A really interesting and exciting read, took two days to finish and kept me intrigued at what would happen next. Lots of emotions felt about the main character and enjoyed how the main character came into her own as a strong female lead. Would recommend for fans of Scottish crime, really realistic and would love to read more from this author.

I would rate this a strong 4.5. I really enjoyed it and read it in one sitting, didn't want to put it down. The depiction of the realities of domestic abuse was well done and I liked that he used an 'unlikely' victim. It helps to show that any woman can be a victim of domestic abuse.

I found it hard reading this book as Lucy’s story is written so well. Honestly one star less as I didn’t care about the other crime element- I just wanted Lucy to get her justice.
