Elementary Penitentiary

Rate this book
My book focuses on students I have encountered as an elementary school assistant principal. I put a little twist on real events by portraying these students as inmates in a prison. I collected teacher referrals, letters from parents and students and suspensions I administered. I profiled 19 of these students with behaviors such as stabbings, assaults, and sexual conduct. I give my readers visualization they are the educators taking the tour through the prison. The tour takes place where all of the worse students are housed called the Elementary Penitentiary. On the tour, I'm the narrator depicting a Willy Wonka type character showing potential teacher candidates the students who act like real prisoners trying to see if they can handle students in urban schools. I begin weeding the candidates out in funny scenarios in an attempt to choose the most qualified teacher to build my new school.
