Elijah doesn’t have feelings. He doesn’t care, nor does he empathize, until the day Audrey was found. While searching her mind telepathically, things suddenly changed for him. He never imagined that he would face all the emotions plaguing him. Now he is on a mission to find the rumored Rebirth creature. What happens when a creature never meant to feel anything suddenly becomes attached to another?
Valentine always knew there was something…different about her. While she hated even the thought of blood, she loved to help those in need. She felt an instant connection with her patients and always strived to save lives. Her adoptive sister always told her that she cared too much. That she couldn’t save everyone. And now there is a colder than ice man in her life that won’t go away, and won’t take no for an answer. The problem is, she never wanted to push him away, even though she knows he will be her downfall.
Becca Vincenza lives in wonderful Michigan. She has a love for Skittles, rainbows, Star Wars, and reading about hot men. When she’s not wearing her author hat, she’s working to pay off her student loans for her recently acquired English degree.
*I got this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.* I enjoyed Damaged, but I LOVED Healed. This was a mesmerizing, unpredictable and absolutely delicious story to read! Not to mention HOT! This book is not exactly a sequel, but more in the lines of a parallel story that happens shortly after the events in Damaged. Audrey and Stone are in it, but as minor secondary characters. It focusses on Elijah (featured in Damaged) and Valentine (a whole new character), as they share dual points of view. I already thought Becca Vincenza was a master creator when it came to building characters and crafting them to be believable, even though they are supernatural; and endearing, even though they are flawed. But she really surpassed herself here. And that is because she built her characters in a way that completely supported this fast paced story and gave it an exquisite balance. Elijah, at one point of the book, said “She was warm where I was cold; she was light, where I was dark.”, when talking about Valentine and himself. And that is exactly what worked well here. Their energies worked like a yin/yang type of thing, where his harsh sense of reality, and his aggressive demeanor were balanced out by her lightness of spirit and unrelenting faith. It was truly beautiful to see their reactions towards one another and how they grew because of each other. Much like in Audrey and Stone's relationship, they had a redeeming effect on each other. And that is exactly what I believe true love should be: two flawed people in an imperfect relationship who ultimately are better for being together. Lovely! And did I mention it was HOT?!? Well, it really was, more so than Damaged, for me. Yum! But the romance wasn't the only good part of it. I also loved Amani, and all the other parts of the plot that had little to do with their love. I could really see how amazing it is this world that Vincenza has created. I could definitely see many books such as these first two - separate stories in the same world that make sense for the ultimate plot of the series - coming out. More than that, I eagerly expect it! In summation, this book is a well crafted, well written romantic adventure. I would highly recommend it to any adult that is interested in a steamy, fast paced paranormal romance. I can't wait for the next one!
huge 5 stars!!! Original, breathtaking & heartbreaking at the same time, and a true HEA!!
So, Healed is the second book in the Rebirth series. This story follows Elijah and Valentine. To say that I was waiting--literally stalking Becca--for Elijah's story, is an understatement.
Elijah is a Wraith; unfeeling, doesn't love and kills without a second thought. It's in his genes, so we can't blame the guy. But then he is sent on a mission to retrieve a woman. Nobody knows that kind of paranormal she is. Enter Valentine, silver-haired, heart of gold and she's utterly fascinated by Elijah.
I loved, loved, loved these two characters. Valentine's personality compliments Elijah's. She's brave in her own way,and I loved it when she stood up to Elijah.
My next favourite character was Amani--which means Peace in Swahili. This girl has no peaceful bone in her body..lol She has a potty mouth, she's funny and very protective of her best friend, Valentine--which makes for an interesting interaction especially between her and Elijah. I'm really looking forward to her story.
One of my favourite quotes:
"I thought I would destroy her, and in the end, she destroyed me. I was at peace."
I highly recommend this New Adult paranormal romance.
hot damn.. I am falling more obsessed with this newer author becca. I really enjoyed damaged for its originality and am blown away with healed. this series is nothing like anything I've read before. I highly recommend any paranormal lovers to start this series. . can't wait for the next to come out.
Healed by Becca Vincenza is book two of the Rebirth series and tells Elijah's and Valentine's story. Elijah, a wraith with unwanted feelings, is sent on a mission by York to find Valentine, an undetermined paranormal who is possibly a rebirth, before the Braden clan can find her and destroy her. Elijah finds her and is intrigued. Valentine can heal people with touch, but she is also living with a Djinn. Valentine with her best friend Amani escape Elijah only to find themselves at the hands of another clan. Valentine must rely on Elijah who she doesn't trust to help her save her friend, and Elijah realizes these emotions he's feeling may never go away.
New and Familiar Characters
What I really like about this series so far is that each book is centered around different characters. Whereas Damaged centered around Stone and Audrey, this one focuses on their friend Elijah and the new character Valentine. Elijah is a wraith, basically a soul-sucking demon according to his clan. He has no feelings, kills without remorse, and relishes in the soul's fear. That is he did until he helped save Audrey. Now he is having emotions and feelings that he hasn't experienced since he was human. He blames his host body, but isn't sure if that is really the cause. When he meets Valentine he is drawn to her, and in complete Stone fashion claims her as his (there's that "mine" word again ;) ) I really like Elijah. He's a dark character who struggles with the light that Valentine brings. It makes for an interesting story, and if I'm being honest, I liked him a lot better than I did Stone. He's honest, doesn't hold back, and does what's necessary to protect Valentine at personal cost.
Valentine is an interesting addition to the series. She was an orphan, raised in the foster system and an outsider until she met Amani who seemed to understand her unique ability. Val is a sweet character, a bit naive, but always has your best interests at heart. She puts others before herself. Basically she is the yin to Elijah's yang. She is the complete opposite of the cold Elijah. Where he is dark, she is light. She helps others, even strangers at the cost of her own health. You see, she can heal people (no spoilers I promise, this is all in her first chapter) just by touching them, but it leaves her weak and she has to sleep. In the first chapter she heals a patient close to death, and she is out cold for 72 hours, scaring her friend and herself, but she admits she would do it again. How can you not love her?!
Amani is Val's best friend, her adoptive sister, and a Djinn. That's right she's a genie! Pretty cool huh?! She's spunky, outspoken, and very protective of Val. So when Elijah shows up to take her, Amani runs with Val to protect her. They bring out each other's qualities. Isn't every friend supposed to do that ;)
Love and War
As with book one, this book centers around the relationship that builds between Elijah and Valentine. But unlike book one there is a lot more paranormal and plot besides the romance :D Valentine and Amani land themselves in serious trouble with another clan, and Amani winds up prisoner. It's up to Valentine to save her, but she must turn to the man who showed up to take her away in the first place. The plot lies in can she trust Elijah, and if she can will she be safe to go with him after they save Amani.
In the process Val must also learn all she can about the paranormal world to see if she can learn what kind of paranormal she is. Amani and her parents hid things about their world to protect Val, but in reality they've placed her in more danger. Who can she trust? What is she? Makes for an amazing read :D Though I will admit, I figured out what Val was long before she did.
There is more about the different clans in this book which I felt was lacking in Damaged. The author shares a lot of information about the clans, different paranormals, and the emergence of the rebirths which enhances the series. I can't wait for more!
My Conclusions
I really enjoyed this book! In fact, I read it in one sitting ;) While it isn't your typical sequel in a series, it does follow the main plot and introduces some new characters. While I found it a bit predictive, the author still managed to surprise me in some areas, like the ending and Elijah's character as a whole. FYI there are more sexual situations in this book than in book one, also some profanity, and it has an overall darker theme as Elijah is just a darker character. I highly suggest this book be for mature audiences only!!! Though technically the books could be standalone, they tie together nicely, and if you do decide to read them they should be read in order! If you enjoy new adult fiction, paranormal romance, and urban fantasy, I think you should definitely check out the series.
Another 4.0. The story was compelling and featured one of my favorite character stereotypes … the misunderstood loner. (Gets me every time.) As in Damaged, there were several grammatical errors, but I read past without difficulty because I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next.
Plot: Elijah, the wraith who helped rescue Audrey in Damaged, has been sent on assignment to find one of the Rebirths. Although wraiths usually don’t care one way or another, meeting Audrey changed something in Elijah. Those changes are exacerbated when he meets Valentine, the subject of his search. Because Val, whose origin is unknown, can heal, the other clans are anxious to get a hold of her and find out what she is. Elijah must fight them, Val’s best friend Ami, and the changes he is going through to get her back to the York compound alive.
Characters: We started to find out a little bit about Elijah in Damaged. We knew that he was changing after he sifted through Audrey’s mind, but we weren’t quite sure what was happening to him. Healed gives us some insight into what Elijah is thinking and feeling. It also tells us what happened in his past to make him so unfeeling. It’s important to note that even though I liked Elijah, he wasn’t always the easiest character to empathize with, as he could definitely be overwhelming (and blunt) at times. The thing I found so entertaining about him was that no matter how much he denied what was happening, it was obvious that he was transforming into something better.
Valentine, a nurse with healing powers was the polar opposite of Elijah. She was sweet and thoughtful and loyal, and like the book description said, she did have a tendency to care about things too much. As you might expect, she cried a lot. That was a little annoying at first, but much like Elijah, she changed throughout the book and actually became stronger and much more independent.
The other main character was Val’s best friend Amani (Ami, for short). Ami, a Djinn, was also the complete opposite of Val. She was brave, high strung, and outspoken (and at times, a little obscene), but it somehow worked on her. She did get a little pouty and withdrawn toward the latter half of the book, but I think we’ll get to find out why in the next book in the series. (According to Vincenza’s website, Tamed is due out in early spring.)
We also get to see some of the characters from Damaged. Val grows very close to Audrey. Stone, Marcus, Drake, and Xavier are around as well.
Writing: The book does fall into the new adult genre, so there is language (LOTS of language) and sexual situations. There is also lots of violence. Once again, Vincenza did a great job of giving each paranormal group their own personality traits and backstories. She also did a great job of keeping up the story’s pace. The only thing I would have liked to see was better grammar/punctuation editing.
The Bottom Line: If you liked Damaged, you will probably like Healed. The relationship between Elijah and Val was nowhere near as sweet and tender as the one between Audrey and Stone, but it was still captivating in its own right. Most of the action is resolved by the end of the book, but we know the story will continue, next time focusing on Amani. I’m looking forward to seeing what happened to her when she was with the Longs.
I don't know where to begin. The character I loved the most was in fact one of the secondary characters Ami! Amani Santangelo, Valentine's best friend and fellow paranormal resonated the most with me. I spent much of the novel wanting to punch Elijah in his face for being such a buttknozzle, but he has such redeeming qualities at other times that you can't help but feel for him and root him on! It doesn't change that he is not your typical good guy protagonist. Not at all. As a wraith, his primary source of enjoyment happens to be the suffering of others. He's a cold-blooded MURDERER and he loves being one!
In fact, I was beginning to worry about some of his behaviors, and then another character (one whom I love) pointed out his flaws too and my opinion went "WHOO, GLAD IT'S NOT JUST ME! This was intended!" So, in fact, the author did a splendid job of making a hero I felt divided about from the beginning. I'm still on the fence between thinking he's adorable and someone I want to repeatedly kick in the groin.
Valentine is the most saccharine sweet patron of benevolence ever. She's also a nurse, and that's cool with me because I'm a nursing student. It's awesome to see a nurse represented in my paranormal stories at last. While she has flaws of her own, such as giving too much of herself far too often, she has strengths that begin to develop further on into the story. Over the course of the story she grows and develops from this awkward baby duckling and into a swan.
The romance? I'm trying not to mention anything here that may be a spoiler, but on account of this being a paranormal romance, CLEARLY there is a romance between two characters and this should be safe to discuss. It developed along at a pattern that was sort of strange at first but that's on account of the characters involved. Elijah is a jerk. She's a gentle spirit. We can't be too surprised that the onset of their relationship feels like two inept beings want to smush their flaming nonos together but neither knows what they are doing. Awkward.
Watching the story develop left me wondering what turns it would take next. And that's the fun about this story. Nothing went down the way I thought it would. I giggled, I laughed, I felt sadness with the characters as I learned their unique backgrounds and stories prior to the events of the story. Most of all, I was super pleased with the direction the novel took toward the end as we saw character growth from all people involved. The unique, imaginative plot kept me reading and I clapped gleefully whenever I saw an appearance from some sort of paranormal creature I favor. I love banshees. Love fey. Love wraiths, djinn, dragons, gargoyles, vampires, reapers, unicorns, and sirens. So if you love all of those fantastical and mythological beings, you'll love this too.
This review and other awesomeness can be found here...
This is the follow up book in the rebirth series. Becca Vincenza does it again. I didn’t think this book could be anywhere near as good as the first one but she makes you fall in love with Elijah and Valentine. They have their own story. Their own complications to overcome and their own emotions they need to come to terms with. The book was everything I hoped it would be and more.
Elijah is a wraith that feeds off of fear and other scary things. We met him in the first book. Audrey has woken up Elijah’s emotions which is weird because wraith are supposed to be heartless and emotionless. The York clan has sent Elijah to get Valentine. Someone they think is another rebirth paranormal. They just are not sure which kind. When her powers are revealed another clan wants her as well. It is up to Elijah to get her to safety with the York clan.
Valentine is a new character. She is a nurse that can’t stand the sight of blood but she can heal people with just her hands. So she works at the local hospital anyway. She is a strong character that doesn’t mind standing up to Elijah. She can’t help but be fascinated with him. She is kind and caring but her personality fits Elijah’s perfectly.
Their relationship was a confusing one for both of them. Elijah is supposed to be heartless, emotionless, and unable to love. When Audrey awakens some of his emotions Valentine completely changes everything for them. This book was beautiful. They had to get through all of their action and drama while trying to figure out how they feel about each other and what that means. This is a true beautiful HEA though. Love it.
Amani was another great character add to the list from the Rebirth series. She was sassy, funny, and very protective of Valentine. She is the ultimate best friend. I loved her character.
Let’s just say that if you thought the first one has twists and turns get ready for this book. The book was intense, heartbreaking, nerve-wreaking, and amazing. I loved everything about this book. It can be read as a stand-alone but you should definitely pick up Damaged as well. I can’t decide which book is my favorite. Read them and decide for yourself! I can’t wait for more books!
***I was given a copy in exchange for my honest review
Healed starts off following Elijah, the wraith. Since joining the York clan, He is now helping to find the rumored elder race. To help the Rebirth of these Ancient paranormals.
We are introduced to a new character, Valentine. She is an interesting character, one that is kind and gentle. She is the type that would capture a spider and take it outside instead of killing it. She has the gift of healing. That might be why the wraith wants her. Elijah is also intrigued by her, responding to her in way that is not normal for a wraith.
When she was a young girl she healed a boys broken arm in school, she was called a witch and was deemed an outcast. Her only friend was a girl named Armani, who was an outcast herself because of her purple hair, violet eyes and her attitude. After forging a bond in school, the two became inseperable.
Valentine has limited knowledge of the paranormal world, she didn't grow up in it like Armani did but with a wraith on her tail, she's going to get a crash course on all things paranormal.
Elijah is not the only one after Valentine. Memebers of the Long clan want her as well, they already have Armani. The race is on between the clans on who will get Valentine and find out just what kind of paranormal she truly is.
Nixie was my Fav in Broken, but Ami, a Djinn, is definitely my Fav in this book, with her badass, take no prisoners attitude! (Be warned, she drops the 'F' bomb, a lot!!) She will do whatever she can to keep the wraith away from Valentine. What paranormal is Val and what does the wraith and other clans want from her? Well, one click and find out. :)
*The Chemistry between Elijah and Valentine is INTENSE and I love how their story unfolds!! And I can't wait for the next installment!
*Little fun fact: Valentine's tears are like diamonds and flowers grow where they land*
I must say I have thoroughly enjoyed this book. One thing I also appreciate the Author taking time to do, is put an appendix at the end of the book explaining what each of her paranormal characters are and a little background info on each species.
I'm lucky enough to have been a Beta reader for this as well as help with other things. It is such a great follow up to Damaged you will totally love it.
If you read Damaged than you already know about Elijah. He's a Wraith with all black eyes and razor sharp shark like teeth. He's a Demon with no capability of feeling, or so we think.. I loved Elijah in Damaged. I have a thing about the bad boys and what's badder than a Demon with no remorse but chooses to see something deeper in a Girl who has been through so much pain and torture and still manages to be strong. Yep, that's my Elijah.. He's sent on a mission to extract a paranormal who seems to be a part of the rebirth.. Easy Peasy for him right? Well, little did he know that this wasn't going to be as easy as he thought. Valentine is his mission. She's the total opposite of Elijah. She's got the power to heal by her touch alone and can't help but see good in everyone and everything. This just might end up breaking her.
This story was just so amazing to me. How can two unlikely people be thrown together like this and not be close? Well, for Valentine it's easy. Her life depends on love and attention. Elijah, not so much.
"I do not love. You should know this, Valentine. I obsess. I will own your heart and soul but I have nothing to give in return.” I stared down at her, my stare never wavering. “I can’t be left unloved Elijah. It would destroy me.”
Then there's valentines friend Aman. Omg! I love her snarky foul mouth attitude. I did want to smack her at times when she was being a total Witch with a Capitol B though. But she's just awesome.
So much going on that you wonder if they will ever make it back to the York clan. Such a fun and exciting story that I had to read it again just to get my fill of Elijah. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this crazy world of paranormals. This series is going to leave you wanting the next book even more and I will tell you this.. I've gotten a sneak peak of the next one and Stolen will leave you breathless. Becca totally turns up the heat. ;) I hope you Root for the bad boy to get the girl just as much as I did.
Healed is book two in the Rebirth series and I thought it was a great sequel to Damaged. I recommend reading Damaged prior to Healed because it provides key information about the characters, the paranormal world and the paranormal problems that could help to clarify any confusing details.
Elijah was sent on a mission at the end of Damaged to bring a girl back to the York Clan. Since Elijah is a wraith, many people fear his presence. His cold, flat, expressionless demeanor sets him up to always be the bad guy and that is no exception when he goes off to get Valentine.
Valentine lives with her best friend, Amani (Ami), and Ami is more familiar with the paranormal world. Valentine grew up not knowing her family or her paranormal heritage and Ami’s family kept all paranormal information on a need-to-know basis. Valentine does know that she is able to heal animals and people but doesn't know why.
When Elijah comes to get Valentine, Ami recognizes him as being one of the bad guys and immediately does everything in her power to get both her and Valentine away from the wraith. The result is that Ami gets kidnapped and Valentine is left alone to fend for herself… even if that means she must side with Elijah to help get her friend back.
Elijah and Valentine’s story was engaging and I loved watching the romance blossom. Elijah could have been less possessive but this could be a trait of the paranormal men in this world. At least he wasn’t as possessive as Stone (yes, Stone made an appearance in this book and he still had a tight hold on Audrey). The author has created a fun and unique world that can host many more books based on all the paranormal characters.
I read an ARC copy of the story last week so mine was an unedited version. There were some grammatical errors, a few plot holes, confusing sentences and repeated paragraphs that I believe will be fixed by the book’s release date.
The appendix is given at the end of the book (like in Damaged), so if you need a refresher on the paranormal creatures, refer to that first prior to reading the story.
I give this book 4.5 stars. I can’t wait to read more books in this series!
Elijah has no emotions, and Valentine doesn't have answers. Then, they meet. Elijah can't deny the feelings she's stirring in him as Valentine begins a journey to discover who she really is. Both have so much to learn. Can they find a way to work together? Or will they only bring pain and devastation into each other's lives?
First... what an amazing world of paranormals! I must admit that I was confused at first, having not read book one in the series. But once I got into it, I was taken with the story and characters.
Elijah is the bad boy you want to root for, and I loved how the author kept me interested in him even when there weren't sparks of goodness to be found. His abilities, at first sinister, become his torture.
Valentine, although the name confused me because it wasn't particularly feminine and the book is told from alternating perspectives, is another great character. She's struggling, yet growing stronger with each revelation. The ultimate reveal of her paranormal classification is breathtaking and unforgettable.
Amani, who Valentine considers a sister, ended up being one of my favorites. She's that great peripheral character who steals scene after scene and helps bolster the protagonist's strength. On the surface, she's not likable--gruff and fierce--yet you can't help but like her.
By the end, I was captivated and wanted to know more (especially about the clans and their motives), but I think I would have given more stars if I'd read the first book and had been able to jump into the story more quickly. Oh, and did I mention it's full of some steamy romance? I might have had to defog my glasses once or twice.
Overall, I would highly recommend Healed--just make sure and read book one first.
Note: There were a few grammar issues in the beginning which smoothed out as the book went on. Or, maybe I didn't notice them as much when I became more engaged with the story.
I received a complimentary copy for review purposes. A positive review was not requested or guaranteed; the opinions expressed are my own.
I believe that Becca Vincenza books keeps getting better and better. This book has everything you could want and more, in a AWESOME paranormal romance book. It has emotion, thrill of a good chase, and romance that both are trying to resist each other. I enjoyed each page of this wonderfully written book. Elijah a Wraith is an unemotional creature, and is sent to find a rumored rebirth creature, Valentine an bring her back to York. But, he is not prepared for her Djinn friend Ari to stop him from taking her. Then the chase is on, for Elijah to get to her before another Clan does. When Elijah gets Valentine, he starts feeling the human emotions again, that the Dragon-Shifter had left in this human body that he has taken over.(Read Damaged first) Valentine being unknown of what she is, and always protected by her best-friend/sister Ari who is a Djinn. After unforeseen events that has come up, Elijah has agree to try and rescue her Djinn from the Long Clan. It is so intriguing to read this unemotional creature Elijah fight the human side of him. and you will be on the very edge of your seat till that very end. My heart went out for Valentine, as soon as I read and got to understand her character more. She is one that cares for all people and creatures. She has a pure and innocent being, that has such a pull to Elijah that she can not understand. When Valentine is in danger and taken by Long Clan, will Elijah find her in time to save her. This fight will be one were things change on both sides. That's all you get from me, I don't do spoilers! This is a MUST READ!! This series is an AWESOME one. Becca has made a very creative and talented series that you will totally enjoy every one of them. I can not RECOMEND this ENOUGH!! THIS IS A MUST READ! I don't say this often but, this series is so very creative and talented. This series is one you don't want to miss, so make sure it's on your MUST READ!
I liked Elijah from the previous series book, Damaged. More to the point, I liked the Elijah portrayed after the ‘mind-meld’ with Audrey, after Elijah began to show a capability of feelings even though he refused it admit it. I liked Valentine. How could I not? She was such a likeable, caring character, feeling a connection to her was almost a given. In addition, the mystery of her rebirth species was very hard to resist.
The fact that she could feel his underlying emotions didn't surprise me, but here is where I had the problem. It was hard to believe that she could fall in love with the Elijah who was still the wraith who would torture people, kill them and then steal their souls. Given the species she was, this part of the story seemed unbelievable. It would have been totally believable that she could care a lot about him given how he was protective of her.
It seemed much more logical that she would fall for the Elijah hybrid who emerged after Val healed him. It also seemed logical that the Elijah hybrid was a mix of Caleb, the original owner of the body, and Elijah the wraith. I felt that was the reason there was a sentence or two dedicated to Caleb suddenly asking Val to save him. The Elijah hybrid was more human, ate human food rather that human terror, and slept (something that keeps human body’s from breaking down).
In the end,no matter how it happened, I was happy that Elijah and Val found each other.
It seemed that there was much more to Ami’s story… from even before her kidnapping. I decided to trust Author Becca Vincenza to provide that story.

Healed by Becca Vincenza is the 2nd novel in the Rebirth series. It could be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading Damaged (Rebirth Series Book 1) first. Healed tells the story of Elijah (a wraith) and Valentine (an unknown rebirth paranormal). Elijah is sent on a mission to bring Valentine to his Clan leader. Wraiths are unfeeling and cold. They feed on the suffering of others. Valentine is the exact opposite of a wraith - she is kind and caring and she possesses the ability to heal. As Elijah and Valentine get to know each other, something happens and they develop a relationship. While they are struggling to understand exactly what they feel for each other, there is a lot of craziness going on - other Clans want to capture Valentine, Amani (Valentine's best friend) is kidnapped and Valentine wants to rescue her. The characters blended together perfectly. Valentine was such a sweet character. She was kind and caring and always saw the good in other people. But she also had some backbone and was willing to sacrifice for the people she cared about. Elijah is firm and uncaring; he was kind of a jerk at times...but he also had moments where good came through. Amani was one of my favorite characters - he was street smart and feisty and she had quite a mouth on her. The plot was interesting and intense. I really like the unique world of paranormals that Ms. Vincenza has created in the Rebirth series. I cannot wait for more books in this series.
First off Healed is the second book in the rebirth series so if you have not read Damaged I recommend you read it before reading Healed.
This book is about Valentine an unknown paranormal that does not know anything about her paranormal heritage. She was raised by her best friends Amani’s family, Amani herself is a paranormal that was only given information about herself on an as need to know basis. The only thing Valentine knows about herself is that she can heal animals and humans but does not know why. Elijah is a wraith a paranormal that has no ability to feel and is feared by all. He is sent to bring the unknown paranormal back to his clan before other clans can capture her.
Valentine and Elijah are exact opposites. One cares too much and the other not at all! But they begin to have a connection to one another and struggle to figure it all out. Look for plenty of twists and turns and OMGs with these two. They will have you sitting on the edge of your seat wishing you could read faster to see what is going to happen.
Over all this was a great story that was the perfect follow up to book one. I have become a big fan of Becca’s and I am looking forward to more of her stories… they just keep getting better and better! Her characters are ones you love and ones you love to hate! Awesome job Becca!
for starters talk about book hangover I can't get enough of Elijah!! I've love Elijah from the start he was prolly my favorite in damaged so I was so happy to have his story next and omg it didint disappoint. I loved hearing his back story and how he became and kudos to becca for being able to keep him so cold like she did if I was writing him I would have caved lol I love that he's dark sexy and in control of everything! moving on valentine was a great fit for Elijah. I liked how even though she fell for him and excepted him she still kept her innocence. although she was pure I enjoyed how she let go when she was with Elijah and he had a good balance of being hard but tender with her. On to ami she seemed like the perfect bestfriend I loved her attitude and fowl mouth it brought a lot of entertainment to their relationship but after what happend to her I am unsure about her and I'm very intrigued to hear her story. overall this book was an amazing love story that was full of action and had me on the edge of my seat at times. I love this series and all the different story lines that merge and their characters and I can't wait to read the next book!!
Okay so I’ve read both of Becca’s books and WOW! This book was so good. I love both of her books but this one was by far my favorite. Becca is getting so much better with her writing. I was not able to put this book down. It is very interesting and intriguing. I LOVE the supernatural feel to it. Becca really knows how to draw you into her stories. I absolutely LOVED Elijah and Valentine. Elijah character is very coldhearted. He is a wraith. He is going to get Valentine, and when they are together oh wow! There are some great twist and turns in this book that will have you on the edge of your seat and it will have you wanting more. I loved the Characters in Damaged so much, but when I was reading this book I fell in love with these Characters so much more. I think what Becca did in this book was brilliant and she is growing into a very talented author. If you haven’t read Damaged or Healed drop everything and pick up these books today. You will not be disappointed! Great Job Becca.
He is darkness. He feeds on fear. He is a wraith, a harbinger of death. The people he feeds from die seeing horrible things. He feels no pity, no empathy, nothing...until he meets her.
Valentine is everything Elijah isn't. she is sweet, caring, a healer, and pure, but something about her makes him feel things... he shouldn't be able to feel. He was tasked to bring her in to keeper safe, but they ran,her and her sister the Djinn, and by the time he catches up to them her sister has been captured and she convinces him to help rescue her. He agrees but tries to keep his distance from what he doesn't understand, but the more he pushes away the closer they seem to get. She must overcome his aloofness before he destroys what they could have. Not to mention they must do this while saving her sister and avoiding capture themselves.
I greatly enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes a little twist in their paranormal romance. I am eagerly awaiting the third book to see what happens next.
After reading Damaged I couldn't wait to get my hands on Elijah's story. I was not disappointed! Although I figured out in the first chapter what Valentine was it did not ruin the story for me. Valentine is sweet, innocent, and a complete bleeding heart. Normally I do not like characters like this. But when Elijah catches her and Ami(her best friend) what she does to save them made me like her. She has inner strength and is totally loyal. I love how she effects Elijah. Even while he's determined to complete the mission as fast as possible, he finds himself veering way off course and can't figure out why. I have to say Ami was a big player in this story and I loved her. Although there were times I wanted to beat the crap out of her. I can not wait to see if she will have a story. I think the perfect time would be during the battle. As I feel there will be one soon.
I have been in love with this series since I found it..its only book two but everything moves along smoothy as they try to bring in more rebirths A wraith Names Elijah has no feeling well didn't until he roamed in Audrey's mind for new feelings to appear he is sent to find Valentine a rebirth who can heal anyone which is rare so now Elijah must take Valentine to The New York Clan who is helping hiding rebirths..But with all these new feelings Elijah is now having Val's friend getting kidnapped she begs for him to help and he does... everything that happens is wonderfully told and I can not wait for more in this series!
Becca Vincenza's follow up book to Damaged is as good a read as her first book.
This story follows Wraith Elijah as he sets about bring Valentine a rare paranormal with healing powers back to the York compound. However complications arise when Valentine's best friend Amani is captured by the Long Clan. Valentine managed to convince Elijah to help rescue her best friend will they be success and what will happen with growing feelings between Elijah and Valentine given that wraith's are normally heartless and emotionless.
Beautifully written this story just sucks you in and you feel emotional connected to the characters in the the story. I can't wait to read the next book in this series
I love the story of Elijah and Valentine. Elijah is a wraith, with no emotions. I enjoyed the way he slowly changed. His character is amazing. He can be such a horrible person one minute and an emotional misfit the next. Valentine is a wonderful character. Her feelings for Elijah developed over time and her emotions helped make Elijah become the man he was meant to be. This book is loaded with great characters, plenty of action and intrigue. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
*I received this book in exchange for an honest review
This is book 2 in the Rebirth Series. In book one we met Elijah, in book 2...we get to KNOW Elijah, inside and out! This was a great continuation with an interesting character. I enjoyed reading this book, maybe even more than the first one.
The way Becca writes just holds your interest, and throws you full force into the story. I love how she goes back and forth between the characters points of view..it gives you different perspective on the same situation.
Healed is the much anticipated sequel to Damaged. It follows the story of Valentine and Elijah, a submissive girl with a mysterious paranormal trait, and a controlling Wraith. I liked Healed a lot better than Damaged. There are mysteries within the pages that at times have you gasping in shock. Especially when you find out what Valentine is, and when she changes into her true self... Wow! You will have to read this for yourself to discover her secret. Cannot wait for the next book.
I loved this second book in the Rebirth Series! Such an interesting take on paranormal characters and hierarchy. I really enjoyed getting to know a different set of characters in this book than in the first book while still being immersed in the same world. I can't wait to see where Becca Vincenza takes me next with this series!
Wow! Even better than the first! Elijah is just so intruiging, and there is just something about watching someone who believes they can't feel or love fall anyway. Great story! Keep em' coming Becca!!! <3
I enjoyed this book immensely. I didn't care too much for all the swearing that Amani was doing but, other than that, I really enjoyed the story. MORE! MORE! MORE! I WANT MORE!!! LOL!
