Viaje Sin Retorno es una novela entretenida que, aunque tiene sus méritos, no logra destacarse como una obra especial dentro del panorama literario de la ciencia ficción.
La trama, centrada en la búsqueda de un nuevo planeta para los humanos, resulta interesante y se desarrolla con un buen ritmo narrativo. Los personajes, aunque funcionales, no llegan a brillar; sus actitudes a veces resultan inconsistentes, lo que puede desconectar al lector. Este es uno de los puntos que afecta a la verosimilitud de la historia, junto con ciertos elementos del trasfondo que no terminan de ser creíbles. Pues me he llevado una grata sorpresa con este libro. Me ha entretenido desde el principio con una trama muy peliculera, capítulos rápidos y mezclando de una manera soberbia ciencia y ficción, con una buena base documental y un argumento que invita a seguir leyendo. Sin pretensiones, ni vueltas de tuerca al género, podría ser perfectamente el guión de una película. Se deja leer muy bien y vas conociendo poco a poco a los personajes, los cuales seguirán evolucionando en posterioriores libros de la saga.
Si buscas entrenimiento en la literatura y te gusta la ciencia ficción, lo pasarás en grande con este libro.

Es entretingut, té personatges interessants i tret d'un que té un caràcter molt arquetípicament violent, en la resta no hi ha més caràcters estúpids ni situacions arquetípiques fora de lloc. La novel·la enganxa. Ara bé, el rerafons és poc creïble, iguals que els personatges són potser massa bons, ho és també el rerafons, sembla que el fet de que la meitat de la població del planeta s'hagi de refugiar a la meitat del planeta que no ha estat destruït, no sigui un gran problema.

Un libro muy entretenido de leer. Es una gran aventura y cada personaje tiene su aporte único al desarrollo de la historia. La narrativa es buena y el ritmo de la historia está bien desarrollado. Me ha tenido enganchada desde el principio hasta el fin, y aunque algunas cosas fueron predecibles lo disfruté mucho. Sin duda seguiré con el segundo!

This is a great read for sci-fi lovers. I was looking for something like Across the Universe and happened across this series. While it’s definitely not YA romance, it is a great sci-fi read that involves space travel, high stakes action and exploring interesting new environments. It also has the tiniest hint of romance sprinkled in (I reiterate.. it is NOT romance). I’m very excited to pick up book two and see what happens with our crew. Kind of reminiscent of Stargate too!

I liked it! it's one of those sci-fi books that try's hard to stay grounded and relatable. There was a ton of explanation, almost shonen anime level of explanation. Still it was good, the science felt sound and the situation felt relatable. the twists were unexpected yet not overtly fantastic. I look forward to seeing where this goes.

Me parece una muy buena novela de ciencia ficción sobre el espacio. La idea original me parece muy interesante y se nota que ha cuidado los detalles en cuanto a cálculos y algunos temas más específicos.
Es evidente que el autor se ha informado muy bien sobre temas astronómicos e informáticos, y lo y lo plasma adecuadamente a lo largo de toda la novela.
Esta novela es bastante introductoria con respecto a los personajes. En futuras entregas seguro que evolucionan y cada uno de ellos tiene un arco del personaje muy pronunciado.
Deseando leer la segunda parte de esta saga ☺️👏🏽

Good idea, but slow moving
I was disappointed in this book, especially after reading several glowing reviews. It got off to a good start, but stalled for most of the book after that. It started to get interesting again when I was nearly to the end. I am curious about what happens in the next book, but if the writer did not vastly improve his story telling skills, it is not worth my time. If I had seen a more honest review, I would not have wasted any time on this book.

Una buena historia
La humanidad amenazada y la lucha por no desaparecer. Personajes con los diferentes matices de nuestro día a día, cada uno
con sus angustias y sueños. Una buena dosis de imaginación del autor nos permite ver lo que sus personajes ven y sienten. Un poco de humor, suspenso y una narración donde siempre pasan cosas. Recomendable. Compraré el segundo libro

Enjoyed this book from start to finish. Although it's science fiction, it's based on lots of facts. When the book is set, travel through space like this could be achievable. Even the exoplanet that is the destination has been in the news recently for having signs of life. I think I will look out for the next book, as this one leaves you not knowing the outcome of Project Orpheus.

7% through…it is now a DNF.
I know it is not a long way through but the writing is like it has been written by an early teenager.
My biggest gripe is the lack of science fiction imagination e.g over 250 years in the future but the author describes a house exactly as it is now (in 2026) except for holograms instead of pictures.

Muy entretenida la historia que se narra, aunque muchos elementos de la trama pueden hallarse en otras obras del mismo género. La narrativa estilo bitácora y el desarrollo lineal de la historia en lenguaje sencillo, permiten avanzar ágilmente a través de los conflictos y sus resoluciones.

Me ha gustado. Es un libro ligero, se lee muy fácil y la historia engancha. Aunque es verdad que la historia comienza con mucha acción, en algunos momentos se ralentiza un poco. Aún así, es buen comienzo de saga. Seguro que leeré el siguiente.

The catastrophe that starts the book would result in a significantly bigger Earth's wobble and dramatic climate shifts. Tides would be 40% or less of current strength, dramatically reducing their ability to clean the Earth and wiping out loads of marine organisms.
The redundancy of having a second ship is pointless if that ship is 5 years away.
Page 37- Cabernet Sauvignon is most definitely not white wine
Page 60- Trashing all belief in God leaves you with no morality at all- none. There is no right or wrong. There are no shoulds or oughts in such a world. No God means that all of us are just a bag of chemicals who go through meaningless interactions with each other.
Page 61- So, if all members of the expedition have implants that allow instant communication, how come LT Beaufort had to leave a message for his boss?
The book gets better toward the end. Looking forward to the second book.
