William Voltz was the pen name of German science fiction author Wilhelm Karl Voltz.

He was a member of the 'Perry Rhodan' writing team since 1962 and served as a longtime head writer for the series. He is considered a major - and lasting - influence on the character of the franchise.

Other pseudonyms include Detlef Kaufmann und Ralph Steven.
