There is so much information in this book! The book is about the nutritional genocide of people of African descent. I do not think everyone is aware of this, but it is definitely true the way I see it. I think the main premise is to reveal the truth and get African Americans to make better food choices because we need to know that our bodies are different from other people's bodies and that is ok. Naturally we are built a different way,just like many groups of people.
He began the book by saying that "many Africans believe that if you honestly report about what Caucasian people have done, you hate them, and that you are putting them down and being negative. It is absurd to hate someone for having a disease like diabetes, cancer or White Supremacy." I think that is a rather strong comment, but it is so true. When we try to speak reality, we are shunned by our own people! It isn't hate, it is the true history! I have the same boldness running in my veins. In this country we are taught to run and hide and be something that we are not. It doesn't have to be that way. In order to grow and diversify, we must first acknowledge these truths.

One of my top recommended books to get an understanding of how much of our practices we get from Europeans. I look at Europeans totally different after reading this book. Embrace your Afrocentricity and get to know thyself.
