My Best Friend's Grumpy Brother

Rate this book
He was enemy #1 – a grumpy critic set to destroy my career—Until the night we got stuck together, and he kissed me.

And just wait until my best friend finds out the hunky dad I’ve been shacked up with is her little brother.

I better start running now!

The plan was to quit my job and open my own restaurant.

But plans changed when some faceless food blogger started coming after me.

I knew I had to find this miserable little internet troll before he destroyed my rep.. And my sanity.

Ok. I’ll admit it.

Showing up on his doorstep to confront him on the verge of the biggest snowstorm of the year was NOT part of my master plan.

But love can be confusing.

And it was only a matter of time before this drop-dead gorgeous mountain man and the precious little girl that called him daddy made me question everything I thought I knew about him. And myself.

Note to

This book is a sweet, non-steamy, small-town contemporary romance and is free of profanity and explicit content (unless you count the occasional smoldering kiss). While this particular book addresses the topic of grieving the loss of a loved one, you can rest assured that there is a HEA (happily ever after) ending in store. This book is also a stand-alone. There will be no cliffhanger ending or unanswered questions. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

MC: Felicity (chef) and Ryan (food blogger)

Thoughts: This is a quick and fun read with a happy ending. Felicity and Ryan really only spend one full day together before deciding that they have a connection that they want to last a lifetime. Yet, in that one day they do talk about a lot of fairly deep things. This book is less than 90 pages and as such it is not able to fully develop or dive into the very real issues that both of the main characters are dealing with (grief and not measuring up to a parent's expectations) - so some readers might not like this. However, it is a short story and as such it is a very good one.

This is a sweet romance, with a kiss, told in first person perspective from both Felicity and Ryan.

Story notes: Cat named noodle, Daughter Riley, Lucy's best friend and Ryan's sister

The Cat and the Snow Storm -
This was a fun book to read, with the witty banter between a grumpy sourpuss and his feisty nemesis, precocious little girl and a pampered cat, whose life was filled with lots of cuddles. This was an interesting story, that had me hooked from the first page and kept me eagerly turning the pages until I read the final word, but I was still left thirsty for more. This is the first book I have read from this author and I enjoyed it, so I will definitely be reading more of her books in the future.

I received a copy of this book free and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a quick easy read at only 89 pages. I do wish it would have been a little longer. I think there needed to be more time for Ryan and Felicity to not only get to know each other but to start sharing secrets. I mean what she said about her father and what he said about his wife are not small details to one’s life. They literally shaped these two individuals and I think that a deeper storyline would have given these two more justice.

I did love that the cat’s name was Noodles though.

A great book if you want a fun, quick read.

I love Felicity's POV. She's pretty funny.

Ryan is definitely getting over the death of his wife. His daughter, though is adorable.

It's a short book, and the timing seemed rushed. There were important scenes that felt rushed. I enjoyed the story, and think the author could have expanded more. Continued the fun.

Overall, I would recommend it. Just know it goes fast.

A sweet, clean, witty quick hallmark read!
Felicity and Ryan's characters were well developed within the short span making the reader feel as though they know them. I did appreciate Felicity taking claim of her accomplishments in the end with the restaurant. I really enjoyed Felicity and Ryan's story!

The tale of how a food blogger can affect the life and decisions of a chef. Secrets are kept. Careers are on the line. Emotions are high. Families are involved. A cat is instrumental. A sweet story that has wonderful characters, even the feline variety. Not really a very grumpy brother. A sweet story that is a quick read that has you wishing for more.

Short and cute story, with several funny moments. I liked the chemistry between Felicity and Ryan, and even Felicity and Riley. Noodle was a cute addition. I wish the story had been a little longer, their romance fleshed out a bit more. Otherwise, I enjoyed the story.

I really enjoyed MY BEST FRIEND’S GRUMPY BROTHER. Felicity was a breath of fresh air - no hidden feelings for her! And Ryan and Riley are great characters, too. This is a fun, fast moving, light romance in spite of some quite serious moments. Very entertaining story!

Ryan writes scathing reviews bashing the food because it reminds him of his late wife's cooking. Grief doesn't justify hurting others. Bad reviews can really damage a restaurants's business or the chief's carreer. I didn't see that he had moved on. Falling for a woman who reminds him so much of his late wife is problematic. The story and time frame is so short that we didn't have the chance to see the development to work on their issues.
