In this interdisciplinary collection leading experts and scholars from criminology, psychology, law and history provide a compelling analysis of practices and beliefs that lead to violence against women, men and children in the name 'honour'.
I think there is a mistake in listing the names of editors of this book on goodreads. One of the lead editors of this book is Aisha K. Gill, professor of criminology at a prominent UK uni. For the book, it is an eye-opener with multiple perspectives deriving from different interrelated disciplines on the infamous issue of honor and honor killings. This book is a series of research papers about the subject so one does not have to read it in its entirety. I think I have grown as an English reader after this book because I have come in touch with great academic minds with neat research and terminology. It took time and a lot of mental energy for that growth to happen. Eventually, I think I arrived at a better understanding of the issue than when I first started and ultimately that’s the point of reading.
