Another enjoyable tale set in the old and Wild West. Mr. Morris continues to find ways to tell compelling stories in this era. The drama felt real, although the resolution again felt rushed. I’d enjoy more time to get to experience the “happy ending.” Somehow, Morris finds ways to make the resolution happen closer and closer to the final sentence of the book. Personally, I’d prefer the story to have an epilogue of sorts that wraps up the tale, especially since he takes so long to return to any of these characters in future books.

I am not always very interested in Westerns but I love the history that is included in Glilbert Morris's House of Winslow series. I enjoyed this book a lot, both for the history and better understanding of how the range wars started and for the heartwarming characters that played out the events.

This was a good book in the series. It followed another of Sky Winslow's sons, Dan. He is the fourth of the siblings that have been written about. It is interesting how each of the siblings went in different directions. After the civi war, Dan left the former southern plantation and became a cowboy. it is an entertaining story

Wonderful read.

God works in mysterious ways even in the old west. House of Winslow series is a wonderful read in how God works in our lives even when we don't know it or think we deserve it.

All Time Favorite

This was the first book I had ever read by Gilbert Winslow. I read it in 8th grade and he has been a favorite ever since. I have read it many times, but still love it just as much!

Good suspense with the cattle drive and then getting settled on the ranch. Cowboy life was a hard life. Never knowing if someone was going to shoot you if they didn't like what you did to them would be hard, especially where there really was no lawman except for in the towns. Liked how Dan was able to accept Christ and feel the peace that comes from letting him into your life. Glad I didn't live during this time period.

This series by Gilbert Morris is one of my absolute favorites. Each book follows at least one member of a generation in the Winslow family tree and the member(s) gets saved and finds true love. There's also some commentary on the social conditions of the time frame. Truly interesting.

I enjoying reading Gilbert Morris books. This one was kind of a palate washer before getting into The Zealot. My son recommended that book to me.
