Rose Gardner Mystery #5

Thirty-Two and a Half Complications

Rate this book
There’s no denying trouble finds Rose Gardner like a divining rod finds water, especially when Rose lands in the middle of a bank robbery. But after the robbers steal her deposit bag — containing a large amount of cash — she soon finds out that trouble is threatening her business as well, thanks to her sister Violet’s financial mismanagement.

To top it off, Rose’s ex-boyfriend, Joe Simmons, has moved back to Henryetta to fill the chief deputy sheriff position. Rose’s involvement as a witness is the perfect opportunity for Joe to reinsert himself into her life. But Mason Deveraux, Fenton County Assistant District Attorney and Rose’s new boyfriend, has waited too long for Rose to give her up without a fight.

Rose’s pregnant best friend, Neely Kate, suggests they find the robbers using Rose’s visions and Neely Kate’s knowledge about everyone in town. The women are soon hot on the trail of the stolen money, but Rose is caught off guard when Neely Kate’s snoopiness detects the biggest complication of all: Rose might be expecting a baby of her own.

Thirty-Two and a Half Complications is book five in the Rose Gardner Mysteries by Denise Grover Swank. OH…MY…GOSH!!!!! Why am I so obsessed with this series? I have loved Rose Gardner since the very first book and I’ve said time and time again throughout my reviews how I feel like she is my little sister. That I want to protect her. But I have to say, by the end of this book, I don’t think she needs me anymore. I might even say that Rose Gardner kicked just a little bit of butt!!! She has gotten tough and stands up for what she believes is right. And don’t you dare talk back to Rose Gardner!

 photo tumblr_mzmut18ivE1sei9bco1_400_zps07007420.jpg

We start out with Mason staying with Rose at the old farmhouse Rose was born in. Mason’s house burned down in the last book and he is still recuperating from a broken leg. Mason waited a long time for Rose and they are so happy together. Joe lost his election so he has now moved to town and has accepted the position of Chief Deputy Sheriff. But one might speculate that he took the job just to be close to Rose. He wants to win her back and takes every possible opportunity to insert himself into her life.

“Wherever there’s trouble, you’re in the thick of it, Rose Gardner.”

Right from the first page, Rose is getting herself into impossible situations. She has a bank deposit for a large amount of cash and is at the bank when of course, the bank is robbed. Not only do they rob the bank, take her intended deposit, but she has a vision right in the middle of everything.

“This was just another day in the life of Rose Gardner.”

 photo robber_zpsebfaefbb.jpg

I have been anti-Violet for awhile now and this book did not do anything to help that situation. Violet, Rose’s siter, has been doing a little bit of creative finances with the nursery’s accounts that she co-owns with Rose. And when the bank deposit was stolen in the robbery, Violet is forced to admit what she has done. They are now in serious trouble and could lose the business, unless Rose can get the money back. Rose, along with her very pregnant best friend Neely Kate, use Rose’s visions to try to solve the robbery.

Joe is doing everything in his power to try to get Rose back and he puts some serious strain on Mason and Rose’s relationship. I have been team Mason for quite some time but in this book, I feel like he lost a notch or two of my feelings for him. Rose was right between the two of them and I felt she was being pulled back and forth. She made her feelings known time and time again that she is with Mason now but I still felt like Mason came off as needy at times. I never felt that before in the other books. And Violet, well, that woman makes steam come out of my ears. Ok, can you tell I might be a little bit over-invested here.

If you haven’t started this series yet, please, I beg of you, do! It’s funny, sweet, quirky, and completely addictive. But…Denise Grover Swank…I have to seriously talk to you about this cliff hanger. How can you leave it like that? I have to wait all the way until November 4 for Thirty-Three and a Half Shenanigans. What in the world will Rose get in to next?

Squeeeee! This series just gets better and better. I adore Rose even though she drives me insane sometimes, everyone needs a friend like Neely Kate and Mason is just lovely....Joe needs to go boil his head (sorry Team Mason girl here!), and I even quite like Skeeter Malcolm in this one! Can't wait for the next one!

When the local bank is robbed, the thieves make off with Rose's deposit bag containing $9000.00. If that isn't bad enough she very quickly learns that her sister and partner Violet has been doing some creative accounting and their business is in dire straits. With little choice she starts investigating in the hopes of retrieving the cash and saving her business.

This is such a great book. I really just love this whole series (except the novella that follows but that's another story....err sort of). Rose Gardner is one of my favorite sleuths, I love the minor characters, and the stories are original and entertaining.

Oh Denise. Why do you torture me so? I am #TeamJoe all the way! I thought Thirty-One was bad on my heart. SHEESH! Denise keeps reeling me in. This installment of Rose is brilliant.
Rose has finally grown a pair and seeing her growth since Twenty-Eight is a wonderful thing. Once again, Rose finds herself in the middle of mayhem. What she does to get out of it...well, you'll have to read to find out!

This installment of Rose Gardner does NOT disappoint. In fact, it has to be one of my favorites of them all! <3

Thirty-Two and a Half Complications.

This is the 5th book in a brilliant series and it won’t spoil the plot to say that it starts with a bank robbery, but only Rose would be involved in one that has the robbers wearing a Spongebob and Batman mask!

There are a few ways to describe Rose Gardner; Officer Ernie says that “Wherever there’s trouble, you’re in the thick of it, Rose Gardner.” Or Mason her ADA boyfriend saying, “Trouble finds you like a divining rod finds water”. Rose herself says after calling Mason to come to the bank after the robbery, that it is just another day in the life of Rose Gardner. That sums up this series and what is brilliant about Rose. We all know the only thing we can accuse Rose of is having extremely bad luck. And the fact that she is so sassy!

Rose has grown so much since Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes, and has had to make some tough choices along the way. This book has that same quality we love to expect and sometimes LOL at the one-liners that Denise delivers. Things like describing Rose’s dog as a weapon of mass destruction and she could be used in place of tear gas. Miss Mildred being so shocked over hearing a conversation between Rose and her best friend Neely-Kate that her dentures going flying across the restroom floor!

This book will answer some questions, but there is a cliffhanger that had me saying out loud, “Crappy Doodles!”

I am never disappointed when I am reading anything from Denise, but especially when I am reading about Rose. She is my favourite series gal and Rose truly is a Lady!

LOVED IT!

Deserves 10 big stars! **********

This is one of my all-time favourite series. Denise Grover Swank ("Swank") never disappoints as the story just gets better and better with each passing installment. If you haven't read this series, you're truly missing out on a gem. I loved everything about it. Swank weaves a well-developed story full of mystery, romance, and laughter. Fainting goats? Never heard of this before. Too hilarious. When it comes to the female protagonist, authors should look to Swank to see how she's created such an amazing and loveable character that's grown by leaps and bounds since we were first introduced to her in book 1.

I used to be on team "Joe," but I've been on team "Mason" for quite some time. There are many who are rooting for Joe; however, I'm not one of them. I can't root for a guy who's lied to Rose not once but several times; has slept with another woman while declaring his love for Rose; always jumps to the wrong conclusions without gathering all the details (surprising since he's a cop); has let his family influence who he should be with or what he should do regarding his job; or stand by and do nothing while his father fabricates vicious lies that can ultimately hurt Rose on so many levels. And now that Joe has thrown his hat in with Violet, no good can come from this. I absolutely detest how he criticizes Rose; that she needs help when it comes to running a business; who she hires, or the friends she keeps with; or basically needs someone to hold her hand at every turn. While Joe constantly puts her down, it's Mason who encourages Rose to grow. Some readers believe Mason to be boring. Is it because of his job? How much he supports, respects, and loves Rose? Because his mother loves Rose? Because he treats her like the adult she is? Whatever the reason, I'm in total disagreement. I just hope Swank doesn't follow thru with what Joe said about the reasons why Mason is with Rose as that would just destroy her, her faith in men, and the thought of ever falling in love again. By the way, did anyone notice how Swank gave her readers a much more detailed sexcapade between Mason and Rose? All I can say is Whoo-hoo! and give us more. Talk about sizzle between the two. I don't recall the sex Rose had with Joe to be as hot.

I would like to mention one more thing and that's Rose's sister, Violet. Holy shit! I cannot wait for the day when Violet gets everything that's coming to her. She's the most selfish person that needs to get her ass kicked from here to the moon. Always thinking of herself, her never-ending lies, and her constant belittling of Rose is about to come to a head. It's a moment I'm sure many of us are looking forward to.

I'm already anxious to read the next installment which is due to come out in November, 2014 as I can't believe how this novel ended. And now that Skeeter has declared that Rose is under his protection, things are about to get a little more complicated for Rose.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. I love Rose! And Thirty-Two and a Half Complications just made me love her more. She has come so far since Twenty-Eight. As Rose continues to do what she does best - find trouble, love deeply, make new somewhat-shady friends, and of course, grow - Denise also beautifully builds her relationship with Mason, her friendship with Neely-Kate, and some how manages to make your distaste for Violet stronger. This book is a bit longer than the other Rose books and it still wasn’t long enough. Denise has a way of making you feel like you’re a fly on the wall watching a real life situation with the conversations that flow effortlessly and scenes that fade in and out more seamlessly than a motion picture. Once again I was hit with more emotions in my one-sitting read than I usually experience in a week. I fell in MORE in love with Mason, laughed until my cheeks hurt, cried more times than I’ll admit, and was so angry I almost saw red. Denise leaves us on another cliff-hanger, that will shock you and make you giggle at the irony all at once. I can’t wait for the next installment of Rose’s adventures. Rose readers won’t be disappointed! Happy Reading!

4.5 Complicated Stars...Rose's life becomes more twisted with each moment that occurs...an ex - boyfriend who won't take no for an answer, a vindictive sister who lacks any sense of personal responsibility, and potentially losing her business ( through no fault of her own) which she adores and finds purpose...oh, and let's not forget she is held at gunpoint in a bank robbery, needs to track down her money that was stolen, and manage her impromptu visions (all the while trying to figure out fainting goats...that part cracked me up:))...thank goodness for Mason, Neely Kate, and Bruce Wayne; genuine friends who always have her back and unconditionally love her...I love seeing this spark in Rose as she turns up the sass and let's heads roll; she is no longer the shy, introverted girl but an accomplished, self assured woman who will no longer be controlled and manipulated...she finds herself in situations that are both humorous and heartbreaking, but she always finds her way with heart...a fantastic character with interesting storylines and heartfelt relationships...this series simply continues to get better and better...I absolutely love it:)

* Sad Announcement *

I have fallen out of love with this series.

As a result, I will not be reading any more of these books.

The one-liners that I once thought were witty now seem to be trying too hard. Mason is just too wonderful to be even remotely believable and most of the characters are just annoying me now (except Neely Kate). It just feels like the series has been going too long at this point.

This doesn’t undermine the love I have for the first book; it means I might just google what happens instead of reading the rest of it all.

This is the very first book EVAH that I actually pre-ordered and read the day it hit! I am that into the wonderful world of Rose! It is fun, quirky, sweet and a total indulgent escape every. single. time.

For the first half of this installment, however, I was actually considering letting this one be my last. It seemed as if it was becoming the same 'oL same 'ol.. Same problems, same reactions, same predicaments, same responses. But never fear... Everything slowly changed, switched up and left me panting for more - once again! I'm still not sure I like the place it's going, the deceptions are big and undermine the growth, but I'm still in for the discovery! Bravo once again Denise, bravo!!!

Watching Rose Gardner grow from an insecure girl to a confident young woman in this series has been a delight each book gets better. Come join me in the continuing story of Rose’s remarkable life and read the newest installment of The Rose Gardner Mysteries.

Thirty-two and a Half Complications has mystery, intrigue and humor. Rose must face very adult and exciting choices. Between being involved in bank robberies, auctions for drug territories, finding yet another dead body and the almost certainty of losing her business life is far to complicated. Does she still love Joe? Would she be a good mother? Does Mason really love her or just want revenge on Joe?

I love ALL of the Rose Gardner Mystery series. And Thirty-Two and a Half Complications just may be my favorite. Rose just seems to get into trouble even crossing the street. Although it didn't end how I wished it would have, it still was an excellent read and I cant wait for the next adventure Rose will have.

I just LOVE this series!
So imagine my surprise after waiting 6 months for this book to come out, to then have to wait ANOTHER 5 months till the next book will be released!!!

I GOTS TA KNOW!!!

However, moving on to me actually reviewing this book, I wouldn't say it was the best storyline for Rose as an investigator compared to the other mysteries she had to solve.. I'm not saying it was bad! I'm just saying that it wasn't the best.
On the other hand, the storyline evolving around Rose's personal life has gotten intense and I love it! The whole love triangle thing isn't bad compared to other love triangles; in fact, I don't mind this at all as the drama is valid and not petty. However saying that, I love mason! I do not want her going back to Joe. Normally I wouldn't agree as you should typically fall for the guy at the beginning of the series as I normally do, but I felt Joe had his chance and blew it in the last series. The whole Hilary thing is unforgivable, but not only that, he's not reliable. He could easily do it again. Whereas Mason loves Rose and has waited patiently on the sidelines for her until she's ready. Not to mention their sex life sounds MUCH better than Joes and Rose's!

Okay, I feel I have to mention this now otherwise I'm gunna burst!
What the actual fuck is going on with Violet!
I'm mean seriously! Rose keeps doing little outbursts and putting her in her place but Violet is being spiteful and ridiculous and is carrying on anyway! I feel Rose really needs to cut her ties (for a while) to show what Violet has done to their relationship. I mean first, it was telling everyone that Rose had cheated her out of her inheritance and made the town believe she was having to work for free, when in actual fact Rose paid for the whole thing! Secondly, ruining her relationship with Joe and belittling her. Thirdly, rubbing it in her face on the day Joe visits with Hilary for their grant money. Fourthly, spending more money than they have and almost putting the business under and blaming Rose for not depositing the money when in actual fact that is HER job. And then at the end bringing Joe into the business without Rose knowing. I means seriously, how many strikes does this woman want against her?!
Oh! And also trying to make Rose jealous by going on dates with him. I do not know what is going threw her head to think she's not being a bitch? It's mind boggling.
But thank god for Neely Kate! I absolutely love her for putting people in there places. Now she is the definition of a woman who's got balls. Just.. Love her.

Really loved this series and this book and I can not believe it left on such a cliffhanger!
I'm counting the days till the next ones released!

There is so much to say about this book! I seriously love Rose! This is book 5 in the Rose Gardner series and I will guarantee it does not disappoint! From the beginning to end the adventures and shocks are there. I think regardless of all the Rose craziness that I experienced while reading this story, what I realized the most was how much she has grown and come in to her own person in every way from book 1 to Thirty-two and a half Complications. Rose not only knows what she wants, but she most importantly has found the guts to stand up for it and use her voice loud and proud. It's simply amazing.

The book starts with Rose being caught in the middle of a bank robbery...of course this is no surprise; however it is the bank robbery that literally creates all her other troubles throughout the story. However Rose sees this as "Just another day in the life of Rose Gardner." Which has truly become fitting for her life.

I also really enjoy how much her friendships have come to mean to her, and what amazing support one sometimes finds in the right friends. Rose while still grieving her childhood and all that was taken from her simply learns that she is so blessed with the amazing people in her life that made up for all of it.

And last, I have to add a note about Joe and Mason and how I saw them in this book.....I used to be a very avid fan of Joe, I cried when he had to walk away from Rose because of his cruel parents, I hurt not only for her, but for him. But honestly I really disliked him so much in this book! While I don't doubt his love for Rose, he is very selfish and immature and comes off as a bully through much of the book. Now Mason, I really do like Mason and I believe his love for Rose is true too, it's a mature love and very unselfish and his admiration shines clear on each scene that he shares with Rose; of course all this will probably change in the next book as the author is famous for throwing out those curve balls.

The ending will leave you cussing and at the same time begging for more! I really can not wait to see what happens next in the Rose saga.

I can't believe how much I get into each one of these books of Rose. Every I go through all emotions of happy, sad, tears and so much frustration and anger (not at the writer - but the characters!). Rose and Neely Kate feel like my best friends and I feel for all that they do. For days after I finish them I am still thinking about them and I wonder what they are doing and I imagine how I want the story to keep evolving. This is the only series I have done this obsessive thinking about and it's hard to believe we are on book 5 aleady...Keep them coming Denise!
This book we really see Rose become this more independent and strong willed and BRAVE! I love how she's turning out and is now speaking her mind to Skeeter of all people! I will fully admit I'm team Joe and I didn't like his actions this story. Granted he wants to win back the love of his life and is so jealous of Mason the poor man just isn't sure what to do, but they obviously have way more than just chemistry between them and I know in my head they cant be over. Mason...oh Mason I just don't know what to think about you...you seem too good to be true and I have a feeling you are hiding some big ugly secrets that just need to come out. He also just seems boring but I do love his mom and that Rose finally has a mother figure to turn too.
Hillary and Violet just need to be told off. I'm waiting for that showdown with popcorn and a front seat and I will totally videotape it as I will need to re-watch that countless times.
Keep it up Denise! This series is amazing as are you!

This installment of the Rose Gardner series was quite the wild ride. From bank robberies to maybe babies, this book is filled with action, laughs, tears and swooning (over Mason of course). I've been a solid Team Mason member since he showed up and this book showcased everything that I love about him. I'll admit that I believe Joe loves Rose in his own way (and he's got some great scenes in this book too), but it's Mason who accepts her and encourages her like most people in her life do not. Rose may be getting stronger, but she still needs the support of her friends and I love the relationships she has with Neely-Kate, Bruce Wayne and Jonah. Violet...she can just go jump off a cliff of something. I despise her more and more with each book in the series and her actions in this one are almost unforgivable.

One of the best parts of this series is how skillful the character development is. Rose has come so far from who she was in Twenty-Eight. I love how much she's grown. She's more assertive, she believes in herself more, and she stands up for herself more. Each book in the series gets better and better and I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Things are heating up in Rose Gardner's life . . . her new relationship with Mason is fast-growing but is it too fast?

Thievery! Thievery! Thievery!

With a loss of money might put Rose's and Violet's business out of business before it can flourish.
Rose will do anything to get her money back but how far is she willing to go?

Things just might put Rose in the face of dangers, how about helping Skeeter Malcom?
I give this 4.5 cats Tails Up, the dynamics in Rose's life is giving her her own voice, she's truly growing into the person she needs to be.

~~I received this in exchange for an honest review~~

I don't even know where to begin. I love this book! There are no other words besides those. I love this book. This is the best book yet in the Rose Gardner series. I couldn't put it down at all. I was hoping that it wasn't going to end, but alas, it did, and now I have to wait for the next one. So what are my thoughts on this book besides I loved it? Well, my thoughts are this: this is a very well written book. You can feel the emotions that are in the book. You get angry and want to yell at the book when Rose FINALLY stands up for herself, no you do not want to yell at Rose, you want to yell at the person she is yelling at! It made my heart grow even more for Rose!

Of course there are shenanigans that happen in the book, and a possible scare. But you are going to have to read the book to find them out because I am not going to spoil this for you! GET THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! WOW! WOW! Another fantastic book from DGS in this series, it grabbed me from the first sentence and never let me go!!!!

Rose and Mason are such an awesome couple and I am so glad that they are finally together. Joe on the other hand, well I just don't like him. He sets off warning bells in my head/ And Violet is so like her mother and that is not a good thing.

This story ran the range of emotions for me. It made me laugh out loud, cry, be angry and happy. I t also cause frustration and it made me want to hurt people. DGS is an excellent writer and never fails to get me involved emotionally in her stories and this was so true this time/

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All I can say is read it NOW!!! You will love it too!!!!

Denise Grover Swank does it again! This latest addition to the Rose Gardner Mysteries is one of my favorites. It is the perfect blend of action, adventure, humor and romance. In this glimpse into the life and times of Rose Gardner, we are introduced to her more grown up and assertive side and it is quite attractive! Friendships deepen, romance heats up, alliances form, and conflicts arise so that my only disappointment upon finishing this book is that I have to wait to find out what happens next!

I love this series. These characters really play with your heart! If you don't know Rose, take the time to get to know her, you won't regret it. And yes, this book lives up to its name, plenty of complications along with the mystery to solve!
Thanks Denise, I can't wait to see what you have in store for everyone in the next book!

Seriously! This series has NEVER been dull for me. For once Rose is completely minding her own. She finds herself at a loss between business, family, and friends. She once again has to dig deeper into her undercover mess. Defiantly keeps you on the edge of your seat. We find out who takes over Crocker'a business. Just keep turning those pages!

It's hard to go overboard when a book is this good. And I loved this book. Until I hated it. Then I loved it again. Really, though:

YOU MUST READ THIS BOOK NOW!!!!!!!

The book starts about a week or two after Thirty-one and a Half Regrets leaves off. Mason and Rose are living together in the farmhouse Rose's birth mother left her, Joe is ... around, and Rose's sister Violet is busy, um, being Violet. Which does not turn out well. Everyone else is here, too; Jonah the preacher, Rose's landscaping employee Bruce Wayne, Neely Kate, Miss Mildred, and, of course, Rose's dog, Muffy. Mason's mother even makes an appearance!

Poor Rose. She just falls into trouble like a Slinky tumbling down a staircase. She doesn't do anything to make it happen, she's just always in the wrong place at the wrong time. This time, it's a bank robbery. She's been paid in cash for a large job, and Violet has forgotten to make the bank deposit, so Rose does it. Except before she can hand her money over to the teller, the bank gets taken off, Rose annoys one of the robbers, and the local constabulary just makes it all worse by being... themselves. It's all downhill from there, as Rose then discovers a dead body, makes a deal with the devil, narrowly evades arrest, and tries to host her first Thanksgiving in her new home. All while seeing visions and throwing up.

The thing is, these people are people you know. Rose is your friend, the girl you went to school with and chat with in line at the bank, and you know you'd sit down and drink sweet tea with the girl. Ms. Swank's characters are three-dimensional and conflicted and human and real and when you read a Rose Gardner book, you feel like you've been taken to visit Henryetta, Georgia. The conversations, the idioms, the characterizations, even the weather, are purely perfect. Denise has these people and places down pat, but she's not letting them stagnate. No sir-ree bob cat tail! (Trust me, they say stuff like that.) It's nice to stop in and visit, though, and see what's going on.

Well, Joe's still around. He's living in Henryetta, determined to win Rose back from Mason, although the tack he takes seems a little counterproductive. Can't blame the guy, though; he's still got his father and Hilary to contend with, and now it seems as if Violet wants into the mix.

You know I don't do spoilers, but suffice it to say that financial necessity takes our Rose down a lot of paths she might never have trod otherwise. She becomes involved with a guy named Skeeter who is... fun. A criminal, and a little scary, but fun. He and Rose are a delight to watch in this book.

Ultimately, Rose solves the crime (was there every any doubt?) and things settle down. A bit. For a few minutes. We are left with some cliffhangers, which makes sense since there are least three more novels, and a novella, planned for this series. Possibly more. It also makes sense because, just like in my life or yours, Rose's life doesn't ever settle down all the way, with every t crossed and i dotted. Just as in reality, Rose's life is messy and complicated and never easy. Isn't that why we love her?

There are issues, of course. At least, for me. I love Joe Simmons. I can relate to Joe Simmons I am #TeamJoe all the way. And he really gets the dirty end of the stick in this book. I have no idea where Swank is going with the triangle she's crafted in this series, but if you want to keep both men as viable options, you don't accuse one of pretty much everything bad including tearing the wings off flies and kicking puppies. And that one kiss? (You'll know the one I mean when you read.) Joe is a lot of things, but he's not that. And Mason? You'd think the guy could walk on water while simultaneously feeding the hungry and saving the whales. Most of the time Swank's characterizations are excellent, but the gap between our two male protagonists is widening and that's not conducive to romantic tension. Or to my happiness, really, although I'm fairly certain that doesn't factor into Swank's writing.

On the up side... she didn't go there. Again, no spoilers, but there is a trite, common, teeth-grindingly cheeesy pot trick that a lot of lesser authors use to create resolution or tension or whatever. Swank uses that little trope carefully, sparingly, and in the end, well, it's all sleight of hand. Yay for that, Denise. I knew you wouldn't take the easy way out.

This is a great book, worthy of the series, and worth every second you spend with it. I spent 14,400 of them with this one. That's 4 hours, for those of you who can't find your calculators. And that should tell you something right there; I read this book in FOUR HOURS!!!!

I cannot recommend this book, or the Rose Gardner Mystery series highly enough. I have convinced many people to start reading these and now they are as hooked as I am. If you are already a fan of Denise and/or Rose Gardner, this book is going to make you happy, sad, furious, afraid, tense, and ultimately gratified for the glimpse into your favorite fictional southern town. If you're not already strung out on Swank and her fabulous series, get the whole lot of them, take a week off work, and read them. You won't be sorry. Heck, the first one is free! Twenty-Eight and a Half Wishes. You like free books, right?

Robberies and Rows

Rose Gardner is waiting to pay nine thousand dollars into the nursery account when the bank is robbed. What follows cements Rose's reputation as an unofficial detective.
The complications include Joe's continued pursuit, Violet's on going disapproval, and Mason and Neely Kate's support.
I continue to adore these characters, and Rose is a constant source of joy.

I think this book was more action packed than the last. How is that possible?! I went on an emotional roller coaster with this book. Happiness, sadness, anger, love, swooning, anxiety!! Between Mason and Rose's relationship, the way Violet acts, the way Joe is acting, my feelings were all over the place. I wasn't sure how to handle it all. I did enjoy it nonetheless though. Having different complications come up was interesting how Rose handled each one in stride. She's really grown!
