A Thousand Love Letters

Rate this book
Ayan falls in love with Sara at a tender age. He, however, decides to follow his dreams. In desperate moments, haunted by love, he writes to Sara love letters which he never sends her. Seven years go by but he never stops loving her or writing the letters. Mezz is completely anti-love. He believes that all people wear masks, and their true nature is only revealed at moments of complete crisis. Being the opposite of Ayan, they complete as well as contradict each other, as best friends. Sara, oblivious of Ayan's love or his existence, believes that true love exists and awaits her. She is focused, intelligent, and an avid reader. A Thousand Love Letters is a new-age romance dedicated to all lovers whose love remains unacknowledged and forever a silent dream. Will Sara ever read Ayan's letters? Will they ever meet? Will Mezz give up his ideologies and embrace the risk of love for once?

This book is strange romantic fiction, which actually is not a love story at all. It's a love story in a background, with the actual content being the strife of an intelligent being - actually two intelligent beings. One is Mezz, the other one is Ayan. There are always two positions around stupidity - one is of the ring-bearer and the other is the audience. Mezz is the former and Ayan the latter. This novel is called anti-love because the protagonist decides not to chase the girl; he instead writes her love letters - which he never gives her. To be honest, this is a novel on perspectives. A must read.

Shwetabh Gangwar has gained popularity in recent years with his youtube channel mensutra, which is a community of highly focussed, motivated titans. He has his own way of interpreting things in a logical as well as practical sense. The book revolves around the life of three people, Ayan, the lead character, His friend Mezz, and Sara, the girl Ayan admires. It's a platonic love story, where Ayan being a writer, has a simple lifestyle and keeps exploring the truths of life and keeps writing letters to his beloved.

The book did feel boring at times when the narrator goes deep into philosophies.
Overall the book does kindle the curiosity to understand life, love, and purpose of life and things like that.

Shwetabh sir is a great "life changer" for me. He has Manas to change my thoughts about the life. In this book he has reflected his perspective view about love and actually explained the human psychology a little bit. But I would recommend you to read it after you learn more about Shwetabh sir. Because if you are a person looking for a normal usual love story then this is not for you. And if you want to change your perspective view about the life this is one of the best book to read.

I really enjoyed it. beautiful story, ayan, mezz are two main characters. And they both have their flaws. I don't think this book is a love story at all. because Ayan never loved the girl (Sara), he was in love with ideal version of a woman. anyway read the book, it's interesting. It isn't complex and fun to reed.

The deepest, most moving, and philosophically rich novel that I have read. Its impact stayed with me for long. The movement of the characters, their psyche, their psychological make-up- it made me switch off from everything and just reflect. It is definitely not everyone's genre. But the book is something you will strongly relate to if you like deep & reclusive, armchair philosophy kind of content. Also, if you have ever been in love. Yes, that too.
