Pretty good book. A compilation of the best articles Mr. Stovall wrote. If you are into self-development literature - I doubt that you will find something totally new, but it's fun to read the same type of advices from a different angle and in a different context. One of the thought-provoking lines that I remember says something like:
"Most people plan their holidays for three days but never spent that amount of time planning their lives." :)
Thanks for the recommendation to my friend Yanko I. I've enjoyed the audiobook via Storytel and it was fun. __
The 10 books Jim recommends are (random order):
1. The magic of thinking big / David J. Schwartz 2. The power of positive thinking / Norman Vincent Peale 3. Wake up and Live! / Dorothea Brande 4. The psychology of winning / Denis Waitley 5. How to sell anything to anybody / Joe Girard, Stanley H. Brown 6. Tough Times Never Last, But Tough People Do! / Robert Scholar 7. Giant Steps: Small Changes to Make a Big Difference / Tony Robbins 8. Lead the Field / Earl Nightingale 9. The 7 habits of highly effective people / Dr. Stephen R. Covey 10. Think and grow rich / Napoleon Hill
This is actually the first book I ever read of by Jim Stovall. Since I have subscribed to his e-mail list and received one of his tips of wisdom every week. Always worthwhile.
There are some good, solid quotes of wisdom here, but to say that it is wisdom for winners is perhaps ambitiously overstated.
This is a collection of advice columns. Some may be good advice or at least mildly amusing, but I regret to say that if someone wants to become a winner, that person will need to do far more than read this book. Sorry, but I can't quite recommend this collection.
This book was AMAZING and I can't wait to read it again.
This book is comprised of Stovall's columns for newspapers and other publications and is full of wisdom to help one be successful from day to day. This book is thought provoking and can change how you approach life if you take on board the lessons provided.
My one and only criticism is that at times it was repetitive.
Wisdom for Winners, is a compilation of very small nuggets of food for thought and motivation. This is not necessarily a book to be read cover to cover. Rather, a reader might open the book at any random page and pick out a little sliver of motivation for the day.
This is the first of this type of book I've read. I couldn't have chosen a better one. I always feel motivated to change my life when reading and I actually have. I plan on buying this for my aunt as well. I'd lend her my copy but I want to keep it and reread it. Today's the day!
This book was easy to read and filled with great lessons covering all aspects of life. A great reminder that sound principles always apply and that today is the day to take action.
Golden nuggets of successful mindset! Stepping out and reaching your potential goals is the mindset. There is no conceive how to, but there is insightfulness.
