Thoroughly enjoyed this book. The poetry was beautifully written, precise and full of imagery. The author showed his skill through the beautiful lines. The short story was intriguing and well done- something that could easily have been made into a novel. I look forward to reading his other work, and have added this book to my collection of favorites!
This collection of poems plus a short story was interesting. The poems were mildly evocative, I imagine with further readings they would become more so. I'm not really sure if I'm qualified to pass judgement on poetry though, because I've never really "gotten" it even though the reactions to the poetry I turned in for class in college received very positive feedback.
The short story I feel a little more qualified to pass judgement on. It was largely well written, so I was disappointed by the brevity. While a longer version of what we got would have been quite boring, as it stood it was entertaining. I would like to see what this author could do with something longer.
