Thousands of years ago, Men and Elves coexisted side by side along with all manner of magical creatures. The Creator had threaded magic into the blood of every being, and it was a wondrous world indeed. Until the day Fate, bored with the Earth’s peaceful existence, conspired to twist one of the Creator’s benign guardians, Nefar, the Gatekeeper of the dead, infecting him with a lust for power he was never meant to hold. War broke out upon the World, and Seryn, the Mother of Magic, Immortal Guardian and twin to Mother Nature, sacrificed herself in the Final Battle, removing magic from our world until such time the Creator called her from her earthly tomb and allowed her to usher magic upon the world once more.

In a bid to save the races dependent upon magic, Seryn ordered them to take refuge within the Realm of Meard, a realm of dreams existing alongside Earth. There she sent the races of Elves, Dwarves, Giants and a hundred score more, so they would live unhindered from the recession of magic.

Men, the youngest race by far, inherited the world, having the strongest constitution to survive upon their wit and strength alone. The magic the humans were born with, receded into their DNA, and there it lies still today.

This is the story of an unlikely Elven pair, Sienna and Aleczandre, two younglings from opposite clans, who knew nothing of Earth, whose destiny would shape the end of our world.

About the author

Tracey Renae's love of books began at an early age when romance and fantasy bloomed within her heart and her own Realm was born. From the time she was a teenager to her early thirties she would write her stories as an outlet from everyday life struggles, eventually learning that those very struggles would birth some of her greatest characters.

Tracey's hobby turned to a serious undertaking in late 2013 when she published her first anthology for charity, and her resulting series The Raven Saga beginning in 2014.

Now, every day is a writing day for Tracey as she works tirelessly to bring her own brand of madness to the page. For all artists are quite mad, didn’t you know?

This first book of a Trilogy introduces the reader to a world that existed thousands of years ago and at least four main characters.

Sienna and Aleczandre who are destined for great things, and each other?

Silver haired Seryn and Commander Jax whose eyes see more than most.

Magic, romance and danger all beckon.

Deming has created a fantasy world rich with detail. The nature of magic in her world is both original and fascinating and her characters lead you gently by the hand into her tale, to be lost amongst the pages. Lovers of romantic fantasy will love this prequel, a teaser than leads you into her forthcoming work Ravenfrost.

I absolutely LOVED this teaser/intro book into this series. The author, Tracey Deming, snags your attention in the first paragraph and doesn't let go until the last word.

The characters are believable, the setting is nothing short of magical and the ever so subtly emerging plot leaves you in anticipation of what is coming next.

My only criticism? This first book ended WAY too soon!
