-Li'l packet, loads of love-
Review of 'Love Notes' by Swati Khatri

Quote Alert
"𝐀𝐬 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫,
𝐋𝐞𝐭'𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲.

𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬,
𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫."

First things first. If you want something completely, unabashadely immersed in love and
dripping with affection, while preening in shades of pretty pink and luscious violet, carrying cutesy art of melting icecreams and beating hearts, THIS IS THE BOOK FOR YOU. Looking for a gift for a loved one? Their birthday coming but you can't write a note for them? Fikar Not. LOVE NOTES will take care of it.

So what's it about? It's a little packet of poems that talk about love, heart and belonging. And nothing else. For what else is needed in life if you have love, right? And poetry. Yep, that too. Swati talks about love that was not just merely produced by first glance but something that 'felt right'. She wonders what we all do after a date: 'Did you go back and think of me? Or was it just a lame meeting over some tea?' Her love notes are covered with the awkwardness and shyness of first love that makes one's heart full.
She writes:
"You give me the feeling,
Of getting that hit,
A love-note to pick.
And getting pretty pictures clicked."

But why poetry? Because poetry is water to a scorched soul, a respite of rain to shrivelled soil, a promise of a cloud in a dry village, an oasis of green in a parched desert. Poems are never enough. They make the individual and the world a better place.
Have a look:
"You and I,
Just don't know why?
It feels like home even though I don't try.
You and I,
The fire that can't be seen.
Love that isn't mean,
And the flower in its full sheen.
You and I,
A promise not to be apart.
And XOXO on the charts."

The book represents the poet's myriad emotions she has tried to capture on their poetic canvas. Mostly the poems have been inspired by our simple day to day emotions but the heft they carry in word and tenor has nothing ordinary about it. She writes:
"As we are together,
Let's accept each other with those flaws.
Let's accept everyday won't be a Sunday,
And there won't be any music in the air.
Let's stand together in tough times,
And cheer for each other always.
We will grow together,
It's you and me forever.
One heart said,
The other listened."

She talks about the feeling of making a home and the emotions love brings alive in one's heart. She writes:
"Let's find our spark,
Somewhere in the dark.
It will be a meeting of the souls,
Our union to the core.
Let's feel the touch of passion,
A love no one can fathom.
Both together will intoxicate,
Each other's physical state."

And leaving you with this'
"You give me the feeling,
Of stealing a kiss.
A meeting I won't want to miss,
And that ultimate bliss."

Pick it up today.

The book is a quick and easy read that mainly focuses on emotions and relationships. Each poem explores a different aspect of love, ranging from intense to playful. Although there isn't a continuous story, the poems together paint a picture of various feelings like vulnerability, longing, and happiness. There aren't any specific characters, but the poems tap into emotions that everyone can relate to. Swati Khatri's writing is beautiful and emotional, using metaphors, similes, and vivid imagery to express complex feelings. The short length of each poem packs a punch, and Khatri's deliberate choice of words creates a personal connection with the reader. The use of enjambment helps the emotions flow smoothly throughout the poems.

'Love Notes' really sticks with you. It's like stumbling upon a sweet message tucked away in an old book—just a nice unexpected moment. I think anyone who enjoys heartfelt poetry would dig this book. Whether you're a poetry pro or just starting out, these love notes hit home. Just a heads up, this book is on the shorter side, so if you're into deep dives into themes, you might want to check out some other poetry collections. Overall, Swati Khatri's 'Love Notes' is a super touching read. It's like a cozy cup of tea on a gloomy day—just comforting and really hits the feels. 📖✨.

I think there’s something very special about books that feel like a personal gift rather than just a read. This book instantly gave me that feeling, like opening a tiny box filled with affection, memories, and unspoken emotions.

Before I even started reading, the cover itself completely won me over. The pastel shades, adorable doodles, hearts, butterflies, and colourful pages make the book feel incredibly warm and comforting. It almost feels like a modern-day scrapbook of feelings, soft, dreamy, and full of love in its simplest form.

What makes this book charming is its simplicity. The poems and little notes are not overly complicated or dramatic. Instead, they capture the small emotions people often struggle to express openly, the nervousness after meeting someone special, the comfort of feeling understood, the excitement of love slowly growing into companionship, and the quiet promise of staying together despite imperfections.

Some poems genuinely felt like thoughts pulled straight out of personal conversations or late-night reflections. I especially loved how the author talks about accepting flaws, growing together, and finding “home” in another person. There’s an innocence and honesty in the writing that makes it relatable and easy to connect with.

It’s also one of those books you can finish in a single sitting, but still keep beside you to revisit certain pages whenever you want something light and comforting to read. The cute illustrations and aesthetically designed pages make the experience even more enjoyable.

Honestly, I feel this book would make such a thoughtful gift for someone you love. Pair it with flowers, chocolates, or even a handwritten letter, and it instantly becomes more meaningful.

If you enjoy soft romantic poetry, heartfelt one-liners, and books that feel warm, pretty, and emotionally comforting, this one is definitely worth picking up.

"Love Notes" by Swati Khatri is a charming collection of poems that delves deep into the emotions and intricacies of relationships. Each poem stands alone, yet together they create a rich tapestry of love's many facets, from intense passion to playful affection. Despite the lack of a continuous storyline, the collection vividly portrays feelings like vulnerability, longing, and happiness, making it easy for readers to connect with the sentiments expressed.

The absence of specific characters in the poems enhances their universal appeal, allowing anyone to see themselves in the emotions described. Khatri's writing is both beautiful and evocative, utilizing metaphors, similes, and vivid imagery to convey complex feelings in a relatable way. The brevity of each poem ensures that every word is carefully chosen, packing a powerful emotional punch.

This book also evokes a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of the traditional love notes and greeting cards that were once the primary means of expressing affection before the rise of digital communication. Khatri's collection rekindles those warm feelings, making it a delightful read.

Overall, "Love Notes" is a cute and sweet collection of poems that makes for a perfect gift. Whether for a special occasion or just because, this book is an ideal way to surprise a loved one with a heartfelt expression of your feelings.

Love Notes is a beautifully curated collection that celebrates love in its softest and most genuine form.

Through delicate poems and heartfelt expressions, the book explores affection, longing, togetherness, and emotional intimacy with remarkable simplicity.

As William Shakespeare once wrote,

“Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,” and this collection reflects that very emotion through its tender verses.

Lines such as, “One heart said, The other listened” and “I will love you today, I will love you tomorrow and always” add warmth and sincerity to every page.

The visual appeal of the book makes the experience even more charming, featuring dreamy colours, cute illustrations, and aesthetically pleasing layouts that perfectly complement its romantic essence.

Quotes like “Let’s find our spark, Somewhere in the dark” and “Let’s feel the touch of passion, A love no one can fathom” beautifully convey emotional depth.

Even playful moments like “Still looking at you / And it’s not just the ice cream” make the book feel personal and relatable.

Echoing Nicholas Sparks’s famous line, “Love is like the wind, you can’t see it but you can feel it,” this book leaves behind a comforting warmth long after the final page.

Thus, it's a quick yet memorable read, this book makes a lovely gift for someone special. Happy Reading, Happy Learning.

”You give me the feeling,
Of getting that hit,
A love-note to pick.”

- Swati Khatri, Love Notes

’Love Notes’ by Swati Khatri is a compilation of micro-poems that depict the different phases experienced by people in love. The presentation of the verses through drawings that feature motifs like hearts, butterflies, couple in love make them memorable.

The poems that stood out for me were - ’Not Love at first sight’ and ’I will love you’. The first one portrayed love in its nascent stages and how the narrator yearns for the emotion after some intimate meetings. The rhythmic writing scheme enhances the vulnerability of the speaker, as the steady flow of the lines mirrors the gradual unfolding of affection.

”Let's accept everyday won't be a Sunday,
And there won't be any music in the air”

The second poetic piece — ’I will love you’, though written in a straightforward manner is heartfelt and will tug at your heartstrings.

”I will be your partner in young,
I will be your companion in old age.”

Love Notes: The Relationship Scrapbook You Didn't Know You Needed

"Love Notes" is what happens when your Notes app confessions meet actual artistic effort. This slim collection of poems, thoughts, and doodles captures every messy, wonderful emotion that comes with being in love: the butterflies that feel like anxiety, the overthinking at 2 AM, the absurd joy of inside jokes no one else gets.

Think of it as the literary equivalent of those couples' Instagram stories that somehow aren't annoying. It's Taylor Swift's "Lover" album in book form, or the visual diary your relationship would keep if it could draw. The doodles aren't just decoration; they're the visual language of feelings that words can't quite pin down.

This isn't trying to be profound poetry or relationship advice. It's honest snapshots of what love actually feels like when you're living it: equal parts giddy, terrifying, and weirdly domestic. Perfect for anniversaries, Valentine's Day, or that "just because" moment when you want to say "I get us" without being corny about it.

"One heart said,
The other listened."

I picked this book up because I absolutely love reading romance and poetry centred around love.

I was genuinely very impressed by the book cover as well. It looks incredibly cute! The colour palette perfectly complements the vibe of the book. It is also filled with adorable illustrations that beautifully sync with the mood and theme.

The book is a collection of cute one-liners and short poems that blend the idea of love with the emotions and relationships of today’s era.

"If I might only grow small enough, To curl up into the hollow of your palm."

It’s a very short read and can easily be finished in a single sitting.

I genuinely feel that this book would make a perfect addition to a gift hamper for your loved ones. Or simply gift it to someone with a tiny note saying that this book mirrors your feelings for them.

"You and I,
Just don't know why?
It feels like home even though I don't try."

This collection has really captivated my heart! If you're looking for something light and full of beautiful insights and quotes about love, this is the book for you.

The cover's soothing colours emanate a sense of tranquilly, and the material inside is wonderful.

The pink-colored artwork and lettering give a special appeal that distinguishes it from the standard black print. I'm completely smitten with this unique use of colour!

This book is more than just a read; it is an experience. It's a fantastic gift for anyone, an ideal present for yourself, and a treasure to cling onto throughout difficult times.

I honestly couldn't stop smiling while flipping through it! It is just downright adorable. From the soft pastel pink and lilac aesthetic to the most charming little minimalist doodles (like a melting ice cream character and a cozy cup of chai!), the design alone makes you want to curl up with it.

The book itself is a beautifully curated, quick read featuring 7 heartfelt expressions of love. It takes you on a sweet, relatable journey through all the modern phases of romance—capturing everything from the awkward butterflies of "Not Love at First Sight" to the cozy comfort of "The Tea Date," right up to the absolute certainty of "Forever." It balances intense, vulnerable moments with funny, playful poetry that feels incredibly raw and real.

There was a time when greeting cards and love notes were the primary means of expressing love to our loved ones. With the rise of mobile technology, these traditional gestures took a back seat. However, I recently discovered a book that rekindled the same feelings I used to have when holding a beautifully designed and printed love card.

This "book" is essentially a collection of love notes and quotes, accompanied by meaningful emotions, emojis, and captivating graphics. It provides special spaces for writing love notes or poems to present to your loved one.

I truly enjoyed reading this short and sweet book. ❤️

"A collection of 7 poems, 'Love Notes' tenderly conveys and perfectly emulates love in every shape. It's very sweet, very close, and very emotional-for proof passionate and stormy, then moving and kittenish."

It is a poem- a gentle heartbeat to remind you-whoever you are- that love can be passionate and gentle. This could be your nearest friend if you are trying to find a way of letting your deepest feelings out or whether you want to know that someone special feels the same about you.

So, get lost in those loving words and let your heart understand the meaning of love.

Love Notes is a poetry collection, exploring different shades of romantic love. It was a very short and light read. The book is a collection of seven poems, filled with little expressions of love and affection. The poems and the book as a whole, have a soft romantic tone.

❝How can they not fall for each other?
For they both had that familiar soul,
The smile which they had seen before.
That scent they recognized from a previous life,
And the warmth they had been looking for.❞

This is my favorite line from the book, which reflects the theme author put together in this collection.

The book is also aesthetically pleasing with cute illustrations and sketches. This makes the reading experience visually appealing and comforting. With only twenty pages, you will finish in one sitting, but still keep turning the pages for the aesthetics.

The writing style is minimal, with rhyming lines and tiny reflections on love and connection. Readers who enjoy soft romance and cute themes may especially enjoy this style.

Personally, I love the artwork and overall presentation of the book. This book would make a cute little gift for someone you romantically love or someone who enjoys aesthetic reads.

Love Notes felt like reading someone’s heart folded into tiny pages. 💌

It’s such a short read, but somehow it captures longing, softness, vulnerability, and quiet love so beautifully. The writing feels warm and intimate, like late-night thoughts scribbled into a notebook you weren’t supposed to read.

What I loved most were the adorable graphics and little details throughout the book, they make the story feel even more personal and comforting. Every page feels delicate, emotional, and incredibly easy to connect with.

Love Notes feels like flipping through a diary that was never meant to be public—but somehow belongs to everyone.
Swati Khatri writes with a quiet honesty, where simplicity does all the heavy lifting. Each piece feels like a soft confession, unpolished yet deeply real. “One heart said, the other listened.” — that’s exactly how this book exists, in gentle conversations and unsaid emotions.
And just when it settles in your chest, it nudges you again—“Let’s find our spark, somewhere in the dark.”
It’s not a book you analyze.
It’s a book you recognizeand return to.

small book. big feelings.
seven poems that take you through the whole messy, beautiful arc of falling — from that first uncertain flutter to the warmth of someone who just stays. the pastel aesthetic and tiny doodles make it one of the prettiest things I've held this year, but the poetry is what lingers. it's funny and vulnerable and soft in the best way.

LOVE NOTES BY SWATI KHATRI

💌 Romantic Poetry
💌 Holistic Publishing
💌 20 pages

"How can they not fall for each other?
For they both had that familiar soul. "

It is rightly said that Poetry is the language of the souls. I got the book as the blurb sounded romantic in an idyllic sort of way.
What I wasn't expecting was pages filled with soft emotions, quiet confessions, and fleeting moments of love and longing. Since it is a short poetry collection, I finished it quite quickly, but many of the lines stayed with me afterward. The poems are simple, heartfelt, and easy to connect with, especially if you enjoy poetry that focuses more on emotions than complicated language.

" Let's find our spark
Somewhere in the dark.
It will be a meeting of the souls,
Our union to the core."

What I appreciated most about the book was its honesty. The poems do not try too hard to sound overly philosophical or abstract. Instead, they capture familiar feelings in a very direct and gentle way.
The nine poems capture the entirety of emotions one goes through when falling in love. The hope, the feeling of romance in the air, the vulnerability, everything was captured as if written in someone's personal dairy.

The writing style is soft and accessible, which makes the collection comforting to read. The illustrations were super cute. Some poems felt warm and romantic, while others carried a quiet sadness beneath them.  And I loved the quirky romantic anecdotes as well. The book is rightly titled " love notes" as it is filled with one. In fact, I feel like this would be a perfect gift for your crush, when you just can't muster up the words to confess.
