Those actually in the industry don't recommend, and I agree. There are few secrets and those few are trademarked. The rest is simply the difference between a manufacture and a home-sewer.
I didn't ever learn to fit clothing to the form of the wearer, so now I am filling in this gap in my education by reading helpful books like this one. This book is well-organized and has many good color pictures to help the seamstress understand how to really make the details of an outfit perfect. A very helpful book.
