Interested readers should read the first book in the trilogy first (A World Called Camelot). Characters and plot conflicts in this book follow closely on the first. Only marginal connections to the Arthurian tradition explain the title. The first-person narrator is an Adjuster for the Galactic Foundation. The Foundation has assigned him to investigate the acceleration of an evil alien influence--the Kaleen--on Fregis, a planet the Foundation calls Camelot because of its cultural resemblance to earth's legendary Camelot of fifth- or sixth-century Britain. Several significant creatures populate the planet and influence the action: meegs, vuuns, gogs, dottles, and Pug-Boos.
