I enjoyed it. It was entertaining but it took me a moment to wrap my head around it... I'm used to Zane Grey and Louis L'Amour. This author is a bit more honest with his language and it has... gasp... dirty bits! Okay quick and dirty... dirty bits... but still, I'm used to Zane Grey. Just sayin. All in all it was a yarn, which is what I look for in a Western.

Not a full 4, but a solid western that will have me chasing more books in the series.

A fast moving tale of an ordinary ranch hand who took on the job of range detective in the 1800's to stop the horse thieves. Very entertaining. A good one to stuff in your carryon travel bag.
