This is an interesting book--there aren't too many that take a comprehensive look at the aura. However, it is solidly new-age and not physics-oriented in any way. The author relies on the idea that you can basically fix your aura with positive thinking and, especially, affirmations, which are plentiful in this book. So it is solidly new-age. I find myself a minority as someone who, through various spiritual accidents, believes in the auric field and other astral phenomenon without being a new age thinker, so I find these books somewhat awkward. For instance, as with many books in this category, the author is convinced we're going into a new age of enlightenment. This is basically the premise of the majority of new age books and keeps the general idea that the new agers are somehow more greatly evolved than non-new agers. This book isn't as bad as some in that regard, but it has other problems: only mentioning chronic illnesses when in relation to dangerous ideas of "spontaneous remission" credited to faith healing, the idea that one creates one's own circumstances which can be circumvented with positivity, and other similar ideas which are rife in these types of books.
I have used her color guide effectively when dealing with watching the auras of spiritual entities, and now I have learned what will be the newest craze in the new age movement. This book was worth a read, but again, it's not without its flaws.
