The Military History of the World
This was an interesting book. It was kind of a pass through the history of military tactics and the different regimes that employed them. This book started out in ancient times and went up into current times. I was impressed by the author's knowledge of detail. The book covered sweeping wars like the two world wars right up until more minor colonial wars for independence, or kingdoms in Asia and India that might not be known to a western audience.

The author has another thorough analysis of this topic so enjoy the reading. The impact of the world's military is often not recognized in how it affects nations in their early development. Several of the most important ones are discussed and the authors describes how they changed specific nations and ultimately changed the world around them.
