Rachel (h) lives a harsh life amongst other young women being schooled by dark elves to mold them into subservient wives who’ll accept the abuse of their dark elf husbands. She worries that her distracted thoughts and feelings might be a precursor to her succumbing to the same mental health issues that claimed her mother and is unaware that what she’s experiencing is actually a demon, Dakka (H), who has fallen for her and is trying to communicate with her. When a cruel dark elf comes to the school to claim Rachel, Dakka is enraged and finally has the ability to manifest himself to save Rachel, albeit in a violent and gory spectacle. At first Rachel is terrified of Dakka and his abilities, leading him to coerce her into spending time with him. Things heat up between the two and Rachel comes to realize that Dakka is completely devoted to her, even if some of his actions are questionable. Loved how Dakka came to have a pet of his own. At times Dakka almost seemed innocent, in that he had so much to explore and learn about humans, acceptable behaviors. Ultra-hot and steamy dark demon-human romance with violence, humor, a little primal play, tail branding, rough sex, and more.

Wow I loved this book and is there nothing these two authors write thats not a hit, well I'm yet to find one. Rachel is a human that was taken to the Orphanage after losing her mother and this place is hell but being on the streets is worse. But at the Orphanage she and other girls will be sold off and are trained to serve to please and be obedient to there new husbands which are Dark Evil and Cruel Elves and one has come for her and she scared but she must leave with him. While this is happening she keeps getting these distractive thoughts like someone is talking to her but now she wonders if she will end up like her mother. Demon Lord Dakka has been trapped in the pendant that belongs to Melantha and her daughter Rachel who he has been trying to communicate with but she thinks she is going insane but he will not let anybody take her away from him and when she is sold to a cruel Dark elf that try’s to abuse her he breaks free of his cage that kept him in for yrs and saves her life and at first she is shocked and scared at the damage he left behind but she also knows within her heart that he will protect her with his life and so she excepts him as her new partner. What happens to them if the truth comes out about the cruel Dark Elf that she was sold too and can he keep her safe if they come for her and do they get there HEA in the end.

This was a good read. I liked Dakka and Rachel. They had great chemistry, and I really enjoyed the intensity of the emotions, feels and passion that filled their story. This book itself reads smoothly and it held my interest well.

I don’t read much monster books but I really liked this one. Just reading about their pasts and helping each other that leads to love is amazing.
