Alexis’s father tells me he’s going to ruin me. He does not want his pop star daughter or her brand associated in any way with the bad boy of baseball.
I make it my mission to prove to her father that I’m not the bad guy he thinks I am. But he takes things a few steps too far, causing major issues that will affect my upcoming baseball season.
It’s going to take a grand slam to make everything right again, but I will not give up on the woman I’ve fallen for.
GRAND SLAM is the final book in the VEGAS HEAT: BASES LOADED series. This series must be read in order.
Lisa Suzanne is an Amazon Top Ten Bestselling author of swoon-worthy superstar heroes, emotional roller coasters, and all the angst. She resides in Arizona with her husband and two kids. When she's not chasing her kids, she can be found working on her latest romance book or watching reruns of Friends.
Oh Lisa, Lisa, Lisa! The way you brought this story to fruition and completion - just wow. Wow, wow, wow! This 5 part story has had me chewing my nails off in anticipation of what the next flip of the page will bring me and you never disappoint. This fifth book, the ending for Alexis and Danny was soooooo perfect and good and great and smexy and amazing and wonderful and stress-inducing and riveting and "OMG I did NOT see that coming!" ... like wow!
Yes, yes, I'm rambling. But for anyone reading this, you're not going to start this series with this book. This is the 5 in the series and you must read it in its entirety, and you'll want to. This series is most definitely up in my top 3 favorite Lisa Suzanne stories. Danny and Alexis' story has been such a rollercoaster: it's been stressful and beautiful, it's been sweet and bitter, it's been so riveting and addicting, and the curveballs that Lisa has thrown at us, OMG my poor nervous system! She just about gave me an anxiety attack a few times. But I talk myself off the ledge, "Lisa always brings it around, she always brings it around - even though it doesn't seem possible, she'll give them a HEA" - and this was the HEA book. And omgggg I loved this book so. Book #4 and this book, book #5, are my favorites in the series.
And if you've gotten this far, you know that this is a story of pro baseball player, first baseman, Danny, and singer/actress Alexis and the story of how they fall in love while overcoming such crazy obstacles. It's incredible. I so-s0-so highly recommend this series!
What a fantastic ending to a great series. We finally get to see how Danny and Alexis’s relationship works out and it’s done with some “edge of your seat” suspense within the storyline. So many times I didn’t think it possible for them to get their HEA but this author came through for me and gave me exactly what I was hoping for.
I didn’t think anything would ever change my mind on a few characters but I can sure eat my words now and all that shows is great writing by Ms. Suzanne.
If you haven’t started the Vegas Heat: Bases Loaded series, do so. You won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend not only this book but the rest of her books as well.
Finally the last book of the series and the happily ever after DJ and Lex deserve. Let me tell you everything was amazing and romantic. They stood for what they need and want. We can say all the bad guys got what they deserved too. I love the other players here, Cooper and Rush specially. Love Rush and Anna relationship too. And Tracy and Gregory awww they are so perfect together too. I love them and all the love in this book, obviously after all the bumpy road bow we can appreciate the sky. The epilogue was cute specially for my Cooper Noah!!!
This conclusion to the Based Loaded edition of the Vegas Heat series was everything I was hoping for and more. All the open questions were answered and couple got everything they wanted. We obviously expect the HEA but how everything went down, the redemption was just 🤌🏻. Lisa never ceases to blow me away with her creativity and stories. I can’t wait for the next one!
In the last book of the series, Danny and Alexis both face their fathers and the consequences of their fathers' actions. This series has kept me very invested in Alexis and Danny and the relationships around them. While the couple felt doomed from the start, their devotion to each other was swoon worthy and made for an excellent series.
I listened to the audiobook and loved the narration by Avery Reid and Scott Rose. They are perfection and brought the series to life!
I was provided an ALC for this book by Lisa Suzanne and @Valentine PR

Fifth and final book in this series and it is a great wrap up of the entire series. The book opens with Alexis getting ready to perform at her Christmas Eve concert. Her and Danny are in front of everyone for first time not only as a couple but first time as husband and wife as well. After the concert, they both must confront her dad. Her dad explodes on both of them and says that he will ruin Danny over this and tries to fire George but Alexis says she hired him so her dad cannot fire him. Alexis settles her nerves when she sees Danny on the side stage watching and supporting her. After the concert, Alexis tells her dad that they are actually married when he tries to pressure her to marry Brooks again.
They head out to Las Vegas after her concert because they want to be alone for Christmas Day. Even though they don’t have any gifts for each other, they manage to “unwrap” each other for their spicy Christmas holiday.
Then they have decided to buy each other houses – one in Las Vegas and the one in San Diego where they got married. Only to find out that Gregory was not able to secure the San Diego house because dad has frozen her assets – or so they think.
As the story unravels, we find out that Brooks is behind her money issues and the D3 merger that is being pushed onto her and her father.
Alexis and Dan continue to do some digging into the financial issues and find out so many misappropriations by both her dad and Brooks. They decide they will help rescue her dad from his issues but will hang Brooks out to dry. That scene in her dad’s house is excellent karma in action. Danny gets a call from his mom that his father is on his death bed. Danny decides to forgive him and this inspires Alexis to forgive what her father has done as well.
As they continue to figure out what their help to her dad looks like, Alexis decides she need to think about repositioning herself in the industry. She takes on a new manager and a new agent. They are able to secure her an interview with Jolene Nash so that she can formally make a statement about her and Danny as well as the mess that happened with her dad’s company and why she ran from the marriage to Brooks.
The epilogue to this book is the wedding of Cooper and Gabby from the Vegas Heat series and I love how Lisa Suzanne’s books crossover.
Author Lisa Suzanne is here delivering the conclusion toVegas Heat: Bases Loadedseries with the finale to Danny and Alexis’s story inGrand Slam. Given the ending to book 4Bases Loaded, book 5 has us jumping right back in Danny and Alexis’s final journey with no time having past in between.
Having ridden through a whirlwind adventure together throughout the series, there was still more to come, despite this being the finale. With everything finally coming to a head for Danny and Alexis. It was no surprise that the chaotic-ness that was Danny and Alexis’s life, on top of the one they were building together within their relationship made for somewhat of a bumpy ride in the conclusion. With drama that bought about major tension, especially surrounding the growing suspense, given all the secrets, lies and deceit that involved and revolved around the secondary characters in the form of so called family and friends, as well as ups and downs, some in the form of unexpected twists. Author Lisa just kept on giving within the storyline from all that was said and done.
Grand Slamdelivered in not only finally divulging all the answers to the many questions raised throughout the series. With all finally being laid out on the table in front of our eyes. Whilst revelations brought some surprising and some to be expected information to light for Danny and Alexis, considering what they learn from the twists that were thrown in, it resulted in tying all the loose ends that had been left hanging until now.
My only critique would be what happened between Alexis and her dad. It would’ve been nicer to see more development between them, not only because it seemed a little rushed IMO with how it all came together for them. But also it could’ve made for giving Alexis’s characters the moment to showcase her growth within their relationship, taking the reins and saying what really needed to be said. Mostly because there hardly seemed to be any change from her within their relation, especially given how easily she gave in and fixed it between them.
In the endGrand Slammade for a pleasant read with author Lisa Suzanne not only tying up all the loose ends, but closing the chapter on Danny and Alexis’s story once and for all with the delivery of HEA worthy of the couple. Particularly from the bonus epilogue. All the whilst creating an overall adventurous ride to Danny and Alexis’s life and relationship throughoutVegas Heat: Bases Loadedseries, ultimately resulting in a fun, entertaining, sweet and emotional time.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
*Thank you to WordsSmith Publicity and Lisa Suzanne for providing me with an ARC of this story. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
3.75⭐️/ 2🌶️
After all the highs and lows, the obstacles that both Alexis and Danny had to face in order to get their happy ending, the conclusion in their story finally came to an end. Over the past four books, this was a story that was fast paced, easy to read, and had a little bit of everything to keep me entertained. A sports romance with a baseball player falling in love with a mega pop star sounded like fun, but add in the bits of drama that prevented them from being together, and you got a story that a little more.
If you’re looking for a book with a fast paced storyline then I would recommend this one. There were times that I wondered if all of what Alexis and Danny went through could have just been put into one story, but it was actually better to spread out the story into several books instead. Easy to understand and follow along since each book focused on specific aspects of what Alexis and Danny dealt with along the road to being together.
I went into this series intrigued. There were certain books within this series that I enjoyed more and others that fell flat for me, but as a whole I would say I liked reading this series in between reading other books as a plate cleanser so to speak.
Danny and Alexis were likable characters, and I liked seeing how they faced the challenges set before them together. The communication between Danny and Alexis was great, there was no negativity nor misunderstandings between which I was thankful for. The romance was good, a mix of passionate, sweet, and loving. While I wasn’t obsessed with Danny and Alexis I did like them enough to care about what happened them. Little bit of spice, hotness, and lots of chemistry between Alexis and Danny.
Overall, with all that Alexis and Danny went through, it was so satisfying to FINALLY see them win, get their share of happiness, thriving in their respective careers, and continuing to build upon their future together. If you like stories with sports romance, bad boy/good girl trope, forbidden love, a dash of drama, fast paced plot, romance, spice, and likable characters then, you’ll enjoy this book and the entire series by Lisa Suzanne.
What a Grand Slam of an ending to this incredible but sweet Audiobook series!
🎧AUDIOBOOK 🎧 Grand Slam the final book in the series Bases Loaded by Lisa Suzanne
NARRATED by: Avery Reid and Scott Rose
This is the conclusion of the series as Avery Reid and Scott Rose did excellent job in this story by breathing so much life and energy and soul into these characters! Well done the narration was amazingly entertaining and fantastic listening to.
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️such a good finish to a fantastic series that held me captive from start to finish! 3.5🌶️🌶️🌶️the spicy moments were amazingly good but not a lot. 10.🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️🎙️Excellent performance by Avery Reid and Scott Rose .. I couldn’t get enough of these two performances, it was amazing.
🎼💙⚾️💙🎼 As usual the story picks up right where it left off.. as Danny And Alexis finally came face to face with her Father and the man he wanted her to marry.. the battle for Alexis Freedom and her and Danny Happily Ever After is still being threatened but that’s not the only fight on their hands as another secret is discovered regarding Alexis State of affairs and her Father and his business partner hand in it all.
But through it all Danny remains supportive and loving a fact that’s not lost on Alexis as she worries that he won’t stick around with all the mess she is causing them. But Danny is just simply the best man ever as he deals with each situation and just simple love and support his woman , no matter what may come their way.. and let’s just say it’s one Grand Slam that the both handled together!
Wonderful ending to this series as Always Lisa Suzanne wrapped this one up good along with the incredible performances by Avery Reid and Scott Rose !
🎼💙🎼 My only draw back is that I wanted more of these two characters as we get a glimpse of other favorite characters from other series.. I also wanted more of Gregory and Danny mom! I just wanted more, but the ending was sublime .
Be sure to catch the entire series as this story was simply so good as these two characters grew! Definitely recommend listening to this series if you haven’t already!

Grand Slam is the 5th and final book in The Bases Loaded series and so all loose ends are tied up and we eventually learn if Danny and Alexis finally get their happy ending.!! Alexis is taking back control of her life and standing up to her Father who has always dictated her life for her...Setting her up to marry a man she doesn't love being one of the worst of the things, especially since she is in love with Danny Baseballs Bad Boy. Her Father Raymond is on the war path when he finds out what she and Danny have done, destroying any chance of a merger with another company...But nothing is what it seems there is more to Raymonds motives than he is revealing,he is hiding something!!..and so is Brooks. Danny shows an even more loving and supportive side to himself in this book,he is there for Alexis through all the turmoil they have to face. Even when Raymond threatens to ruin him and causes him to injure himself,Danny wants to protect Alexis. The threat to Danny's career is very much in the limelight as he will be sidelined for months, but not being able to play does not hurt him as much as if he would have to live without Alexis. Will their relationship withstand all the battles they have to fight in order to have the life they want together. I loved listening to this story narrated once more by the wonderful Avery Reid and Scott Rose who for the final time make their final performances as Alexis and Danny. They were both just Fabulous as they told this story with feelings expressed perfectly for each scene, with clear and strong voices...I enjoyed listening to them both very much. This has such a satisfying ending to Danny and Alexis's romance oh and I adore Gregory and was so glad he found his little bit of love and romance too. Lisa Suzanne has written a marvellous ending to a addictive series of books with equal amounts of steam and romance I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it. A Lovely story. 5 Stars.
This is not the first series I’ve read by this author, and it hopefully will not be my last. I have absolutely loved everything that I have read from her and find myself, no matter what series I’m involved in, rushing through my chores and other obligations to get back to my iPad to find out what happens next.
I fell absolutely in love with Danny, and it was so obvious from the beginning that this relationship he shared with Alexis was nothing like any other he had experienced in the past. She was, without a doubt, the woman that he was destined to be with, and I felt the same about her and her feelings for Danny. They grew as a couple. And even though they were fairly young, their communication skills were wonderful, and it was obvious that no matter what was thrown at them, no secrets were kept, and they would only get stronger as their time together continued.
I was extremely angry with Alexis‘s father and thought often times while reading how she could at the end, forgive him for the things he did. Danny was quite wonderful to put all of the hatred her father spewed at him aside, offering his help in the end.
The 🌶️ level was acceptable, not too hot but it certainly kept my attention… Lol.
The only thing I wish would have been different is that in the epilogue, I would have liked for it to have gone further into their married lives. I would’ve loved to have seen them welcome a baby into their home, but I guess I will just have to conjure up that image in my head.
Lisa Suzanne, you are a fabulous writer. Your descriptions of places and people and situations are detailed and always puts me right there in the thick of things. I look forward to my next series from you, where you take me on another exciting and heartwarming adventure.
This is Book 5 of the Vegas Heat: Bases Loaded Series!

This was the perfect ending for Danny, Alexis and the gang. Take a chance on them, you won't regret it. Lisa has again put us back together with the perfect little bow 💞 An HEA fought for and well deserved.
This is the popstar x athlete romance we’ve been wanting for. I’ve read other works with similar plots and been sorely disappointed. They always leave me with the ick. The Vegas Heat: Bases Loaded series by Lisa Suzanne is what we’ve been begging for, and honestly, what we deserve. Alexis and Danny(the bad boy of baseball) met when she was doing an appearance in Vegas. The two were struck by one another and started a flirtatious friendship as she continued a tour and he finished out the season. They make plans to meet up to see if this spark could be something more.
Here is where it gets crazy. Her dad owns the record label, and not in a cute, supportive way. But in a “I’m the puppet master” kind of way. To make matters worse, her manager is also her fake boyfriend. And Not in the cute romance book fake dating way, but in the for appearances way. Brad is fine, but he’s not her boyfriend, that’s for sure. At some point along the way the media assumed they were together and her father ran with it. Afterall, it comes in handy when his dad owns a major management company. These two are looking to be powerhouses in hollywood. And what’s the best way to avoid questioning surrounding two major companies merging? A marriage of course. Ugh.
I know I already said, “this is where it gets crazy,” but it gets wild. The plot twists just kept coming and I was struggling to figure out who was the real villain in this situation. This series was a lot of fun. Lisa Suzanne’s Vegas Heat series is phenomenal. I highly recommend you start with Coop and Gabby’s story in Vegas Heat: The Expansion Team. It wil give you a little more context to this Vegas sports world and is a super cute, tension filled, heartfelt, and spicy story.
What a way to end a series but if you have read this author before you know she always ends with a Grand Slam. I know I know cheese pun but fitting. O absolutely loved the entire series again. I was invested from beginning to end I was screaming at my kindle many times while reading but I don’t think you are truly invested in the story if you don’t get a little frustrated or if you don’t fall in love with the characters along the way that just means the author has done an amazing job at giving us a way to engross ourselves into the story right along with the characters so we go along through the emotional process as we read. Well Alexis made me really and I mean really frustrated. I hated that she let her father take so much control over her but in a way I wanted to understand her. I loved Danny for being patient and understanding with her because let’s be honest he could have walked away yes it would have been painful but he could have said nope I’m not putting myself through all this pain and walked away. These two went through all of the bases they were thrown some very hard pitches. They strikes out a lot but they kept on coming up to the plate and batting over and over again trying for that Grand Slam. They round to home plate was very rough but they made it and I loved the journey I read and went along with them as I read. I absolutely truly enjoy how this author gives us these great books and can’t wait for more. You guys need to read her books if you have not yet I can’t recommend this series and any of her series really you will too be hooked.
There is so much happening in this book. Alexis and Danny head to her big show and of course dear old evil dad and equally evil Brooks are waiting for them as they exit the limo. Alexis has had far too many years of her father's manipulation and verbal and emotional abuse. Will she finally pull on her big girl panties and stand up to him? Danny being steadfastly by her side will hopefully help. Finally all secrets are revealed. I wasn't really surprised by most of them. Her forgiveness toward her father...I really want to have a good talk with her about being a doormat. I could not have been so kind and forgiving toward him after his treatment of her the last 12 years. Gregory and Danny's mom - sweet. Lisa Suzanne did a good job of writing a series that will keep you engaged and wanting more. Danny is a very likeable guy with a big heart and a great family supporting him. Alexis is a bit of a train wreck because of her relationship with her father and her continued charade with Brooks. Together Alexis and Danny make a very likeable couple who you want to see get that happily ever after.
On a side note....spoiler...in the epilogue it made me uncomfortable when Danny goes from one orifice into another, especially considering Alexis' condition. Even without consideration of "the condition", it was a very unhealthy move. I was cringing thinking of all the germs being deposited and possible affect it could have.

This book series was perfection. Danny is the epitome of a man that will always protect his woman. From marriage to the way he stands up for Alexis is such an emotionally happy feeling. Alexis in the middle of a fight for what she wants in life, a fight to be her own person, and to obtain what control she can. Even more of a struggle she is having to fight this battle against her own father and her other arch nemesis that has played some dirty hands at his benefit. Danny reformed bad boy has since dedicated himself to Alexis and stands by her side the whole way with every intent of protecting her. Their love strong, unfaltering, and the hot and sexy as can be. Lisa keeps dishing out the perfect book husbands in each series and this is no exception. Avery Reid and Scott Rose finish out the narration for this series and I couldn't have imagined a more perfect group to be able to bring us Danny and Alexis. Voices that are so easy to listen to, emotion pack and purely talented.
Blurb: Alexis's father tells me he's going to ruin me.
He does not want his pop star daughter or her brand associated in any way with the bad boy of baseball.
I make it my mission to prove to her father that I'm not the bad guy he thinks I am. But he takes things a few steps too far, causing major issues that will affect my upcoming baseball season.
It's going to take a grand slam to make everything right again, but I will not give up on the woman I've fallen for.
Grand Slam is the 5th and final book in the saga of Danny Brewer and Alexis Bodega- AKA the Vegas Heat: Bases Loaded series by Lisa Suzanne.
Not going to lie- I low key loved how these two never had that third act break up- they just simply take the blows together and keep moving forward. And since this is the last book of the series there are a few pops of drama but it also is a lot of wrapping that drama up in a pretty bow and setting off into the proverbial sunset.
And a lot of sexy times- can't forget that 😉
In true Lisa fashion she also has managed to redeem or at least bring forgiveness for two of the "villainous" characters. I personally think that some of that forgiveness was thrown in a little too early- or maybe I'm just a bit of a grudge holder, but for the absolute chaos that was created for both Alexis and Danny I think that they should have lived with that shame just a *bit* longer.
Obviously with this being romance and the end of the series I knew that we were finally getting the HEA- and it played out even sweeter than I could have imagined. Danny is definitely not his former persona of the bad boy of baseball anymore and while Alexis is quite still America's pop princess I love that she can finally live and love out loud with the guy that no one would have expected.
Grand Slam I could not read this book fast enough, then afterward I had to read it again. I was invested in these characters and how they clicked with each other. All the fun things in a new relationship, the bacon and donuts, thoughtful phone calls and yes, the booty calls too. With matching and complimentary tattoos, they could not be more romantic. When you are famous you don’t get much ‘down time” and these two made the most of their time together. They supported each other. Raymond Bodega and Brooks Donovan schemed to profit off of Alexis and succeeded. How do you forgive someone when they have squandered your fortune? You want to love your father and that path means forgiveness. Both Danny and Alexis had obstacles to overcome with their fathers. I loved and appreciated Danny’s mom insisting on Danny getting an education in addition to his sports. This really came into play in this book. Danny is more that just a baseball player. Alexis takes a stand with her father and the Talent Agency. It was a wonderful summation in this book. I liked Gregory and Danny’s mom together. Anna and Rush look like they might find happiness too. Sigh… the wedding of Gabby and Cooper. Vegas Heat: Now that we have had the Coach (Troy), Third Base player (Copper), First Base Player (Danny), who’s next?
Grand Slam (Vegas Heat: Bases Loaded #5) by Lisa Suzanne is part five and the conclusion of a five-part contemporary sports romance serial. The story follows the relationship between bad-boy professional baseball player Danny Brewer and “America’s Sweetheart” pop princess Alexis Bodega after they meet when she performs the National Anthem on Opening Day. Told in first person dual POV, this installment includes the following tropes: celebrity (pop star w/ baseball player) and forbidden romance.
This book picks up right where the previous one ended, with Alexis and Danny arriving for her holiday performance, where they come face-to-face with her father and Brooks for the first time since they secretly married. As expected, her father is livid. But why? Why did he want Alexis to marry Brooks? Why is so upset about her refusal to do so? What’s really going on?
I enjoyed this fifth and final installment of Alexis and Danny’s story. It was fantastic to see Alexis continue to stand up for herself and not give in to her father’s manipulations. And I loved the way Danny supported and helped her through everything. In this installment, everybody’s secrets are finally revealed, long-time questions are answered, and all loose ends are resolved. A satisfying ending.
I love how this book brings everything together and we find out that things definitely aren’t as I thought they were. Danny and Alexis truly work together as a team to get to the bottom of so many things. I loved how they stayed true to each other while also helping to uncover some machinations of others that definitely weren’t on their side but not for the reasons I thought they weren’t.
As we get closer to the beginning of Danny’s season and Alexis being back on set to finish filming her movie, there’s no lack of action in every way possible in this book. There are some true jaw dropping moments some of which I was doing an internal fist pump because some of them are just so well deserved and leave some people hanging by a thread! The connection between our H/h is as strong as ever and their love scenes are HAF!!
Ms. Suzanne has done a fantastic job of bringing their story full circle. We also get a couple of easter eggs which I wasn’t expecting but absolutely adored. Overall, I freaking loved this entire series and getting know more of Ms. Suzanne’s characters. She definitely knows how to keep a readers’ attention and I’m just a little sad I won’t be spending time with Danny and Alexis this week. But I’m also positive I’ll be listening to this series again now that I have all five audiobooks. Avery Reid and Scott Rose do such a magnificent job of bringing this story to life. Their ability to bring every aspect of this book to life from Danny and Alexis to her father, his mother and Alexis’ bodyguard. I could listen to them all day long!! I highly recommend reading and/or listening to this series because you’ll fall in love with these characters as much as I have.
What an incredible finale to the Vegas Heat: Bases Loaded series! The fifth and final book wraps up everything in a way that will leave you cheering. Alexis and Danny, our beloved couple, are finally stepping into the spotlight together, but it's not without its challenges. Their unwavering support for each other shines through, making them one of the most relatable book couples out there.
Alexis faces some tough confrontations with her father and Brooks, and the outcome completely took me by surprise. The revelation of the true antagonist and their motives will keep you on the edge of your seat. Despite the hurdles, Alexis and Danny tackle everything head-on, though not without some setbacks. A significant development puts Danny out of commission for a while, but he seizes the opportunity to make the most of his time.
Meanwhile, Alexis finds her voice and takes charge of her future, standing up for herself and her marriage. As the pieces fall into place, you can't help but feel satisfied seeing everything come together so seamlessly. Lisa Suzanne has a knack for tying up loose ends with a bow, leaving readers feeling fulfilled.
Though I'll miss Danny and Alexis, I have no doubt that we'll cross paths with them again!
This is the final book in the series and I am completely destroyed that it’s over as I absolutely loved both Danny and Alexis from the very beginning. The witty banter between the two along with all the spicy scenes and drama kept me turning the pages and reading in one sitting.
I loved that Alexis once she finally crawled out of the box she was shoved into for so long, stood up and said “I am my own woman – hear me roar” and wouldn’t be going back into that box. I physically clapped that Danny was right behind her listening to what she wanted, cheering her on and just in general being a great supportive partner.
I really struggled with the fathers in the story, both Danny’s with the drama from the earlier books to Alexis’s father and the crap he was pulling and how he was treating her like she was still a little girl. It was nice to finally get clarification on that whole storyline but to also to get closure with the fathers.
Side characters - - absolutely cheering on Danny’s mom Tracey with Gregory and Danny’s sister Anna with Rush! Hope to see them continue on somehow even if just glimpses in future books.
Overall a fantastic end to the series and highly recommend to everyone!
The 5th and final book in the Vegas Heat: Bases Loaded series is Grand Slam. What an ending for Alexis and Danny's story. Danny's family and friends support them and help anyway they can so they can have some days to be together and for the honeymoon. They both have to deal with Aexis's father who is livid to say the least when they tell him they are married. Alexis finds her voice and takes charge of her future, standing up for herself and her marriage. Danny doesn't back down from her father but wants to protect Alexis which results in his wrist getting broken. Danny feels that there is something very wrong with the whole situation of Alexis and her money. When she can't buy a house that would normally be no problem. Danny tries to figure out who is responsible for what happened to Alexia's money. It becomes clearer after Danny overhears a conversation between her father and Brooks. Twist to the story is who the bad guy really is. Even after they learn of the extent of deceit Alexis and Danny vow no one will tear them apart and they begin with ideas to build their future. In this book secrets are finally revealed, from Danny's family and co players. Wonder who story gets written next and can't wait to read it.
It’s baseball season and the final book of Vegas Heat: Bases Loaded is just in time for it. Does Alexis(Lex) and Danny (DJ) get their HEA? YES! FINALLY! I was surprised by how it all went down. I’m happy to report Danny gets his man card back!
What I loved about this book. Finally, Danny takes control of their situations. Yes! I repeat finally!! However, it cost him, but it all works out in the end. Finally, Lex finds her backbone and goes against everything her father demands of her. I loved the way they fight for each other in this book. I also love Danny’s compassion for others. It’s real.
Things I wish it had more of. I wish there was more angst and a feeling of anger towards the individuals that played a role in why all this was happening to Lex. Why she was being controlled and who were pulling the strings. I just needed a bit more feeling in all these books. I hated her father and his but we find others that could have really changed my opinion of this series. I’m not sure it ever hit “Rapunzel Vibes” for me.
With that being said, I love Lisa’s Sports Romance stories. This book was the best of the series and was happy how it all came together in the end.
Wow, where do I even begin with this final installment? I am utterly devastated that it's come to an end because Danny and Alexis have become like old friends to me. From the very first book, their dynamic had me hooked, and this conclusion just solidified my love for them.
The witty banter, the steamy scenes, the drama - it all came together in a perfect crescendo that had me glued to the pages until the very end. Alexis's journey of self-discovery and empowerment was incredibly inspiring, and seeing Danny stand by her side, cheering her on, was nothing short of heartwarming.
The father figures in the story added layers of complexity that kept me on edge throughout the series, so finally getting closure on those storylines was immensely satisfying. And let's not forget about the side characters - I was practically cheering on Tracey and Anna's budding romances alongside Danny and Alexis's journey.
Overall, this may just be my favorite final book ever. It tied up all the loose ends beautifully while leaving me wishing for more glimpses into their lives in the future. Highly recommend this series to anyone looking for a rollercoaster of emotions and a truly satisfying conclusion.
✨️Thank you to Valentine PR and Lisa Suzanne for my gifted ALC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the fifth book and the HEA ending for Alexis and Danny that they deserve.
Danny and Alexis' story has been such a rollercoaster: it's been frustrating and beautiful. The curveballs that Lisa has thrown during this series. This series is a story about a pro baseball player, Danny, and singer/actress Alexis and the story of how they fall in love while overcoming such crazy obstacles.
Per usual the story picks up right where it left off as Danny And Alexis finally came face to face with her Father and Brooks. Alexis has fought for her freedom and for their Happily Ever After.
Danny remained supportive through it all something that is not lost on Alexis. She suffered ultimate betrayal, at the hands of her own father, soon comes to light, Alexis begins to spiral. After the truth come to light her father extends an olive branch and wounds begin to heal.
Danny & Alexis are the ultimate power couple. Perfect for one another from the very start. Lisa has again put us back together with the perfect HEA.
Avery Reid and Scott Rose brought life to the characters once again!
A Grand Slam in baseball is defined as a “homerun that is scored with bases loaded”. An apt title with all the open issues in this story tying together into a resolution in the end:
a. Brooks and Alexis engagement b. Alexis issues with her father as Agent/Manager c. Brooks and Alexis’ father (Raymond) and the push for the marriage And Danny is at bat for solidifying his relationship/marriage with Alexis as the designated hitter in the story.
With Danny (and Alexis) leading the charge (at bat) toward controlling their married life, with the help of assorted old friends from past books in the series to relatives whose side stories add spice and depth to the central theme. This is my favorite of all the Lisa Suzanne series I’ve read. It has heart, and a storyline that isn’t always a cliffhanger about their loyalty to each other. Instead, it’s the ancillary characters who are providing the angst and impact to their happiness. Danny and Alexis are dedicated to each other with their relationship growing organically.
Grand Slam wraps up the Series, that has the reader “root, root, root for the home team” as we sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame through all 5 books.
