Rachel and Kirsty are on the hunt for Tasha' s magic ribbon.
It's been stolen by a goblin, who thinks he's brilliant at tap dancing! Can the girls find a way to trick the nasty goblin into giving the ribbon back? She's got hat shape fairy dust , a cane , tap shoes and a top hat.

Rachel's mom is working at the college. Her mom said her and Kirsty can go look around the college. They looked around a little bit. There were some girls rehearsing a tap dance and one girl came up to them and said have you seen red sparkled tap shoes and a cane. The girls said no then when the music stopped they herd taping. The girls looked around and found nothing they looked under the table and found Tasha the tap dance fairy. They herd more taping. They looked in the parking lot and found a goblin. Tasha and the goblin had a dance of. If the goblin lost he had to give back the ribbon if he won he can keep the ribbon. Tasha went easy at first then she went hard. He had to throw up his cane with the ribbon and Rachel caught it and they kept it.THE END

Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic.
Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies.
On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon!
If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!

There are seven Dance fairies and they are: Bethany the Ballet Fairy, Jade the Disco Fairy, Rebecca the Rock 'n' Roll Fairy, Tasha the Tap Dance Fairy, Jessica the Jazz Fairy, Saskia the Salsa Fairy and Imogen the Ice Dance Fairy. Their magic ribbons are needed to help people dance properly. The goblins are drawn to music that matches their ribbon and feel the need to dance. They also temporarily gain ice magic and ability to freeze people. Rachel is staying with Kirsty again and they need to help the fairies!

Hold tight to the ribbons, please.
You goblins now may feel a breeze.
I'm summoning a hurricane.
To take the ribbons away again.
But, goblins, you'll be swept up too,
For I have work for you to do.
Guard each ribbon carefully,
By using this new power to freeze.

This time, the girls discover magic in the world of dance.

I feel like the series was already starting to lose steam at this point. The book isn’t bad, but the plot with the goblin causing a few mishaps or making objects disappear feels very repetitive.

The idea of entering a dance contest is original, even if I didn’t quite understand how they managed to sign up so quickly, and especially why such an activity would be part of a school career fair. But why not.

Overall, this installment felt both more detailed and more rushed than what I was used to in this long-running children’s series.

I used to be a tap dancer
Really?
Yes but I gave up
Why?
I kept falling into the sink
Nothing in this book reaches the height of that joke, but the good guys do prevail, and if that's a spoiler well you have never read one of these books.

I read this with my 7-year-old daughter who loved it. Anyone who has read any of the rainbow fairy books before will know why. They are designed perfectly for her age group. Each story features best friends Kirsty and Rachel having to help a fairy friend from Fairyland in their perpetual battle with Jack Frost and the goblins. This one is no different.

This story is about one of the dance fairies, Tasha the tap dance fairy, and, just like the other dance fairies, she can't find her missing magic dance ribbon. This means that until her ribbon can be found and re-united with her, tap dancing in the human and fairy world will be ruined.

Naturally it is Jack Frost who stole the ribbon to use the magic to improve his and his goblins dance moves, but when the King and Queen of Fairyland demanded he return the ribbons he asked his goblins to hide them. It falls upon Kirsty and Rachel to help Tasha get her ribbon back.

Also along the way there are a multitude of clear and simple pictures to bring the text alive, and the story is written in big text too ideal for early readers.

As for my daughter she loved the story but also the opening poem and the hidden ribbon you have to find somewhere in the book.

Overall a typical rainbow fairy story that little girls will love.

Rachel and Kristy went to a tap dance party at Wetherbury College. The tap dancers couldn't tap dance because the tap dance ribbon was still missing. One of the tap dancers lost her tap dance cane and tap dancing shoes. Rachel and Kristy said they would go look for it, but when they find Tasha the Tap Dance Fairy, Tasha thinks one of the goblins stole them so he could tap dance better. They go and look for the goblin and the tap dancing supplies. When they find the goblin, they find out that the ribbon is tied to the cane, because the goblin does have the tap dancing things. Tasha uses her music to untie the ribbon but the goblin snatches it back and ties it again. Then he goes to join the tap dancers and dances with them. Then the goblin goes out of the room and goes into a classroom. Tasha and the girls follow. Tasha and the goblin have a tap dancing contest and the winner gets the ribbon. Tasha won and she got her ribbon back.

Yet another book in The Dance Fairies series; our oldest loves this series and she is reading each book very quickly. I don't enjoy them all that much, but I think they are helping to turn her into an avid reader and that I like a lot!

Nov 2011 update: our youngest is now immersing herself in this series and is reading them very quickly. Hooray!

In this book, Rachel and Kirsty help Tasha the tap dance fairy find her ribbon. Also the goblin freezes somebody, but it's not Rachel OR Kirsty it's Tasha who freezes. Rachel and Kirsty meet a girl named Ashleigh Hart who lost her tap dance cane and her tap dance shoes. Who has them? The goblin does. Also, he tied the dance ribbon to the cane, but Rachel and Kirsty manage to get it off in time. Then, they take the tap dance shoes and the cane back to Ashleigh.

I like Tasha the Tap Dance Fairy because I get to take tap dance in my dance and ballet class. I liked how Tasha got her ribbon back by doing a contest to see who was better at tapping between her and the goblin. She won, but the goblin wouldn't give it to her. I was very interested to see what happened next.

I did not enjoy reading this book but I'm not the target audience. The plot is predictable but I can appreciate that little girls need some light adventure. I like that the main characters use wit and cleverness (and just a little bit of magic!) to solve the problem.

In this book, I like how one of the dance girls who's supposed to dance in the dance competition can't find her cane and her tap shoes. She thinks they are lost, but really, the goblin has them. I take tap dance, too, so this book was fun to read.
