wonderful days with his love in a new city, the story takes upside down turn. Our protagonist faces a number of betrayals, and loses some of his most prized possessions and individuals in his life.
I liked the way it ended. The ending was not abrupt and it satisfied the reader inside me to the core.

If you are a corporate world person (or working in any office), then this story will attract you. I will recommend it to my reader friends.
Reading time: Around 3-4 hours (continuously)

Rating: 4/5

An extra 0.5 rating has been given as I personally have been touched by a number of aspects of the book.

Happy Reading! Cheers!

First of all, I want to convey my regards to Tanmay sir for giving me this pre-released copy of his debut novel and I wish him great luck for this book which is releasing on 14th feb and will be available on all leading online stores.

Now talking about my experience while reading ‘Just Six Evenings’. As I begin with it, I felt the friendship of Atul and his room-mates as really happening and it gripped my attention instantly. I enjoyed the train part too, that was awesome and then begins ‘Six evenings’ and frankly speaking that was boring except the last day. It will fetch your senses back. Then the story will flow smoothly with nothing to appreciate except the Veeru’s character and his encounter with the client at forest. (If I said something here that could be a spoiler.)

And then past came back to haunt him with just six evenings. That’s interesting and full of twists and turns. But I didn’t like so much use of technical stuffs to create the atmosphere of tension within the company premises. Being a non technical, I had to try really hard to fall in those situations.

Ending was nice. It ended the way it should end. The only thing which bothered me a lot was the novel’s length. I felt that it got stretched a lot.

At the end, my view over Just Six Evenings is that it’s an interesting read and doesn’t let you down.

I quite liked this book. Surprisingly I could not find a single spelling/grammar/language/ stylization errors in the book. Considering that almost all books that have come to me have a few errors, this was a pleasant surprise. Kudos to the editor!

While this is a love story, it has various other elements to keep the reader’s interest. It is a story of a young man’s climb up the big bad corporate world.

The starting of the story was quite interesting, you know this would be an interesting read. The plot and the characterization were above average.

This is the love story of Atul and Priya. Atul, a commerce graduate works as a salesman in Bhopal. He met a girl named Priya in train. Priya, an MBA graduate who comes for training in the same city. They fell in love from each other. Meanwhile, he met with Ahmed Ali as guruji and got influenced by him a lot. His friends Ramakant and Lovely played a great role in his life.

The story was bit boring but the twists and turning point comes in both of the lives in which the story makes the story interesting. Overall, it is a simple love story with a hint of newness in it which makes the overall experience of reading it beautiful.

I always used to refrain from reading those typical love stories.. yeah you heard it correct. I am not a very romantic person… but this particular book had everything from love to corporate practices to selfless friendship.

PLOT :-
Atul Shukla, a young, successful executive, has been arrested by the Gurgaon police. As he attempts to find some comfort in the dark confines of his cell, Atul revisits his life and the six evenings that changed its course.

Or will corporate greed destroy their chance for a happy ending?
Just Six Evenings is a modern-day tale of love, lust and ambition in a corporate India that shines at the expense of the dreams it tramples under its feet.

HIGHLIGHTS :-
· The first para of the book itself creates curiosity in your mind that how come such a well to do man lands himself in such a situation Which is obviously a good sign creating the right amount of suspense.
A Child is brilliant when he/she is born, but as their personality begins to develop in a certain way, society starts categorising him/her as an achiever or loser. Just remember everyone is born brilliant so why to hamper or twist your intelligence and innocence for the sake of others or with the fear of getting "Judged "! So true. Isn’t it every step we take in our lives is driven because of fear! Mostly fear of what others will think if we don’t abide by them.
The USP of this book along with it being a full package. Is the GURUJI. His words of wisdom are practical! loved those conversation with guruji
The dark secrets of the corporate & corrupt world will make you flinch in disgust but sadly it’s true. The other side of Sushil Rajput makes you feel disgusted at his so called ethical practices. He doesn’t even feel a little bit of hesitation in betraying Atul whom he had treated like his own child.
I loved those excerpts from Priya’s diary! Particularly the one where she describes her father’s death. How she wanted to wail but couldn’t as she had to be strong! This describes how Priya is a courageous women who is brave and sticks to her moral & values.
The poem lines “ you and I “ is really a sweet poem full of emotions “ like the first ray of light that ends the night days glowed with your love when you stepped into my life”
I loved the ending “all’s well that ends well”.
A power packed book where you can find every emotion. Loved it

My own Reviews of the book" Just Six Evenings"

Firstly i would like to say that, cover page of the book is so attracting and so is the story of the book.
The story presented in the book is so feel like real. It gives completely look. Honest to say, I liked the book vey much because it has so simplicity that I can't

forget. The way friends meets each other, laugh with each other, drink with each other. I really like this. Even we do like this in our lives.
Secondly I like the character of "Atul" and "Priya" very much. I am in love with these characters.

Only six days and in those six days Atul and Priya meets each other after office. Together they date, roam with each other. The way Atul proposed Priya, i

liked the way. They kissed each other.
The way they love each other, I like the way.

I felt these emotions strongly while reading "Love" "Crying" "Thinking about the characters" "Thinking of friends and frienship". How romantic is to roam

with a girl and propose her. It's a awesome feeling for anybody. Love is most beautiful feeling.

I liked the whole novel. I was thinking sometime as if I am "Atul" and I am making love to my girlfriend. If you will read this novel you will feel the special

love. Seriously, This novel deserves the 5 Star ratings or even more. From my side it is 5/5 ratings.

Writer has done a tremendous job. His writings are touchy and touchy. Some parts of this book are very very touchy. Think yourself as an lover to someone

and say to yourself, "Will you leave your love", "Will you let go off your love" The answer will be "no" in most cases. It is true that love happens once and it

can't be forget. It will be remebers for years because you have loved someone so much. Really touchy novel.

Hat's off to this Awesome writer for writing this masterpiece. I seriously want to bow in front of this writer because he has touched millions of heart by

writing this simple cute touchy novel.

Again I want to say that, I was completely emotional and was having tears in my eyes. It is only because that I loved the character of "Priya".
Thank you "Tanmay Dubey" for crafting this beautiful novel.

I would like to give ***** *****for you and ***** out of ***** for your crafted novel.

The story:

‘Just Six Evenings’ is a story of Atul, a salesman and his life. The story begins with a scene where Atul is in prison. The author has incredibly well expressed Atul’s feelings, while he is in prison.

‘Why is a man wearing suit locked up in jail? What has he done?’ were the questions that popped up in my mind. I felt like reading it more!

And then Atul begins narrating his story. He speaks about his family, his failure at exams, his journey in landing up at a job in Tectronics, his best friends and the train journey which changed his life completely. He meets Priya in train and eventually ends up in falling in love with her. He tries to woo her by his sweet gestures and helpful nature.

Does he succeed?

Priya is a career oriented girl. After the demise of her father, the entire responsibility of looking after her family is showered upon her. She feels that love will divert her from her goal of having an awesome career. But Cupid does not spare her. She falls in love with Atul. Their love boat sails peacefully until Priya catches Atul while making out with Charu (his colleague at work) red handed. This marks the end of their love story and also Atul’s friendship with Lovely (his best friend and room mate).

What is going to happen next?

As time passes, everybody has moved on with life except for Atul. He is still guilty about his act. Destiny plays a strange game and Atul bumps in to Priya once again. He is placed between devil and sea for he wants a contract to be cracked. This contract will involve deceiving Priya, once again.

Will he go ahead with it? Will he beg for forgiveness? Does he cheat her, once again? Will their love find an happy end?

I loved about the story:

Priya and Atul’s dedication towards their work. (Except the act where Atul tampers with Priya’s laptop.)
Atul’s, Lovely’s and Ramakant’s friendship.
Guruji’s advices.

I did not like:

The use of corporate terms. (I am new to all those.)

P.S.: I really loved the simple narration.

I rate:

Cover: 3/5
Characters: 3.5/5
Story: 3.5/5

My overall rating for this novel is 4/5.

Review: Just Six Evenings by Tanmay Dubey
A good book is called good when it has all the capabilities to bind the readers with itself and by reading which the readers start loosening themselves in the story-line and they find themselves in the shoes of characters and enjoyed the whole story till the end and this book “Just Six Evening” has done the same thing to its readers. Tanmay Dubey has done a very great job. This book has all those qualities which can make any story a page turner, friendship, romance, thrill, corporate politics, lessons of life, the book has all necessary ingredients which has made the whole story-line so gripping that the reader could not felt bored for a second.
Story is all about an ambitious boy Atul Shukla who wants to prove his worth to the world. Though he is an average in his academics but is full of energy and potential to make it big in the life. He meets a girl in the journey and felt in love with her and from here his love story gets started. He also meets his Guruji who teaches him some lessons of life.
The story shows colors of true friendships, teaches lessons of life, essence of true love and sacrifices done by two people. It also shows the actual dirty picture of corporate world where the office politics, corruption, and malfunctions to achieve anything is a very normal thing. It shows that how some newbies who are eager to achieve more in their life could attempt any way to reach at their goal. All in this entire book is full of emotions, lessons and lots of thrill.
MY verdict:
There is no doubt that Author has a lot of potential to bind the readers with the story-line. So as Mr. Prakash Jha Sir said Indeed it is a very unique love story which has a lot of thrill, drama and emotions and above all it teaches some very important lessons of life. So this book is must read for all those who are searching an amazing book. Go and grab your copy soon!

This was my first trip through Mumbai‘s new International terminal, and I discovered to my chagrin that it does not have a book store! Since I had a few hours to kill before my flight, and I had just finished the last book I was reading, I was desperately looking for a good book. I found a store, hidden near one of the far gates, which had a few books on display – primarily multiple copies of Chetan Bhagat…but I found a slim volume by Tanmay Dubey called Just Six Evenings. Since the cover proclaimed a quote by Prakash Jha (“…a unique and engaging love story”), I decided to pick it up (and I finished it even before my flight left!).

The story is about a below average student Atul Shukla from Raipur, who ends up working for an electronics store in Bhopal, which he tries to pass off as a MNC to his friends. He meets a girl called Priya on a train, which sets into motion a relationship complicated by politics, corrupt corporate practices and Atul’s ego.

There are other characters which flit through the story – ranging from his roommates, a “Guruji“, his colleagues to his superiors at his new job – all of which shape his experiences with Priya.

The book is interesting overall – I could not put it down once I started. The depiction of small town, middle class life in India is fairly accurate.

Nevertheless, it comes off as a weaker version of a Chetan Bhagat book, with a similar plot and predictable ending. However, Dubey keeps it simple, with no heavy prose and theatrics. One thing I would have liked is a little bit more development of the supporting cast – for example, the roommates’ characters were just begging to be highlighted.

4 out of 5 Stars.

Some days before, I wrote like this...

'Everyone is trying to emulate Chetan....But, many failed because they have not understood their originality.'

With lot of apprehensions, I started reading the book 'Just Six Evenings' written by Tanmay Dubey but was pleasantly happy and moved after reading this book. Here comes an author close to Chetan Bhagat without losing his originality:-D

Atul meets Priya during his train journey, spend five evenings to win her love, but loses her and love on sixth evening. After some years, their paths cross again only for just six evenings. As Atul could not succeed with his love this time too, he manipulates Priya without her knowledge to try and win a contract for his company. What happens next?

There are many characters worth mention for their individuality. Be it Lovely, a calm and cool Sardar, Ramakant, a spiritual oriented south indian, Shukla, trying to win two mangoes in one stone, Veeru, a daring colleague or Shushil, the greedy boss. The author would have spent enough time in sketching these characters.

Above all, comes Ahmed Ali, a spiritual healer, reminds you a mix of Saint Kabir and Shirdi Baba. Hang on...He appears in four occasions only to contribute to the twists and turns.

I was also attracted by the way in which Saint Kabir's Dohas been used (only two though).

Dukh me sumiran sab kare,
Sukh me karney koy,
Jo Sukh me sumiran kare to
Dukh kahe ko hoye

Everyone prays in times of suffering, if you pray in good times, sufferings will never touch you.

Go ahead and purchase a copy of Just Six Evenings (available in Amazon) and immerse yourself in Dhil, Pyaar, Ishq, Mohabbat and Tanhai :-)

Story and plot.
Just six evenings' is a love saga of two different personalities, in which a below average student, Atul, fell in love with an intelligent, ambitious girl, Priya. The story describe the days spent in Bhopal and the events that transforms the feelings of love to misjudgments to hate. It's interesting to see the way story moves forward.

Review.
The narration is done beautifully, making story connecting. The situations described in the story are practical and believable and hence the reader may find vivid emotions written in the book, relatable. Editing job is impressive, not leaving behind any grammar mistakes. Kudos.

Only drawbacks a reader may find is the predictability of the story, which arguably, occurs only at a few instances. Another thing that may irk a reader's eye is the depth of corporate world terminology explained by the author.

Apart from all this, the book is an amazing one time read and thought provoking. Happy reading!

Book Cover.
Book cover is attractive, showing two persons at the top and their shadows going apart. The story has an important part in corporate world, hence the building and the briefcase in the cover is justifying.

“That line between love and lust was thin as a whisper.” “Just six evenings” is a pot boiler with all the essential ingredients of love, trust, betrayal, lust, money, sacrifice, realization, frauds and destiny. The keywords are self sufficient to describe what the novella is all about. The cover of the book and the title are matched perfectly. The plus point is the twist and turn of plot. The way the “six evenings” return in Atul’s life is the turning point because it is then when Atul gets a second bite at the cherry. The author has successfully maintained the suspense but as the reader draws closer to the end of the book, the plot becomes very much predictable.
The part where Atul’s professional life has been described, is boring. Probably, the marketing stuff and the project information befuddled me a lot. However, the characterization of the protagonist has been done nicely.

The narration is lucid and the dialogs are short and crisp. The printing quality is superb and the storyline is engaging.

Overall, a good book with which the readers can relate themselves.

Best wishes to the author!

Read author Tanmay Dubey's debut book, “Just Six Evenings”.
It's not a literary work, on the contrary has grammatical mistake & needs serious editing.
But the author bowls with his simplified narrative.

Its a story of small town guy, who is average in academics & becomes a sales executive. He meets a girl & falls in love in 6 evenings. Get separated, than when they meet, he again needs to prove himself again in 6 evenings.

The story is so honestly told, it tells the dreams of all small town guys, your first love, the reality of corporate culture, about true friends..

Cons of the book, it occasionally goes in explaining trivial & basic terms like key account manager.
And most imp the ending is too abrupt. But the story lingers in your mind even after reading. And if you belong to a small town, am sure few of the incidents mentioned happened with you too.

My take, not amazingly, brilliantly written but written with heart.

Just Six Evenings is one such book which you would like to re read and dive into it, plot of the story is brilliant. Characters of the story lead and supporting both are portrayed wonderfully that clearly depict author’s hard work and dedication.

What makes just six evenings stands out is the sensible approach that the author took in characterizing Atul’s life, his struggles, Guruji’s Gyaan etc.

I really wish the author consider the remarks that he gets for this book so that the corrections can be done in the upcoming editions.

Rating: 4/5

Nice story about a young and ambitious guy who goes the unethical way to earn success and loses his love twice in the process only to redeem himself by surrendering.
spirituality, corporate pressures, love, life and lust. all combined in one.

loads and loads of grammatical and spelling errors. needed better editing and the writing could have been better.

overall, a nice read.

Just Six Evenings is a twisted and crunchy love-tale of Atul and Priya, who being in the corporate world, keep on climbing the stairs of success, but at a moment, something struck them ,something so strong and powerful, and magical called love, that made them forget about everything.A story comprises of love, lust, professionalism, friendship and spirituality,a combination good enough to make your day.
