One has 8 short years to get a child to read proficiently. After 8, it's almost impossible for the children to catch up with his fellow students. Why? Because at 8 years old, one starts to READ to LEARN, and leaves the job of LEARNING to READ behind.

Getting Reading Right provides strategies to help.
