St Margaret Mary: her autobiography

Rate this book
In this historical manuscript, the autobiography of a Saint, we find the origin of the world-wide spread of devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Written at the bidding of her Superior, Margaret's French presented difficulties to Fr. Vincent Kerns, who has translated and introduced it:
"St Margaret Mary's autobiography proves uncomfortable reading in places, and contains passages that can only apply to chosen souls. Be that as it may, these pages allow us to look wonderingly and humbly into the soul of a saint. They give us the first-hand account of the revelations of the Sacred Heart - and are invaluable for this alone."

Nice, small autobiography of the great nun who introduced the Church to the devotion to the Sacred Heart, coupled to the First Friday devotion and the holy hour of adoration. A frighteningly intense soul with a great love for Christ, her level of devotion seems unsuitable to most and yet... is it not necessary, subjectively, at least to a degree.

Sr. Margaret Mary is an incorruptible and apparently caused two spontaneous cures the moment her body was exhumed. Her intercession on behalf of all who call upon her is guaranteed by Christ himself.
