Sent back to the human world by my brother and the shaman, I found refuge among humans, reconnecting with an old friend who urged me to embrace the life I left behind. Yet, my shelter was short-lived when the alpha, Cannon, captured me once more.
In his pack, I witnessed the stark differences between the pack I came from and the Blackridge Peak Pack. I longed to belong to a community as free as this—all the while resisting the magnetic pull towards the alpha.
Meanwhile, someone who was once close to me could hold the key to unlocking the mysteries of humans hunting shifters. While some truths remained hidden, I feared the answers lay within the heart of my old pack.
As external pressures intensified, threatening to shatter the delicate trust building between Cannon and me, I came to realize that it’s not our bond we should have been resisting.
It’s betrayal.
Content Wolf’s Betrayal is a paranormal romance and is the second book in The Blackridge Peak series. Recommended reading age is 18+ due to sexual content, mature language, violence, and some mature themes. This is Book 2 in a continuing series and ends on a cliffhanger.

Being an avid reader from a young age, Eve still considers herself to be a reader first. She writes under a pen name because otherwise her Secret Agent status will be revoked.

3 good, but not enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️ maybe I expected too much.
This wasn’t enough for me. I needed more development between Kezia and Cannon, I needed Kezia to grow up and there was too much bickering between the MMC’s. I needed more courage from the writer. Was Cannon bad to Kezia? Technically I guess, but he was not completely unreasonable either, so the drama was too low compared to what the potential of the story was.
English is not my first language and when I catch grammatical errors in an AUDIOBOOK, its egregious. This book could have been amazing with more editing.
Beginning 4 ⭐️ Middle 2 ⭐️ Ending 4.5 ⭐️
It’s still a good story, this picks up 5 months after the first book ended. Cannon kidnaps her again, puts her in a cell again, and they start to solve the mystery of her parents. Vance shows up again etc etc. The whole mate bond issue was prolonged and delayed, it could have been good, but felt diluted, and it got repetitive, I wanted more development between them. The last chapter finally shows some romance blooming between them but it was too late.
I HATED THE ENDING. It’s book 2/3 and it ended on a cliffhanger. I fumed when this book ended😂 A cliffhanger has give to give some closure to a full book, and open a curtain of what is time come, right?
When the story finally took off, it ended with the first show of drama. It’s like the book was a prologue to the next one. Every book in a series has to feel like a full book? I did like the plot of the story, I just vehemently disagree with it ended where it did. This should have been at 75% mark. And ending a little more complete. But I am not s writer. 4.5 ⭐️ for the ending, is for the plot and not my feelings 😭
Should you read it? Yes I am just really mad at it right now.
Wolf’s Betrayal by Eve L. Mitchell is the second book in The Blackridge Peak Series which is a paranormal shifter romance.
The story progresses through so many emotions. Gosh there were moments when I was so in Kezia’s head that her raw emotions just hit me hard and I was crying. I love those moments, as it shows the authors written an emotional connection between the characters and the reader. Unfortunately for me, those tears stayed close to the surface for a long time. I just wanted to protect and hug Kezia. Even though she’s a badass, she still has an innocence that needs protecting.
The characters like Royce were the ones I found she needed the most. A protector. A friend. A saviour. But most of all they enhanced the story and in a way that secondary characters creep in and you want their story as well.
The friendship and weird comrady Kezia and Vance built over time comes across with their teasing and banter.
And then there’s the alpha a55hole. The guy Kezia can’t get out of her head, even with time and distance between them she just can’t forget. This man, this wolf, he was all consuming in this story. Cannon is simply, unforgettable.
And now let’s get to back to the overall story. The twists, betrayal and revelations kept me on the edge on my seat and I read Wolf’s Betrayal in one sitting.
I can’t wait for the third book in this series and I’m prepared to expect the unexpected.

Just when I thought this series couldn't get it better it told me to "hold my drink"!!! Holy shifter...this book "shifted" into top gear and took me for a ride...I had to let go of the drink because I had to hold on tight to my kindle!!! Absolutely love Kezia....she is one of my favourite female leads...and the twists and turns along with a few decent bumps had my heart pounding and the pages turning quicker than those wolves could run. I Can. Not. Wait for the next book because that last page was "Mind Blown"!!!!!
This series does not disappoint!! I love Kezia and Cannon. The 2nd book of this series has twists and turns, humor, snark, a bad ass Female who can go toe to toe with her Alpha, and heat in more ways than one! The way they love and fight Drew me in, and I didn't want to put it down. I can't wait to find out what's next with the 3rd book in this series to find out how all of the betrayal and connections made will work out after another perfect cliffhanger and book by Eve L. Mitchell!
After devouring the first book in the series I was eagerly awaiting this one and Eve didn't let us down!
I so love Kezia. She has been put through so much but she is a serious survivor and much stronger then she thinks. Her raw emotions really seeped out of the pages and embedded them in me as I read and that's one of the things I loved.
Now lets talk about Cannon! oh did I want to junk punch him many times during this but ultimately, even though i so wanted to hate him I couldn't as once he got his head out his alpha ass he was totally there for Kezia! I did adore Royce though! the way he supported Kezia and offered friendship and the fact he called his alpha out I loved him!
Whilst there are some revelations there are more secrets left to be uncovered! After the way this one left off I need the next book NOW!!
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author and this is my honest opinion
How could you end it there. 5 weeks seems like an age to wait for the final book. Apart from that what an amazing book 2. More questions need to be answered. You, evil genius author will be the death of me! Cliffhanger hung
Another fantastic binge read! I'm in love with this book/series and could not put it down! It was suspenseful, exciting, written so well, characters and world building are phenomenal! Kezia and Cannon will make you laugh and scream, and laugh some more because Kezia is a handful!
It is well worth reading and you should start with book 1, Wolf's Gambit. I recommend you make time to vacate your real life, because you will struggle to put these books down! This author will be a favorite so be prepared to read her backlist, she's good writing in so many different genres and tropes.
Well I almost threw my kindle at the end 😩😤 how can you leave us hanging like that no fair. It’s to far until the next one 😩😩. I am going to sulk now. Such a great story
Geeeeeee where do I start.....this series has me hooked so bad !!! I literally can't put it down once I start reading it. Sleep ? Pfft who needs it? Work? Can wait .....honestly its so full of twists and turns that my head is spinning. How on earth is this going to end! Thankfully I've only got to wait till next month for the last book.....then I can see me doing a complete reread just because!!!
Entranced as I was by Wolf's Gambit, I couldn't wait for Wolf's Betrayal, part 2 in what is shaping up to be an unputdownable trilogy.
Centering on the development of Cannon and Kezia's relationship, Wolf's Betrayal is a mixture intrigue, banter and 'cant keep their hands off each other' moments.
I was unsure how the betrayal part was going to come about but I wasn't disappointed in how it played out.
Again Kezia's smart mouth and fighting spirit makes me cheer her on throughout this second installment but the anticipation of what book 3 will bring is very real.
This Book 2 in The Blackridge Peak Book Series has an intriguing Wolf shifter romance and a well-contructed wold with interesting characters. These characters have detailed histories, unique personalities and believable interactions. This must read story has the following: intrigue, twists, turns, adventure, action, danger, love and a HEA. It is a well-paced, wolf shifter book that will keep you entranced from start to finish.

WOLF’S BETRAYAL is the second instalment in Eve L Mitchell’s contemporary, adult BLACKBRIDGE PEAK paranormal, romance series focusing on Wolf Pack Alpha Cannon, and his fated mate Kezia. WOLF’S BETRAYAL should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the cliff hanger of book one WOLF’S GAMBIT.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Cannon and Kezia) WOLF’S BETRAYAL picks up after the events of book one. Kezia has been on the run for close to five months in the wake of rejection by her fated mate but participating in the underground MMA fights brings too much attention to our story line heroine, attention that catches the eye of her reluctant mate, the alpha who is determined to destroy what fate pushes together. Meanwhile, Kezia’s original pack is desperate to reclaim their wayward pack member but all is not well when secrets revealed threaten everything Kezia thought she knew, and her future going forward.
The world building continues to focus on the contemptuous and temperamental relationship between our story line couple. Cannon is unable to accept Kezia as his fated mated, and the alpha’s disdain for Kezia is affecting her ability to move on from the past. Secrets revealed show a lifetime of lies, betrayal, jealousy and greed, that continue to threaten everything Kezia thought was the truth.
The relationship continues to be combative and antagonistic. Cannon and Kezia are belligerent and contentious but with Kezia’s approaching heat, Cannon is determined to push away the woman that calls to his wolf. The $ex scenes are limited but intense.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and questionable secondary and supporting characters, many of whom have ulterior motives, wanting nothing more than to destroy our story line heroine.
WOLF’S BETRAYAL is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, madness and mayhem, rejection and hate. The premise is captivating and intriguing; the characters are desperate, powerful , determined and lost. WOLF’S BETRAYAL ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.
Truthfully, this book would have gotten a 2.5, but the author came for blood with the last chapter and epilogue and you can’t help but want to immediately read the next book!
Here’s what I loved: - Again, last chapter & epilogue…my mind is BLOWN - Cannon going slow and continuing to check in when they finally had sex. So many books are like “she is a virgin” and then the time she loses it, the man just rams it in. This book defies that and is exactly how more sex scenes should be. Softness and caring where it counts. - The development of Moonstar. It’s something unique in the sea of shifters series that admittedly can get a bit repetitive - Kezia’s happiness at being an equal and getting to fight three times in one day - Kezia’s mom’s story - Cannon’s struggle because of the bond. Him trying to not do things and yet he’s just helpless. You don’t see a lot of MMC POV’s and see the true thoughts and feelings.
Here’s what irritated me: - Vance being in his late 20’s. The entire time, I envisioned Vance to be some mid-40’s dude and I’m sticking to it. Nothing in the first book gave the impression that he was a young guy. - The virginity scene seemed somewhat abrupt - Cannon’s wanting to hide things from Kezia and asking Moonstar to do the same. This isn’t love, this is manipulation. I know he means well, but I really hate this side of him.
Lastly, this is the major fault: Kezia losing her spark. I completely get that she’s falling for Cannon, but her entire personality is pushing, prodding, and doing what she wants. This is still reflected several times, but there’s parts in the plot where she should be defending herself or fighting back and she just doesn’t and/or stands and watches Cannon do it, and that just doesn’t seem like her.
As with many Book 2’s, this one sort of flopped. It redeemed itself in the end to improve its rating, but Kezia somewhat seeming to lose her spark in the name of love just really had me getting more and more irritated. I really like this series and will finish, but this book was harder to finish vs. me binge reading the first book.

Wow there are so many things I want to say about this book, so I'll start out on a positive note. This book was addicting to read, I wanted to see what was coming next, and there were a lot of plot twists. However I fear my opinion on the MMC hasn't changed much.
To start, Cannon locked Kenzia in a cage, FOR WEEKS, AGAIN! Not only is he a complete jerk to her but he is apparently 18 years older than her as well (we later find out she's like 22 and not 18 THANK GOD!). Every time he speaks to her he gets majorly rage baited and is horrible to her. BUT GOOD NEWS, SHE GETS OUT OF THE CAGE. But instead of our MMC/Mate letting her out, its his second in command because he feels bad for her and the fact that she has to shower with a hose! Wow, how kind. When our MMC finds out about this he wants to throw her BACK into the cage but now people have seen her so she can't be locked up like a criminal anymore! AWW man. Now because there are no longer bars separating them, they magically don't despise one another anymore.
For the 1st 1/3rd of this book she's locked in a cage (AGAIN). The second part is them living life semi normally with a few insinuations thrown in about her mysterious past (ooo). And the last 1/3 of this book is us getting randomly info dumped about her past that seems out of place and rushed. When I was reading this I was like "oh alright we are just randomly getting answers". There wasn't any buildup.
In the end Kenzia runs away in order to save her brother and the people she cares about and cannon gets stabbed by someone with a silver knife. He learns just how painful it is to be impaled by silver, (keep in mind he SHOT her with aa silver bullet). She gets kidnapped and will probs be tricked and tortured (she cannot catch a break).
I'm reading the last book now because I just cannot help myself and need to see how this all wraps up.

Wolf's betrayal by Eve L Mitchell Book 2 in The Blackridge Peak Shifters series ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶🌶💀💀💀 These books have had me in a chokehold from start to finish. Cannon found Kezia and locked her in for her own safety as well as for his pack. However with her heat, their being mates and her past, things are more complicated with emotional chaos and mysteries. With every new information they gleam, a new question pops up. Slowly Kezia and Cannon are finding common ground and accepting the bond or trying. But with the current threat and betrayal that might be too fragile to withstand. The cliffhanger actually hurt even though I knew something was coming. Trope: Fated mates. Forced Proximity. Slow burn. Rejected. Magic. Betrayal. Triggers. Found family. Quotes: “I don’t want to beat you,” I told him with a snarl. “I just want to see you bleed.”
“The sooner this heat comes, the better,” I told the mirror with a heavy sigh. “I need some control back.” I felt her come forward, her amber eyes full of wisdom that I did not have. Surrender and you will rest. “No.” Inhaling deeply, I shook my head. “If I give you control, I don’t trust where I’ll end up.” I met her stare boldly. “When I’ll end up. Three months later? Six? A Year?” I am not the enemy, child. “I know,” I whispered. “You’re not my enemy…I no longer know if you’re a friend though. I don’t know if I can trust you.”
“I don’t want to be lost, Cannon.” I heard him move forward, hands gripping the bars tightly. “You will never be lost,” he told me. “I will always find you.”
Kezia has been gone from her pack for five months. She was a little paranoid afraid someone from her pack would come for her but now she's settling in. She fights to survive. Her friend and sort of manager is Vance. She's at a fight when he shows up and takes her and puts her in a cell. Her pack and he thinks she is unstable and dangerous. He won't listen to her. Cannon looked for his mate for five months. Then realized if he had looked for Vance he would have found her sooner. Now he has her in a cell and keeps away from her as much as possible. When they are together they literally rub each other the wrong way. Then he learns and tells her that Vance knew she was a shifter. A few other things are revealed to her and she starts to think about choices. Lies are soon revealed and the agony and pain she has gone through is out in the open. Her pack that sent her away is not her pack. Then where did she come from? Who were her parents? Will the full truth be revealed? Will she and Cannon actually make it to full mating? A story with a lot of danger and lies and heart.

I am going to start this off by saying Thank Luna the next book is coming out next month!!!!! Because I need more!!!! This series has sucked me in and now has my complete attention! I just know I am going to struggle reading any shifter book until I get the next one. Kezia and Cannon are so infuriating with each other and the stress I feel when they interact is off the charts!!!! So much happened in book one and now we see how some of that turns out and get a look into the past. The things that are revealed and questions that come up because of it makes this series very intriguing. There is romance and it’s fire. But I am left wondering if after everything they will get their happy ending. Luna I hope so!!!!!
We are back into the action as Kezia heads back to hiding and making her way with the humans. I love her grit and continued push to rely on no one but herself.
Cannon hunts down Kezia and takes her back to his pack. Kezia has a chance to finally see how a real pack works while also fighting for her independence.
The heat between Cannon and Kezia definitely ignites and Mitchell does not leave us disappointed as these two work out their frustrations and undeniable chemistry.
There are so many twists and turns that Mitchell serves us that left me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out all the answers. Once again Mitchell keeps me turning the pages even when the book is over looking for more.
I just can't. I can't like her and her never-ending stupid choices, and I can't stand him and his stupid choices. If I were her wolf, I would have killed her myself. Nope. Nope. Nope. This is not a relationship. This isn't even a good lustship. I don't need a book relationship to be healthy, but this plays out so much like a father/daughter relationship, and it makes the lust scenes cringy. I'm surprised she doesn't call him daddy. Nope. Nope. Nope. *This book is rated R. The F word and other strong language are used often. There is bloody violence and on page spice. *
This continuation of Kezia and Cannon’s story is full of surprises. There were several twists that I didn’t not expect-and it’s hard to catch me off guard. The fantastic character development continues. I cannot wait for the next in series as this book does end on quite the cliff hanger. Don’t start this book if you have plans because you will not be able to stop turning the pages. Highly recommend this series if you love a kick butt FMC and unpredictable enemies to lovers spice.

I don't like these characters. I think the guy didn't want to mate with the girl because she was too young. I don't remember that being explicitly stated. But he was fine with her after the guardian wolf told him that she is four years older than she thinks she is. If she didn't "live" those years she didn't get the life experience and therefore she is still as young as she thinks she is. And he never had a conversation with her about his change of heart. Now they are joking about how he locked her in a cage for months. It is just all kinds of messed up.
It seems the author thought twice about the age gap in this book, too bad the damage was done in the first book... when it mattered.
A lot of this book was spent detailing food for some reason. Kezia didn't grow at all, but there were a handful of consequences.
This is a no strings attached kind of series. No connection or real emotional ride, just simply easy to read. Not fond of the cliffhanger of this one. It's repetitive. But might as well see where it goes.
Brilliant read. Kezia has once again had to leave her pack for the safety of others. neglecting herself one again. But Kezias seclusion is short lived when she is captured by Cannon and taken back to his pack. But what she finds there is something not seen. a true pack one built from the wreckage of before, building from the embers. But Kezia has choices to make and not all the roads lead to better places. brilliant read. cannot wait for the next book to get more answers
I really enjoyed this book. I was lucky enough to only discover this series a few days before the last bok was released so I didn't have to endure the cliffhangers. I'm not a big fan of them tbh. But yeah since all the books are out now that's no longer an issue. I really enjoy all the layers in this book and how you can't really tell where the story is going from the start. It keeps you on your toes.
I'm not a huge fan of trilogies. Most of the time I feel like the story could have been slightly condensed and told in only one book, which would make it more compelling. I feel like these authors drip feed it over a trilogy just to sell more books/make more $.
This was pretty good but Kezia made a move at the end of this that, while predictable, was also a plot device that I detest, and with that I am just not invested enough to read the third book in this trilogy.

Okay wait, this one was actually kind of decent compared to book one! Sure, the plot points were almost identical to the first book (she lives among humans, she fights in fighting rings, her mate finds her and puts her in a cage, her brother is useless, etc) but they were done much better the second time around! Her mate actually seems to show a sliver of care for her and people don’t just assume she’s evil, so that was a big improvement.
this IS #2 of a 3 books series, in my experience i always find that this IS the filler book and hence my hate of trilogies. Never happened here, i devoured this, everything that happened was necesary to the story and timeline and weird enough, not one filler. my only complaint here IS the cliffhanger, maybe mrs Eve (the author) IS latina after all? Just like with the last one you would want to keep on to the third and final one, so plan It.
I LOVE this series. The characters are heart warming, breaking, wanting to choke them (haha)
I read back to back and told my hubby do his own food and if he needed clean undies he knows where the washer and detergent is. Yes, that us how much I've enjoyed reading these books.
All I know the next one better have everyone getting happy ending and justice.
This is Book 2 of the series and I was hooked back into the story right from the start. I love the chemistry between Kezia and Cannon. I love all the characters and the storyline. Awesome read, I couldn't put it down. Well written.
