I read The Iliad when I was in my early twenties, and I have no idea what edition. I think it was part of some classics book club deal. I chose the above edition because there seems to be no information available about it, and GR requires some edition. Choose carefully. Try a few pages of any edition before you commit to one - it does require commitment. Then settle in for one of the greatest rides of all time.
A great Homeric epic poem, this is a war story never to be forgotten. Great heroes, quarrelsome deities, grave mistakes, and overwhelming pride fill its pages. Though lengthy, it is enjoyable. If you think you know the story from watching Troy, you have yet to see the actual tale.
