To claim her inheritance, Breanna Morgan must return  to Crescent Moon. She soon discovers that prowlers, vandals and unnatural noises have invaded the isolated mining claim that has long been in her family. And her new neighbor,  Tyler Ross, is not the first or the last to warn her away.

When the threats become all too real and Tyler offers his support, Breanna accepts him with open arms. Until she has  cause to wonder if his choice is for her benefit, or for his own….

For genealogist Sarah Montague, finding an adoptee's natural parents is routine. But in Michael De Lorio's case, her only lead is the nightmare that haunts him—one he suspects is a terrible childhood memory.

As Michael and Sarah delve into his past, they find danger at every turn. And their only hope for life, and love, is to rebury the past and disappear without a trace.

(1)romance author:
Adeline Catherine was born and raised in Grants Pass, Oregon, USA. She always yearned to be a writer like her mother. The morning that one of her professors asked if she could use samples of Catherine’s creative writing on an overhead projector to teach was a dream come true. In 1988, she sold her first book to Harlequin Intrigue and went on to write three more before she tried her hand at a single-title historical romance. Nine books later, she did her first single-title contemporary.

Catherine married Sidney D. Anderson, an industrial electrician and entrepreneur. They had two sons, Sidney D. Jr. and John G. In 2001 she and her husband purchased a central Oregon home located on a ridge with incredible mountain views and surrounded by forestland honeycombed with trails. It was her dream home, a wonderland in the winter and beyond beautiful in the summer. She named it Cinnamon Ridge after the huge ponderosa pines on the property, which sport bark the color of cinnamon.

Sadly, Catherine lost her husband to a long-term illness in 2014. She has kept Cinnamon Ridge as her primary residence but divides her time between there and her son John's farm, where she has the support of her loved ones and can enjoy his horses, cows, and raise her own chickens.

Catherine loves animals and birds, both wild and domestic. She presently has two Australian shepherds, six cats, and a very old canary. She is very family oriented as well. Her older son has lived in Japan, Australia, and now resides in New Zealand. Catherine and her stateside family will celebrate Christmas on the north island with Sidney, his wife Mary, and their two sons, Liam and Jonas.

This book was probably a 3.5 story but it did have quite a few twists and turns in it. Genealogist Sarah Montague and Michael DeLorio met because Michael found out he was adopted and wanted to meet his birth parents. He had tried several other agencies but they all backed out and this made Sarah curious. Sometimes it is best that the past is left uncovered and this is what Michael found out. Very interesting storyline.

This book was coupled with Reasonable Doubt and I think it was a much better book than the first one. At least it kept my interest up and it was believable.

One can never go wrong with a book by Catherine Anderson. Both of these stories are great and very
different. I loved both of them, and would recommended them to anyone who wants a couple of good reads. Both stories are full of intrigue and will keep you reading thru the night.
Please give them a try and any other of her books too. None will disappoint you.

The first story was 3 stars and kept me pretty interested. The second story was 2 stras. It seemed alittle unrealistic via the romance in the beginning and I just couldn't stay interested in it. Was hard to keep picking it up to finish it.

This book was a little different then most of Catherine Anderson's books, but it was just as good. And you got two stories in one! I thought they were both pretty ordinal concepts and was kept guessing the whole book on what was happening. My only complaint was that I wasn't completely sold on Tyler Ross. Because he had to be so secretive the whole story I felt like you never really got to know him. Both stories were pretty suspenseful and exciting and I loved them both.

This is a "twofer" featuring 'Reasonable Doubt' and 'Without a Trace'. Both are early Anderson works. They do not have the depth that many of her later works have, but both stories are good and worth the time to read.

Catherine never disapoints me with her books. And this one is a great book also. You can be taken away to places that will make you forget the days troubles. I just love her books and this is one of them.

I only read the first novel of the two, Reasonable Doubt. It was okay.
