Good story that simply gets more boring as you read along. The story was well written, but I got the impression the author didn't know where to go with it, so it sputtered out. I like the author's other works, but this one was a disappointment.
I am a fan of Bedford's work. His characters are interesting and his plots fast moving. Although a good entry by him, it isn't my favourite as the plot isn't as engaging as his other works.
This is a very well-rounded book. Very detailed but not all about the detail; at times slow but the story is always moving forward. I found the last third of the book to be very engaging, I had a hard time putting it down. It is the first adult science-fiction book I believe I have read, and for the most part I really enjoyed it. The end definitely left me wanting more. More story! What happens next?! I want to know.
Something of a disappointment. I read one of his other books, "Time Machines Repaired While-U-Wait", and found it to be funny, imaginative, and fast paced. Not so this book. While it started out good, it soon turned into a depressing slog with a rather pathetic main character.
