What a ridiculous read 😂😂. But was I entertained!?? Well, yeah. Especially by the plot and the funny and OTT moments.

While the read was short and ridiculously funny from time to time, it did have quite a shocking scene, let's say...well, not shocking for me, but for other readers might be (so beware, tw for attempting SA and a bloody way of dying, since the MMC took care of the danger 🥰).

So, what we have here is a prime example of lust and obsessive behavior developed at first sight 🤷‍♀️😂. For both the main characters. They even said "I love you"s by the end of their first day together. In their defense, it was an insane day!!

I wasn't a fun of the smut, again, such wordy way to write how two people come together. Cutesy? Maybe. Hot? Yeah, no, thank you 😭😂.

So, this being my second read by this author, I can say that I'm still not a fan of the wordy and exaggerated prose, that it simply does not work with this type of novellas 🥲.

PLOT: Connie is a 25 year old virgin who had a bad experience a few years ago so she keeps to herself. She's a baker who delivers fresh cookies to prisoners and other stores. One day as she's leaving the prison, a convict named Xavier slips into her delivery truck to escape. She finds out a little while later. After some arguing and threats, she agrees to help him. They fall for each other very quickly, but what happens when the past catches up to them?

THOUGHTS: Omg, I do believe this is my first book by Annabelle Winters and I LOVED IT! It's full of twists and turns which is surprising to me for a novella. The spice is great. I loved Xavier's POV when he thought about Connie, and I especially loved the things he said to her. ;) The epilogue was so cute and relieving too. I'm gonna have to read all of her novellas!

This is the 3rd book in the Curvy for Darkness Insta-Love Romance series featuring the dark OTT age-gap, forced proximity, possessive alpha, insta-love novella between Xavier and Connie. Xavier escapes from prison after an attempt is made on his life and fate sends him a pink confections truck with the name Connie's Confections emblazoned on it's side. Xavier is sure that he and Connie are meant to when he hides in the back of her truck. When Connie finds the man in the back of her truck later on he's telling her that they're meant to be that they're fated and after some back and forth arguing & threats Connie agrees to help him. Xavier and Connie develop feelings for each other pretty quickly but what's going to happen when Xavier's past catches up with them? You really need to read this dark OTT age-gap, forced proximity, possessive alpha, insta-love novella to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Ok, maybe I should have stuck to my first instinct after seeing the title but I really wanted to read this story and it did not live up to what I hoped it would. The story is pretty farfetched but then again, that is what fiction is all about. Xavier through fate becomes entangled with Connie as he escapes from prison after an attempt on his life and stows away in the Connie's Confection truck. When Connie finds Xavier in her truck, she is naturally frightened but then as the two find that there is a spark, and a relationship begins. Most of this story is so unbelievable that it is actually makes reading it enjoyable. For the future, I will probably stick to my initial instincts, but I still am glad I was able to finish this book to see if the unbelievable relationship between these two makes it to an HEA>.

Fascinating study in how to bring two almost-deserving people together
Perfect cover for Xavier who has just escaped from prison after an attempted assassination on his life. His fate is driving the pink truck with the name Connie’s Confections plastered on its side: Connie O’Connor. Destiny has played its hand again for this new couple in the series. How can they get away with no repercussions? Ms. Winters can undoubtedly write some of the most intriguing plots and then finagle her way out of seemingly impossible predicaments. Or can she this time? Love the ending!
If you like short, sweet and steamy insta-romance, you really must read this book. I volunteered to review an ARC of it through Booksprout.

Captured by the Convict is the third book in the Curvy for Darkness Instalove Romance Novellas series. This story is fast-paced, OTT, insta-lust/love, and a smexy read. The story finds Connie, a bakery owner, delivering cookies to the local prison for Valentine's Day. Xavier is a prisoner who has needs to escape after fending off a hit on him in prison. So when he sees her pink van he climbs in with the intention of escaping and then leaving the truck as soon as he can, being undetected. That plan changes when he sees Connie for the first time....and then all bets are off. She may be scared of him at the beginning but there is still some underlying current that is drawing her nearer to him as they spend time together.

Xavier is escaping prison, crawling his way out of a hell hole, when he sees a cute, pink delivery van, and makes a life changing decision.

Connie has been delivering cookies to the Prison for a while, as part of a program, to bring a little of the outside world in, when on that particular Valentine's Day, she leaves with a stowaway.
Xavier's atraction is aparent, the first time he lays eyes in the cute, blue eyed baker.
But there's a sadness behind her bright smile, a fear in her big blue eyes, that has nothing to do with the convict in her van.

Connie has her own demons, including a stalker, that has come back to haunt her......

Dangerous Hero

Connie has a bakery and is delivery cookies to the prison on Valentine’s Day. On the same day, Xavier is breaking out and sneaks into her delivery truck.

When she discovers his presence, he’s forced to take her captive so that she won’t turn him in to the police. As they’re forced to stay together, an unstoppable attraction begins to build. Soon, being caught by the police is not the only danger they have to escape and a once convict becomes a dangerous hero.

Overall, this was a good story with an aggressive alpha and innocent leading lady. There are some possible triggers.

Xavier needs to escape after the assassination attempt and a well timed Valentines day delivery to the prison by Connie, is his way out. Only hes drawn to Connie like a moth to a flame, and when he sees her sunny persona is just that, he sees the loneliness inside, he feels true freedom with her and decides he wont be letting go her go. Well written steamy insta hot, teasing, action, violence and more!

This is a sweet story and very entertaining. story. I liked it very much. It starts on Valentine's Day with Connie delivering cooks to the Prison. She nose she is in trouble with not having enough money to pay her bills. As she leaves the prison she a an extra rider in her Van, Xavier. He has made it out. This is a story that keeps you hooked from the start and you enjoy the fire and passion that exists between Xavier and Connie. The chemistry and the drama, longing and the romance and the hot and steamy moments between them completes their story and journey. I enjoyed it and can't wait for the next part of this great series by Annabelle Winters.

Xavier has A lot of unsafe behaviors and actions while incarcerated. now that he has found a way to escape he's going Connie is the way. This is another extreme intense short short raid of miss winter's creations period there's fun period anxiety period a lot of trauma that's all balled up into action. Good read loved it. No cliff.

I loved reading Connie & Xavier's love at first sight story from start to finish. Although these are two unlikely lovers they find themselves brought together by fate & have a common enemy. This story has drama, sweetness & very steamy first meeting.

This is a short, very hot and steamy tale with a dark. dirty talking alpha and a sweet, beautiful and innocent woman who inadvertently aids his escape. It is rather intense, very-fast paced and addictive. A few twists in the storyline make this book even more interesting.

So OTT, dark romance on Valentines that has fear, violence and passion. Intense storyline with aggressive characters and a babbling baker who just so happens fate steps into hand a big dose. Intriguing how everything plays out, but this is definitely a fun dark humor love story.

Connie and Xavier meet in an interesting way but when sparks fly they fly. Not even a little problem like him being an escaped convict comes between these two in this OTT short and steamy romance. Although the story was a bit OTT it's a great addition to the Curvy for Darkness series and I look forward to reading the next Annabelle Winters book. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
