★ 4 strapped stars! ★

The ending was just a big bundle of nope. I'm crying. Wow, I cannot believe that just happened. I'm in book-shock!

This is going to be a short review.

This damn book! It was so intense, the relationship between Taylor and Shy.

I still don't like Taylor, he's sort of an anti-hero in the series, I don't think he's suppose to be the tortured-turn-sweet kind of love interest but I don't know. Taylor is still very much detached to his emotions, he's not human at all -- with the exception for when he's with Shy. But other than that he's just an angsty big thang.

Shy was okay, I kept screaming at the book due to her not communicating enough with Taylor. But it's understandable since Taylor isn't much of a talker. Lol. She was the entire opposite of Taylor's character, talkative, open minded, displayed emotion.

OMG ANYTHING, SOMETHING THAT REALLY BUGGED ME AND IS ANOTHER REASON WHY I DONT LIKE TAYLOR IS.. Because he aswell as her ex-co-worker and bestfriend pressured her into taking ecstasy......... It really shocked me that she did it.

I have very conflicted emotions about the series but I can't seem to stop reading. They way Nina G. Jones creates the suspense and thrill is just amazing to experience!

I don't know what else to say, I was kind of left mind-blown, speechless and second guessing Taylor and Eric's characters..

3.5-4 WTF-Just-Happened Stars!!

I am torn! I don't know what to think anymore, the ending was like Whaaaaattt!! will someone tell me whats going on? I'm confused and lost..I need answers to all the questions that are going around in my head.

This book starts off where book 1 finished where Eric is at Shyla's apartment. At the end of book 1 I was shocked and like omg everything is so messed up.I never expected things to get much worse but helloo book 2 and welcome to hell!

So many twists, lies, betrayal and much more.By the end of this book I was speechless and I had goosebumps. The way I felt about the characters kind of changed dramatically and I really don't know where they stand.

After the encounter with Eric, Taylor comes and after discussing the danger and the situation Eric has put them in they formulate a plan which will help in keeping Eric as far away from them and he wont be able to cause them problems.Okay I was all for getting rid of Eric when I found out what happened in book one but this one things were different. Was the masked man really Eric? If not who the hell is this guy!! Omg what if it was Taylor and this was all a ploy to get rid of Eric? Ohhh the questions and answers? Where are you?!

You find out more about Taylors mother as Shyla finds new information, and also a link between Taylor and Shyla. After her mother reveals some vital info more secrets begin to unfold.unfold. Shyla and Taylor's relationship is a struggle at times he is really closed off in matters and it infuriated me.I think Shyla should have told him about his mother a while back but Taylor's response made me take a step back.

Okay Taylor, oh what to say about him! I thought he was a good guy with problems after the past he had who could blame him right? But by the end of this book I'm not sure what to think of him? Did his past make him evil? He isn't that little boy anymore but his past will always be a large part of him.I just don't know what to think.

'He is infected'

The first half of the book was a little slow for my liking but the last half was fast, gripping and I couldn't stop reading.I can't wait to see how this story unfolds and what more is to come.

When I read book 1, I said there was a comparison to that "other" book but I have to say a well done to Nina Jones because she completely turned this around and produced a very different Taylor. He became his own man (although still flawed and still not liking to be touched) we see very different character development.

the development of this story also floored me because it got a lot darker and I wondered where she could take this flawed man and his flawed girlfriend?

Gripping, intense, a sit on the edge of your seat read. Looking forward to what she is going to develop in book three and what curve ball will she throw into Taylor's and Shylar's relationship. How will this end?

Well, here we go again ... In this book Taylor behavior gets more creepy and I, in Shy place, would want to run away from him with a bloody scream. I don't get him and Shyla at all, I don't feel their big connection and relationship and so called sex-chemistry is turn off for me. I'm very sorry, I don't want to be mean, I simply didn't love these two. On the romantic front book failed me.
The only plus for me is that the author is able to keep the intrigue, so even that I did not like the book I'm still curious how it will end.

5 DARK TWISTED MIND FUCKED STARS!

The Blurb:

Note: This is not a stand alone novel. Strapped (book 1) should be read before Strapped Down.

Ahhhh what to say, how to rate?? I loved this book, I hated this book!!! Fucking quandary!! I loved the first book Strapped. Strapped Down had a different vibe. Who the fuck is Taylor? We see new traits emerge in the 2nd book. Early on regarding his solution to Eric I got uncomfortable, the E I was saying in my head... Shy "just say no!" The shooting range scene I loved!!! Don't judge! I'm fucked up like that! The ending, "infected" ahhhhh wtf just happened!!!!!
What really happened to the mother???
Randall knows more than he's letting on or he's a closet psychic.
Henry, Kristin was there a point to that??
WHO the FUCK was in the suit????????
This book took a much darker twist... I like dark... I really do!!
Usually when I read a book the bad guy or anti-hero is made known from the beginning.....then I either warm to him....or not. I feel like I was mindfucked here because I thought Taylor was the good guy, albeit a troubled, complicated good guy. Now I'm not so sure who or what he is. I give big props to the author for this fresh twist. See!!! I'm torn!!! Totally original, super hot sex, but more questions than answers!!!
I want no NEED to know!!!!
4.5 complicated, troubled, dark stars.

Taylor is a force like we have never seen.
If you've read the first one...you must get this one asap.
Story is not a cliffhanger but so many unanswered issues.
What's up w/Henry and Izzy? Henry and Kristen?
There was great character development. Book flowed very well.
Buy it..you will love it.....
Nina will do another one......I just know it.

I think I will just say these people are fucking crazy! There are so many twist and turns to this story and lies, upon lies. I think Taylor is a lot crazier than I anticipated as well and I usually like them crazy but this guy is really starting to worry me.

This book continues from where the last book finished. You are in Shyla’s apartment and Eric is there with her. Eric says that he just wants to talk to her, get her to understand Taylor and open up to the fact that there is some kind of feelings between them. Eric wants to know if she feels the same connection that he did when they first met. “And I think you liked me too, and I need you to think back to that day at the bar and realize that I am the same guy and you can trust me.”

Taylor storms into the apartment after hearing this on the phone call, this is where Shyla’s life seems to take a bit of a twisted turn. They come up with a scenario that would punish Eric for all that he has done to Shyla and also to Taylor. She agrees that it is the best thing to do, this causes Eric to go on the run and Shyla constantly looking over her shoulder. Eric’s visit to her, has made her have some questions and she is unsure what to do with them.

Trying to move on from Eric’s attack, Shyla soon gets some more information from the investigator that she struggles with, she doesn’t quite know how to tell Taylor or even to tell him at all. She goes on a visit to see her mum, which seemed like a good idea for her and Taylor to have some time apart. However once Taylor’s name is mentioned in a conversation things seem to get closed off between them. Her mum goes into a shell and doesn’t talk to Shyla about what it is that bothers her. A few weeks later the answers as to why she suddenly closed off become clear. We find out that Taylor and Shyla have known each other a lot longer than they thought.

The relationship between Taylor and Shyla in this book seems to have become quite trying and at times a struggle. This is because of the secrets Shyla is keeping and also because all is not as it appears with Taylor. They still have their very intimate and adventurous sex life, but the personal aspect of their relationship seems to be in trouble. Taylor seems to open up at times and then close off as quickly at other times. “I love you. You may not hear me say this much, and you might even question it because of the way I am, or the things I do, but when you do, think back on this moment and know that it will never change.”

The ending to this book, much like the first you want to know why it has ended there. You also want to know what happens next in their story. This book, had many more twists in it then the first and at times has you questioning everything and everyone. Taylor is defiantly not who he seems to be, or its made to look that way. I need to know the answers. Well done Nina G Jones on another completely gripping read.

This second book in the Strapped series blew me away! It picks up exactly where book 1 ends, but with an added bonus of a prologue from Taylor's POV; and what a treat it is to read this man's thoughts!
This second book is loaded with conflict and poor decisions by almost every character, making me uncomfortable, anxious, and raptly glued to every word. I often found myself internally chanting "No, no, nooo." It was like watching a potential collision: you can see it coming, but as an observer, there is nothing to be done for it but watch and tense for impact.
"This is so bad." I say. "Shhh..." he whispers into my ear. "There's no such thing if it makes you feel good."
The sex is definitely ramped up; it's edgier and much more erotic. When physically confronted with Taylor’s past of endless, meaningless, sexual encounters, Shyla becomes extremely upset and insecure. To prove his devotion to her, Taylor enacts a scene which is so sexy, twisted and stimulating, I don’t think I will ever forget it.
“It’s always been you. Do you understand? Before I even knew you, it was you. No one else. You aren’t number 36, you’re number one. You’re my first."
There is an overriding anxiousness due to mystery and intrigue while Shyla continues the investigation into Taylor's past and the C.O.S. cult. A huge secret is revealed, creating a delicious twist I never saw coming for Shyla and Taylor.
While Taylor is the hero of this series, I believe he's also the villain. To what extent, we do not know, but that's part of what's so captivating about this series. Shyla isn’t the only one questioning where she stands in regards to Taylor’s manipulation; I am as well! Some scenes are uncomfortable and a bit disturbing, but so crazy hot I’m turned on, craving more, and completely unable to stop reading.
"It's you two against the world, isn't it? I sincerely hope you can stay happy, but so often what is born from tragedy, will end in tragedy"
I think this statement succinctly demonstrates the overall theme of this series. The foreshadowing of impending doom has me extremely anxious and eager to continue with book three.

4.5 Stars...Another wow from me and this series!!!! SERIOUSLY!!!!! There were questions answered and new questions developed. Even a few things proven that I suspected, along with things that SHOCKED me. But I loved it.

Strapped Down had many more steamy scenes. Honestly a few too many. BUT, there were two fave sex scenes!!! The pool and the club!! Holy Batman has lost his pants hot!!!

The plot again makes this story sore but I still wish the romantic connection was deeper. Although, in this sequel we see Taylor's love so much more and that was a pleasant thing.

Moving straight to book 3!!!

DNF.... at 17%

I just felt like the plot kind of plummeted and usually when reading, I feel joy and excitement and I can't stop reading but with this book, I found excuses not read it and when I was reading it, I felt like I was just reading to pass the time. I feel that eventually I might come back to this book but at the moment, I'm going to have to leave it. It wasn't horrible so I won't give it a rating, I just got bored.

This was just as bad as the first book in this series.

Taylor and Shyla's relationship is really not something that should be romanticized, and I'm not talking about the BDSM/dom/sub aspect of it, but rather the part where Shyla mentions (multiple times throughout the book, I might add) that as long as she has Taylor, she doesn't need a therapist and won't feel the need to self-harm... "I know myself and who I am. I don’t need to see a therapist as long as I have him to guide me through the shadows." + "The cutting grounded me; it focused me. Now that I’m back here with Taylor, I don’t need it anymore. He grounds me." - It's just extremely toxic and problematic and not something I can read and enjoy.

And then this book was just really, really boring—I didn't care for any of the characters; they're all horrible, horrible people. Now that Shyla is with Taylor and therefore can't cheat on Rick anymore, the cheating stick got passed to her best friend Kristin, who cheats on Shyla's boss. I didn't care for the Children of the Stars plotline whatsoever, I didn't care for Eric and that whole thing, and what the fuck was with the ecstasy scene? Taylor literally manipulates Shyla into doing drugs. What's hot or romantic about that?

The only thing I wanted was to get some answers about the whole rape thing, because I suspected Taylor from the beginning of this book. Then, when Shyla FINALLY has the opportunity to ask Eric about it (and he also mentions multiple times that he didn't do it), Shyla just ignores it?! Girl... i read this entire book for nothing and i hate myself for wasting my time

Proof read your flippin' book! The extra words or missing words are so annoying and throughout the whole book. The pacing was better in this second installment, but honestly didn't feel like much happened in terms of character development. The story and bombshells were more frequent, so I think it was to be expected, once the characters were established in the first book. Despite this, it all just started to feel a bit too unbelievable, a bit too crazy all these coincidences and I find myself waiting for the book to be over. There is definitely some foreshadowing/unanswered questions, surely to be revealed in the final installment.

Didn’t love the first book but decided to read second since I was already partially committed to the series. Shyla has big “pick me” energy in this installment making her even more unbearable than the first. The plot twist was good which I why I did 3 stars instead of 2 but the way Shyla handled it was so annoying.

The plot is starting to feel overly chaotic and all over the place despite the surprising twist. Unless Taylor’s relationship with Eric relates back to the C.O.S stuff somehow I really don’t think this installment needed the drama from both avenues

Like many others I'm not sure what to think. I want to like Taylor so bad and hate Eric for everything but this book confuses everything for me. Haha It very intense and I'm very glad I'm not Shyla I know I could not handle all that. Haha

So I thought Shyla was a weak, stupid heroine in book one, but it was the book that was rated the lowest in this trilogy so I figured this book would be her acting less idiotically. Nope, she's just as unlikeable and keeps making totally stupid choices in this one too.

“It’s that moment when you realize that the thing that makes others squirm is the thing that takes you to your height. It makes you come out of yourself and be free in a way you never could otherwise. And somehow, it makes you feel powerful.”

This book is that moment. And it’s not always pretty. In fact that moment when you step outside of the all confines is rarely a moment later looked upon for it’s ease or fond memories. It’s often messy, gritty and very, very real. Coated in blood and sweat and tears. And it’s worth every minute. Because that’s what we’re all after, isn’t it? That freedom?

Taylor Holden is an excavator of human nature. He is a force to be reckoned with and in this book we see him come fully alive. That moment he says those three words for the first time in his life, and says “I love you,” to Shyla is his moment. When he sloughs the last of his ropes and soars. And the gift of being able to watch that happen is both my wildest dream and an excruciating nightmare. He has moments of such heartbreaking tenderness and then can just as easily sweep into stone cold ruthlessness depending on what is called for. He is the ultimate chameleon and with Shyla by his side? He is invincible.

Shyla continues her journey down into her darker sides but she keeps her huge heart with her at all times, even when it’s grossly out of place. She has her moments in this book where we can see her unfettered potential and she is glorious to be sure. But they are only glimpses and I cannot wait to watch this woman relinquish her self-imposed constraints and fly.

Together they have several intense and incredible moments in this book. There is a perfect combination of trust, letting go, power, love and devotion that all comes together to let these two characters come together in a way that you rarely see. It's that transfer of power, that absolute, flayed wide-open connection that happens that absolutely guts me. Every single time.

Nina G. Jones continues to prove herself a master storyteller with this book. Her pacing is a stroke of genius. There are several bombs to be dropped in this book and she takes her time with every single one of them setting them up perfectly and then gently places them right in your lap, wrapped up in a pretty black bow.

Her dialogue is even more of a joy to read in this book as she introduces a higher level of humor that serves to balance all of the other emotions running wild throughout the story. And her feast of the senses continues only amped up 11.
There are two scenes in this book that completely undid me because of their stark honesty and because the author doesn’t cringe away from pushing her characters’ boundaries all the way so that we have no choice but to go all the way right along with them.

And that is the ultimate brilliance of this book. I didn’t just watch the characters have their moments of transcendence; I got to have them with them. For a moment, totally suspended in bliss, love and trust.

Plus it’s just a bloody good story.

This is the second book in the Strapped series and I think that Strapped Down is so much more over the top amazing than Strapped . I think that Author Nina G Jones has hit her self a home run with this book because she has hit this one way out of the park. I can say now I am a huge fan of hers.

As I sat down and started reading this book I was hooked because it left off where the other book ended. This book blow me away from the start because she book took so many twist and turns I never knew what was going to happen next. This book was so full of so much action I thought I would get wipe lash . I was on the edge of my seat and biting my nail from the every start and all the way to the end. I was so hooked on this book I could not put it down until I finish the every last pages and even then I message and ask when I could have more . This book is full of hot strong as hell Alpha men that will have you needing a cold shower . The sexual chemistry in this book should come with a fire extinguisher because it smoking hot.

Shayla and Taylor are learning so much about each other and that is where the challenge begins for them. As they learn about each other they find out about each other secrets. They try to come to terms with each other secrets by trying to help each other. Shayla try's help Taylor by going to dark lengths to make Eric pay for what he has done to Shayla and Taylor. But that when things from their past come out . But as they try to seat up Eric they learn things about their past they had no idea about.
