Age of Obsidian

This free essay gives a brief overview of the central character, Kediak. It also provides a setting for the age; the struggle for survival as the glaciers continue to drain water away and make it impossible for flora to survive. It also provides a brief glimpse into the more mysterious elements he will encounter in his travels. These are not fantastic stories, they are historical science fiction. The people he will meet will shape the world he lives in, and help form the myths and legends that will endure for 12,000 years.

About the author

The author has lived in Britain, Germany, Italy, and Japan, taking his Ph.D. from the University of Glasgow in 1999. Early in life he enjoyed a highly successful fighting career and now enjoys reading and writing in the genres of historical fiction and science fiction. In his spare time he runs and practice martial arts, of which he has been active since 1980. Cian lives in Centennial, Colorado with his favorite person, his kitty Svipdag. Also living with him are four cat servants; Cian does this part time as well.
