There is a prophecy that speaks of a time of great turmoil, a time when the rule of power will be overturned by the hammer of fate. That time has come, and one girl stands in the middle of it all...
Nora has been reunited with Hunter, and together they must face the elders. But this time, they have the angels on their side. It is a precious advantage, but only if used properly...
She has learned of the prophecy of her fate, and learned of her destiny. But while others are certain, she is less sure. And as she moves forward, she learns that absolutely nothing can ever be guaranteed.
Ugh. Sometimes the writing can be so hard to choke down! And all the teenie bopper drama of her thoughts.. I found myself skimming through paragraphs to get the meat of the story. Hopefully the last book is better.
I loved this series! It was only 99c on Amazon when I pick it up and I loved it! Super quick reads but totally enjoyable. Teenager based books but I lived the storyline:)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ With the prophecy now clear, Relentless leans into themes of identity, fate, and courage. Nora’s uncertainty in the face of everyone else’s belief in her destiny makes her more relatable than your typical “chosen one.” The return of the angels and looming threat of the elders give the story more weight. While it follows expected tropes, the execution is emotionally grounded and satisfying.
I have really loved this book series. I especially love the relationship between Gray and Nora. He is more than a pet or companion. I do find it hard that for all the years Alexander and Madison have been alive they so easily let a child lead them. Also the bf seems too possessive. She has all his power yet he still acts like she's mortal and frail.
And now the plot gets bogged down. I will finish the saga, just to see how it ends. The pacing has been up and down for me. 1st book too fast, this one dragging. And I'm worried about Gray, who is the most sympathetic character in the book.
In Relentless (The Forsaken Saga, #3) Nora continues to hone the strength and gifts she acquired after becoming a member of the Vassiz. Included in these gifts is her ability to "talk" with animals. In particular, the relationship Nora develops with a little bear cub she rescues from hunters in the first book (she names him Gray) is heartwarming and extremely touching. Gray, who has developed into a much larger bear over the span of the first two books, plays a pivotal role in this segment of the saga. Nora and her friends are captured by two extremely deformed humans who use a special concoction given to them by the Elders to immobilize Nora and her friends by zapping them of their Vassiz powers. Before turning Nora over to the Elders, however, the brothers intend to use Nora to satisfy their own sexual desires. This is where Gray comes in and he saves the day in pure angry bear fashion (it's definitely a warm fuzzy moment when Gray is injured).
Pam Lorence narrated and did a fantastic job! She had different voices for each character, all of which were very believable. I especially enjoyed the action sequences and felt like I was actually watching this story unfold instead of only listening to it. Because of Pam's narration, I enjoyed listening to this book much more than I would have if I had only read it.
Can i tell you again and again to start reading this amazing series that will drive you crazy every time you are forced to put the book down. However is not that i did not just love reading this book that i give only 4.5 stars is just somehow i fell that something is missing from the book i can not explain it, maybe i will understand in the next book.
The plot in this book runs around Nora, Alexander, Madison and of course Hunter that together try to create a plan to get the elders down ( more exact to kill them so they can stop running and start living a normal life). Again in this book we are taken on the journeys that this group if forced to make only to find themselves with more questions then answers or get caught. However Nora finds out how strong is her connection with Gray (the bear) and how much they all need him everywhere they go.
What i do not understand is if the angels are now on their side and know so much about the elders why can they help the group by telling them how to take the elders down or what to do to keep themselves alive. I am pleased to find out that Madison and Alexander are still helping them but more that they were right about what Rafael know and the fact that he could help them alot on this journey.
The story has potential, so I keep reading this series, but I insist there's something missing.
On one side everyone treats Nora as if she knows everything, because of the prophecy, even if she is the youngest and most inexperienced of them, on the other, they are always trying to protect her as if she is too weak to do anything, it just don't make a lot of sense.
Nora and her friends have found new information that may aid them in their fight with the Elders. The are captured by a pair of humans and have had their powers taken away by an herbal mixture. The captors have plans for Nora that they are deemed in carrying out before they turn her over to the Elders. Feeling her distress, Gray comes tearing through and kills the captors allowing Nora to escape. Now freed the gang sets off to Portland in an attempt to find passage to Egypt.
I really have enjoyed all of Sophia's Forsaken books. This so far just have become so close to the characters and felt like I have journeyed with them and also endured there struggles and triumphs. Can't wait to read the next and final book I'm afraid.
The books have definitely gotten better as you keep reading. However they are still mediocre. They do have an an interesting an entertaining story, and that is why I rated it 3 starts. I do think the author has potential.
Awesome and sweet book !! A little bit to emotional at parts but love the way the writer has expressed them...carefully enough to not make the reader cry !!
