I am familiar with Colette Baron-Reid through Hay House. I was never drawn to her and haven't used any of her beautiful card decks, so it was interesting to get to read a bit about her life experiences and how she receives messages from Spirit. I love hearing about other people's synchronicities and signs, and she shared a number of personal ones. I was surprised to discover that she is a Christian. "Messages From Spirit" would be a beneficial book for someone learning to communicate with the divine/spirit realm/universe, and any open-minded followers of the Abrahamic religions. It was such a light and enjoyable read—which was exactly what I needed.

I couldn't even call this pseudoscience. There's absolutely nothing here that even resembles science. Even the mythology is inconsistent.

One of the challenges I have with the New Age movement is that they take what they like, and ignore the rest. They make angels seem like good and kind creatures, forgetting that in many mythologies, including Christian and Jewish mythology, angels could be quite capricious, and sometimes downright hostile.

Reincarnation is portrayed as this thing where we can come back as a better person, no matter what we do here, because we're "enlightened." However, the actual mythologies around reincarnation - particularly Hindu and Egyptian, are brutal... terrifying.

The omens and messages that come through in this book are so general that you could pretty much make them say anything you wanted them to say, therefore "proving" that you were right.

If there was such a thing as a spirit, who gave messages, they why wouldn't the be specific, real, pertaining to situations right here right now?

A beautifully written book to introduce readers to oracles, signs and omens, what they mean and how to interpret them in a personalized way. The words literally glistened in sun as I read, invoking a magical feeling and bringing the book alive between my two hands. Every product Colette Baron-Reid shares with the world is absolute excellence, created with exquisite attention to detail and for the greater good for all.

what a great book.. much of this i already follow, but she brings up some new and interesting things.. this is completely in my realm.. i believe there are signs & omens all around us.. it is up to us to use our intuition, our first thought, gut instinct, to read these signs.. they are all around us..
if you are interesting in understanding more about such things as synchronicity, totems and divination, this is a refreshing read..

This book was just ok for me and I thought I'd really love it. I did not expect it to read like an autobiography quite as much as it did. While some parts were interesting, I wasn't really looking for so much of that angle. It isn't that I don't care about the author's personal history, I just did not think the bulk of the book would be in that focus. If you are looking for something in that genre, then you'll enjoy it I'm sure!

A lot of good information...

I really enjoyed this book. It has a lot of good information about signs around us in our daily lives. It encourages us to be more aware and our eyes open. Sometimes things are more then just a coincidence. I learned quite a bit from this book. Some of the information is good for reference later as well.

Es un libro interesante que te abre la mente a lo sutil, a la percepción de esas señales que pasan inadvertidas generalmente, pero con el libro se hacen más evidentes

This is the first book I ever read from Colette and I totally loved it. I have been on my own spiritual path for quite a while now, so many of the concepts she covers in the book are not new to me. However I enjoyed a lot the way she puts them down on paper, because some of them now make more sense. I have tried a couple of times to ask Spirit for guidance or for answers and I can tell you that the answers will always come, but you really have to be open and be present. If you do pay attention to everything that goes around you, you will get the answers. Some answers can be tricky and you will have to interpret the symbols, but as I said before, if you are open and perceptive you will get the hint, so to speak.

A couple of my experiences with this kind of messages have been the following. My mother passed away almost 2 years ago, and I remember the first months after her passing I would constantly get messages from her telling me she was alright and that she loved me. I remember one day I told my mother out loud that I loved her and missed her, and that I wish she could still hear all this. Then I went to look for some papers and pulled out a book from her night stand drawer and opened it where she left reading and I found there a card with a drawing of a small girl that said “I love you”. I smiled and said I love you too.

Another day I told Spirit “you know I’m kind of insecure, but I’m working on it every day, but I would love for you to give me a sign that I will never lack anything”, and all through that week every time I went walking to do errands I kept finding money dropped on the sidewalks. Cents or bigger denominations, but I saw the message. There will be times when I have more or less, but there will always be enough to pay for my expenses.

This book will guide you to open up to Spirit and sync to get all the messages you need.

I greatly enjoyed this book. It covers everything from Tarot, to cloud reading (yes, you can read the clouds you like to gaze at, and not just for weather!) to the origin of the "fortune cookie" and the power of the tradition it is taken from. There's so much material on symbolism here, you likely won't be able to take it all in in one reading. That doesn't take away from the conversational, real-world feel of the book. Both aspects of the book have their place and are a good balance.

The book is a great resource on animal totems and between the reference material at the back (A Guide to the Sacred Sign-Bearers) and her real-world stories and a visualization exercise, that alone could keep you busy for quite a while. The section on numerology is also great and I was able to use it to finally understand what's going on within that system. I even feel like the timing of my getting this book, and reading that particular chapter, was perfect and helped me get just that much more centered on my path.

So my final thought is that this book is great for covering divinition methods that are not the standard few, and if you are called or pulled toward this book it will be well worth your time.

I greatly appreciate this book and urge you not to take my rating of 4 stars as a sign that it is flawed. I am simply someone who rarely rates at a 5.

I have start by saying the Colette is a friend of mine, and she highlights my work in the chapter on animals, but that's not why I highly recommend this book.

Colette has created a book that inspires and encourages readers to tap into the messages Spirit has for us and she shares many many ways of opening up to these messages.

If you are looking for guidance and support or even a warm hug as your travel your path, this book is a wonderful companion.

I know Colette from the interview series she does with radio show host Steve Maraboli. I've always wanted to read her books- so I finally got this one. It was interesting. She's a very outgoing woman and you can really pick that up as well in her book.

This is an interesting book and I enjoyed reading it. Ms. Baron-Reid makes the art of using omens, signs and oracles to use very easy to understand. The book is written very clearly and includes practices you can use to read items from nature and signs in your daily life that show you how to interpret and understand the messages they are sending.
