A great romantic suspense story with a captivating plot and characters that were easily likeable and interesting to read about.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I love to settle down to a book which has romance, passion, suspense, and a certain mystery to it when it comes to which way the book is going to go and what is going to happen next and this story had all of this.

Firstly the characters were great.
Katie was strong, feisty, sweet and a character I could easily relate to and feel for. She seems very unlucky with everything that happens to her but she is always moving forward and continuing to live her life no matter what is thrown at her. She is a strong female lead who is easy to like.

Jacob was beyond adorable. He had alpha male elements definitely but I couldn't stop thinking that he was just so sweet and protective. I loved that he played no games when it came to what he felt for Katie, he was perfectly happy making his feelings clear to his teammates and brother even knowing they would disagree.

I did however have a hard time with Jacob's brother Eli. I really didn't like him through most of the book, he seemed mean and a bit of a bully when it came to telling Jacob what to do but then right near the end we seemed to see a slightly different side to him and if this continues in the next book then I could see myself liking his character a lot more.
Oh and I have to mention Hauk!! I love when animals are including within a story and Hauk was the best dog! Hopefully he continues to have a part in the next book.

The plot was captivating. It had a good pace, when the suspense slowed down a bit we had passion and their relationship to read about and then it would pick up with Katie getting in horrible situations. And throughout the whole book I kept wanting to know what happened that night in the warehouse and who was causing Katie all the problems, so overall the story definitely kept me hooked and interested the whole way through.

We don't really get many answers to a lot of the questions in this first book, but it didn't bother me as much as it has done with previous stories because there was plenty happening that kept me reading.

I can't wait to read the next book now to find out what is happening, who is behind everything that is going on and where Katie and Jacob's relationship is going (especially after what her and Jacob talk about in the epilogue!)

**JOSIE'S REVIEW**

*4.5 Stars*

I absolutely loved this story. I did the mistake of not reading some parts because I thought it was just too much information and that was the wrong move. All that information was necessary in order to understand the complexity of the Reed brother and the company. I happen to love a book that has love, suspense, crime, really hot sex and a hot alpha male named Jacob Reed.

The characters in this story are great and I fell in love with them from the start. Jacob is a total book boyfriend and made me swoon. I love me a good strong alpha male character, and Jacob was that and more. He is caring, sweet and protective of Katie Wilson. Jacob is the CEO of Reed Software and Securities Company. Jacob and his team are a covert team and work for the government for highly dangerous jobs. Jacob has always had a thing for the beautiful Channel reporter Katie Wilson. He would always watch her news and admire the beautiful woman. Their paths cross on a mission he and his team are on. When things go wrong, he does not hide his strong protectiveness for Katie, regardless of how they would be against it. Eli, Reed’s brother and the lead man on the team, is highly unlikable. I have to say that even at the end I still got an uneasy feel with him. He seems shady, closed off and there is something VERY wrong with him. The Special Ops team consists of Lulu, Clint, Tyler, Mason Nick, Rush and Julian, each team member brings so much to the table and you find yourself wanting to know about them. Wait I forgot about Hauk, Reed’s dog, BEST DOG EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Katie Wilson, what can I say, she is the woman we all want to be. She is fearless and is not afraid to get dirty to get a story. One night she and her cameraman, Tully, are trying to get the story that was emailed to her from an unknown source. Things go wrong for Katie and Tully…terribly wrong. A year later she is still trying to move on with her life after that painful night and the memories that seem scattered and shaky. I found her to be a strong female character and I was able to relate to her.

A year after their last crossing, Jacob is constantly watching Katie, without her knowledge. When fate once again throws the two back together Jacob is determined not to let anyone and anything take Katie away again. Jacob does not tell Katie what his real job is or how one year ago he and his team changed her life dramatically. When danger comes crashing into Katie’s front door, Jacob will do anything to keep her safe. That includes getting his team on board even if they do not agree with his choice to not let go of Katie.

When Jacob and Katie finally get together, it is so sweet, passionate and hot. I want a Jacob, you know what I mean Alpha-Take-Charge-Kicka$$-Man.

“You’re so soft. Oh, no. I’m taking my time with you, woman. Next time, love. Let me take care of you tonight.”

“Please Jacob, please.”

“Open those beautiful blue eyes, sweetheart. I want to see them when I push into, as you take me inside and come for me.”

Throughout the story you are trying to find out what happened at the warehouse and where the danger and threat is coming from. While praying to all Gods and Heaven that when the truth comes out Katie and Jacob are strong enough to work it out.

“Somebody please explain something. I already know Julian, but I don’t know why you are here. And that one looks like the guy from your lobby. We met yesterday but I need the rest of you to explain.”

“Sweetheart, why don’t you sit down so I can explain a few things? Sweetheart please let me explain.”

“Okay but if you don’t mind, I’ll stay right here. I’ve had enough of being attacked this week. Who are all you people?”

“We’re part of an anti-counterterrorism team loosely associated with the government.”

“I don’t think I like this conversation, Jacob. What is it that you haven’t told me? Or still haven’t said?”

“I loved you for a really long time, Katie. Even before I met you a year ago, in March.”

I was pulled into the story by trying to find out what was going on. We do not get much but I hope book 2 will bring more answers because we are still left wondering what is going on. I also cannot wait to see what will come from Jacob and Katie’s relationship. The epilogue is epic it will make you want MORE!!!!

I received a complimentary copy from the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Jacob Reed & Katie Wilson are two total opposite types of people!!
Jacob Reed AKA Reed, is CEO of Reed Software & Security Company and Special Ops guy.
Katie Wilson is sexy, sassy, Channel 5 reporter.

Reed has had the hots for Katie for a long while, but has yet to lay eyes on her in the flesh, that is until Katie does her nosey reporter bit and sneaks into a warehouse in which Reed and friends are carrying out an off the record covert op for the government.
Katie and her reporter friend cause a little chaos and Reed has to save the day but is shocked when he comes face to face with his ultimate fantasy. Katie.

After the fateful night that Reed nearly lost Katie forever he can't keep his distance, much to his brothers instructs Reed just can't stay away he has to know she is safe and not remembering anything. I think he forgets her seeing him could trigger a memory of the night she lost her friend and all she is left with is a fuzzy memory.

Situations lead Reed and Katie too come face to face and Katie cant help but like what she sees. Reed is a good looking guy after all but does he trigger any memories that him and his company are hoping to kept hidden?

As a relationship progresses between these two what will the outcome be?
Will Katie find out the truth of the night her friend/colleague died?
Will she find out Reed has been watching her for a while?
Will these two get the ending they deserve?

5 stars for flashpoint and I will be keeping my eyes peeled for more work by this author!

I loved this book! I was in its grips from the very first page. The first two words were Jacob Reed and I started thinking about him from the first sentence. Who was he? What had he done? Why? I don’t know about you, but that’s one of my top 5’s when it comes to things I like about a book.
What didn’t I like about the book? Now that IS a hard question. Chapter One also introduced me to the two main characters but it wasn’t like until their paths crossed in chapter two, but not how you would imagine and it definitely wasn’t your typical sexy girl meets hot guy.
As this book progressed, I was drawn into the tangled web that woven but it wasn’t long before those threads started to unravel. This book had me on the edge of seat almost from the very beginning and I found it very difficult to put it down to do mundane things like housework and sleeping. I also ignored my computer because I needed to know what was going to happen next.
Now this is Book One in the Reed series and even though it doesn’t end on a cliff hanger, I was very aware that the story is not finished. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and I hope there will be many more because there were so many characters who I hope will have their own books.
I gave Flashpoint 5 out of 5 stars.

Meg's Review:
I really enjoyed this book. Sometimes I am not a fan of the romance with a mix of action and suspense, but this one kept my attention.

I will admit, it did take me a little to get into it, but once I did I had to know what would happen. I became enthralled with the storyline and wanted to see where it was going.

Jacob and Katie have an interesting relationship through the story. I really annoyed Katie as a character and once we really got down to the nitty-gritty with the storyline she developed really well. She was relatable and quite the spitfire.

Jacob annoyed me a bit. I felt like he needed to just go for what he wanted, but I understood why things went the way they did. It wasn't all his fault. When he finally though the reigns it was very intriguing to watch the way he validated things to himself in his not so private thoughts. (Don't you just love it being a book and not a TV show?)

Even with it taking me a bit to get into the story, it wasn't boring in the least. From the very start the book is high paced. Its also an easy read, not to much jammed in. I felt like it answered just enough questions to appease me, but left enough hanging in the air to keep me wanting. I will definitely be reading the next book in the series.

"Received and ARC for an honest review"

I couldn't be more than grateful of receiving this ARC. I was more that excited to read what seemed a good story, and was taken aback of what an awesome book it was. I just love a great romantic suspense, those are my favorite. Combine it with an alpha character that is into technology such as Jacob Reed, the CEO of Reed Security and I was done for.

This has become one of my top fav on the list of next book to look forward to read. I just can't get enough of Jacob and Katie. I need to know what will come upon them next. What mysteries are we going to uncover and most of all what will become of their love and life together.

I'm certain that everyone who decides to read this will become as attached to as I am, this book hangover will be the death of me. All I can add is that as soon as I turned and finished the last page I stood up and gave the author a big ovation after making me read from start to end with no pause at all! I even ordered take out for my family.

Just go to your favorite ebook store and click on buy, you will not regret it and blame me for having to jump into the wagon with me to impatiently wait for next installment.

To M.C. Cerny ... I'm claiming Jacob Reed as my Hot Book Boyfriend and not giving him back.

Looking for a quick read? Well this book is it. I was amazed at how fast I flew threw this book. I am a big fan of military turned civilian romances. This one is no exception. I loved the two main characters, Jacob and Katie. Jacob Reed is the CEO of Reed Software and Securities. He has one foot in the corporate world and one in the covert ops world. The fact that he has brawn as well as brains and is a man dime that loves his dog makes me melt. Katie Wilson is an up and coming news reporter who is always chasing down a hot lead. She is gutsy, stubborn and full of moxie. You gotta love a heroine with moxie.
This story was well written. It not only had you on the edge the whole time but also sparked your curiosity. As I was reading I kept on asking myself if this person was a friend or foe. What was their angle? What did they have to gain? Such is the world of covert operations. You never know whom you can trust. These elements along with the love story made for a quick read. I am really hoping this is not the last we have heard from MC Cerny or the men and woman of Reed Security. I think there are lots of stories to be told.

Flashpoint was such a fun read. A thriller and romance novel all wrapped into one.

The book starts off with Jacob Reed, a millionaire and specialist in military operations.
To say that Jacob is hot, is a huge understatement!! He is pretty much every girls dream man. He owns a software business in New York City, and is also a part time GI Joe. Problem is, Jacob is completely over it. He wants out of the special operations team. He is ready to settle down, meet a nice young girl and raise a family.
Thing is, he knows exactly what girl he wants. She, on the other hand has no idea who Jacob is!! Seems fate has a way of making them come together in the most tragic way.

Katie one of New York Cities young news reporters in the rise, will stop at nothing to get news! She loves her job and she is very good at it. She just has no idea that her work ethic will put her life in danger.
Katie gets a huge lead in a case that she though had gone cold, a case that Jacob and his crew are also about to take down. Katie gets caught in a stream of bad luck and her and Jacob look like they will never get their chance.

This book is non stop thrilling action that will grab your attention from the first chapter!

Romance and suspense are two of my favourite types of reads but put them together and it’s a winning package. While I have my reservations about certain points of the story, it was still a really good read that was action packed.

When Katie, news broadcaster, stumbles across an op being run by Jacob Reed and his band of non-governmental agency crew they can't risk her digging any further into the situation. Jacob has admired Katie from afar and can't stay out of her life despite being ordered to. But with the bad guys close on their tails and a jealous co-worker out to destroy Katie, Katie is in danger and Jacob won't allow that.

The main events happen over a year apart where Jacob remains in protective mode towards Katie. It is action packed and keeps on the edge of your seat for the most part of it. Jacob is certainly a guy you want on your side with his incredibly protective nature but equally Katie is very strong and capable of looking after herself. While lots of secrets get revealed throughout, there are still plenty more that need unravelling. I am really looking forward to seeing what happens next in the series

From page one of this book the reader is slowly, and I mean slowly, brought into the saga of gangland crime and Rambo style heroics by the elite team of private hire soldiers led by a pair of high flying business men brothers. Alongside them there is the beautiful TV news reporter who got caught up in an operation completely unwittingly as her cameraman friend dragged her off on a lead for a story. The story unfolds at a slow pace centering around the fact that someone obviously believes the reporter learned more than she thinks and there we have the opening for the man....

Although everything seemed to go at a snails pace for most of the book it actually came together in an intricate plot that couldn't have survived the telling at any other pace or way. Just when you think that something was totally irrelevant the plot reveals just why it was there and why it had to be told in that way. Definitely worth a read!

This was an amazing book! I was hooked by the 3rd page. Jacob is a part of an agency that is covered up by his software firm. He is the CEO of the family business. He is a nerdy man that would rather have a computer to fix then anything else. He went home to watch the new every night to drool over Katie Wilson. Katie is a news reporter for the 6:00 news. She is an independent woman that doesn't like to be told how to live. She got an email one night and she had to follow the lead. Well that ended up in a disaster and Jacob came to the rescue. He vowed to his brother Eli that he would stay away from her. A year later another tragic event happened and they were brought back together. You can feel the tension between some of the other members of the crew but it's amazing how everyone has their own job. Does Jacob revile the truth about what he does to Katie or does he keep acting like nothing happened and love her forever? I really hope there more books to this series.

This was a great book. Full of adventure and romance. It centers on Katie Wilson. She is a top news reporter at the tv station. The other person it features is Jacob Reed. CEO of Reed Securities. This is a security company that designs high tech software for the government and some prestigious clients. Jacob goes on missions as a spy to help with crime. A year prior to Jacob dating Katie he meet her during a spy mission and they wiped her memory clean. During this mission she lost her dear friend and cameraman Tully. The told her she was drunk and thrown from the car in a wreck in which her friend was killed. A year later Jacob had to meet her. He was falling in love with her from afar. He wanted to protect her from danger. This is such a good read and I finished it in one sitting. I know you will find it great also. Great romance

I love when romance meets action. This book was a great read. I can't wait for the next installment in this series. To start the characters were amazing! I loved Katie. She is the kind of girl you can relate to. Then there is Jacob Reed... I mean I don't even know where to begin on him Hot Alpha male (for starters maybe). I might just have a new book boyfriend here.

The plot has plenty of mystery and suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat. Like I said I love when romance meets action. All the characters are wonderfully written. They come to life on the pages. I want to say so much more about this book and just gush over it, but no spoilers so READ IT ALREADY. Its great.

3.0 "OVER THE TOP" STARS- I got pulled into reading this by all the great reviews and high ratings but unfortunately it just didn't work for me. I knew when I read the first few pages that this wasn't going to be the most believable story (billionaire software developer by day but secret special ops crusader in his spare time) and that's okay, I have a pretty high tolerance for make believe in my books. This book just kept pushing the limits though. Erasing memories, causing amnesia... it was just too out there for me. This was pretty much off the charts on the bull shit scale. The writing was okay but not a fan of the story. I won't continue with this series.

The book to read! I enjoyed reading about Katie and Jacob....the suspense of the bad things happening, but also I could not wait to see how she was going to handle the truth.....I don't ever give spoilers, I just tell my opinion of the book....I read an average of 5 books a week, and was so glad I picked this one up. It took a while for them to have that love scene, but well worth it! He is a perfect gentleman in all aspects.

I'm truly impressed. This was a complicated, plot-heavy tale of deceit, destruction, and, of course, love. I really couldn't believe MC Cerny tackled such a complex plot for a debut novel. I'm so looking forward to Pulse Point (which releases soon) and getting to know the other players in this dangerous game.

Good beginning, but . . .

I could do without quite as much explicit sexuality. The set up is pretty good with Jacob being both intelligent, rich and athletic. I hope that the future books can expand the action and adventure portion of the story. Very good writing, either way.

> Review – Flashpoint -

>I am an independent reviewer. This is the first book in the Reed series and ends in an HEA. Jacob is a millionaire businessman who is also involved in covert special ops along with his brother, Eli. During a mission, news anchor, Katie is injured and rescued by Jacob. Katie's memories are erased, but the pull Jacob feels toward her is so strong he spends the next year stalking her to make sure she is okay.

>The lengths Jacob goes to keep track of Katie is kind of creepy, but Katie's acceptance of his stalker ways is amazing. I am not sure I would have been as understanding. The special ops team is not the most welcoming to Katie, nor are they understanding toward Jacob as he wants to quit the ops and focus on the company. I really enjoyed Katie and Jacob, but the rest of the teams were unpleasant.

>A lot of the story is not wrapped up. There is a mystery involving human trafficking and designer drugs that isn't totally explained. Some comic relief is introduced in the form of BFF Trevor. I had an issue with the editing. There were some fairly obvious errors that draw the reader out of the story, which is a shame.

>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving it 4 stars.

CEO meets reporter.

CEO billionaire to a software and security company, Jacob Reed, is not all he appears to be. Also deeply entwined in overseas, non governmental covert operations with a deadly mixed group which is led by his brother, he has no inclination or time for relationships,( except for his faithful k9 companion, Hauk,) but that's not to say a certain newsreader/reporter, Katie Wilson, hasn't taken his interest.
When Katie, along with her friend and co worker/cameraman, investigate a prostitution ring all hell breaks loose but Jacob and team are there to save her. Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of his control, Jacob still can't get close to her and she's given a memory altering drug to forget him and the operation. Until, a year on, a mugging can't keep him away anymore.
Albeit a few typos, Flashpoint was written very well, the storyline was quite original and action packed and a little bit of romance was thrown in too, so the whole concept was good...it's the execution I had a problem with. At times the penmanship was very mechanical, it almost read like an instruction manual, there was no depth to the dialogue, characters or style...rushed even. Nevertheless it was an ok read, complex but non graphic.

This was a very good debut from the author. While the plot was familiar, it had a twist to it. The billionaire CEO also worked black ops with his brother's team. His software company made the perfect cover for his work. He has a "crush" so to speak on a reporter but never dreamed his desire to know her would come true. In the wrong place at the wrong time, she is trying to get a story. Instead, he ends up rescuing her and things go down hill from there. Very nice love story, a trifle steamy, an interesting plot and well-written characters make this worth your time. It does end with a lot of unanswered questions which will supposedly be answered in the next book.

Disappointing. This had so much potential but fell flat on it face many times. First off Jacob was not what I would describe as an alpha male. He came across as unsure and intimidated by his brother, and serious creepy stalker in the first half of the book. We never found out who was behind the warehouse fiasco, the mugging, and the break in of Katie's apartment. The part where her co worker took her script out of the waste basket was abandon and never followed thru. I am surprised the editor allowed this to go to print with so many different threads in so many different directions with no follow up.

I will say that this book was not for me. I was really interested in reading this book by the description. I started reading the book and was a bit confused due to the multiple perspectives within the first few chapters. I couldn't really get into it. I have nothing bad to say about the book, just that it wasn't for me. I really hope that you will still read the book and form out own opinion of it. This book may just be your all time favorite.

Good start to the series the ending felt a little unfinished but you know that there is going to be another book so you kind of understand that. I loved the way that the main male character acted if it was anyone else you might have ended up disliking him but he was just written so darn likeable. Its a good read.

This was a DNF at 61%. I could not get into this book. It was so slow and at half way through the characters had barely talked to each other. This was very one-sided since Jacob had been obsessed with Katie for years. Sorry, this just didn't do it for me.

3.5 stars. It was a 4-star read until the last few chapters. I felt it was a very quick and abrupt ending. The plot was a bit confusing, but overall it held my interest.
