A killer is on the loose in Salem who not only wants to take your life, but your soul as well…Psychic Copeland Forbes anonymously receives a locked wooden box with an unknown spirit trapped inside. Attached to the chest is a cryptic May you get what you truly deserve. Sensing the box comes armed with a curse, Cope refuses to open it until more can be learned about the sender and the ghost who dwells within.
Several other psychics lend a hand to uncover the secrets the chest conceals, but there are no easy answers to be had. When the box is destroyed by unknown hands, the curse comes for Cope with devastating consequences.
Meanwhile, Detective Jude Byrne, and the rest of Salem’s Cold Case Unit, are trying to solve the thirty year old homicide of college student Trinity O’Connell, whose lifeless body was discovered after she attended a meeting of the Purity Circle, a group that values celibacy. Her father was the only suspect at the time of the murder, but he’d never been arrested, and was now long dead. Having to start from scratch, Jude digs up three possible suspects, all of whom had their own reasons for wanting Trinity dead.
Who killed Trinity O’Connell? Why? More importantly, who is the ghost in the box?
Sick of the slogging rat-race of her 9-5 job, Pandora Pine put pen to paper (literally!) to make her ambition of becoming a romance novelist a reality. She cut her teeth in the dog-eat-dog world of fanfiction, still dreaming of the day when she would be a published author. She lives in Massachusetts with her blabbermouth muse who’ s a fan of middle of the night plot twists.
In her spare time, Pandora fancies herself an amateur nature photographer. She enjoys mucking around in swamps, hiking through the woods and crawling around on her hands and knees in her backyard seeking out the perfect shot. Pandora is a fan of roadside seafood shacks and always thinks Mexican food is a good idea at the time.
Some of Pandora’s favorite things are chocolate, writing longhand with purple pens and handsome men falling in love with each other.

Yes! Either I was in the mood to read about the guys today or this story just worked really well for me!
To say both storylines, psychic and police investigation, were at a cross purpose would be an understatement... until they weren't! Also, to say Cope was having a bad day... week? Yeah, that poor thing just couldn't catch a break.
I missed having more "kid" time, and knowing Woofie and Everly were sick, leaving Aurora on her own for the first time had me concerned... but, Ms. Pine didn't see fit to give me the details that I required to know that all was well with our Three Amigos... opportunity missed, if you ask me!!!
Back with Jude and Cope. This time Cope has a box delivered to the store which turns out to be the soul of departed person. At the same time Ronan, Fitz and Jude are working the cold case of a college student who died many years ago. Little did they know that their cases would overlap.
Another wonderful Haunted Souls book. The prologue was scary and I was wondering how the murder would be solved and then the ghost box is delivered and Cope's life is threatened and a connection is found. I love reading about their daily lives and was so happy that Jude and Cope let Wolf's teacher know that the kids would not be separated in the next year and how they take care of kids when they were sick. I was sure that I knew who the murderer was and then the real one was revealed and was far worse than I expected. I always get teary-eyed when the ghosts are able to go into the light. Looking forward to more stories.
Another winner in the Haunted Souls series as Jude and Cope are thrust in the middle of more ghostly investigations. There's a young woman's spirit at stake...and much more, but our favourite Salem band of brothers is more than equal to the task. The family theme is as strong as ever in this author's books, as is the great blend of grim case, loving relationships and heart-warming humour. 4.5*
Exciting story with Jude and Cope at the center, along all their friends. I can never say too much about how much I love Ms. Pine's writing. I never read the blurb--I just order the book. Recommend reading.
A short, but powerful story where Cope gets involved with the Detective Trio. (Ten is down with a cold along with most of the kids.) My only complaint is the the other asshole is still at large. Maybe they will get him in a future book.
Every book Pandora has written so far has been wonderful. It is hard for me to put a finger on my favorite character but the whole "family" is what I look forward to read about. Not every one has that kind of love to share but I feel like I'm part of that family.
I simply love these characters and series Jude and Cope and kids are so wonderful together I like how Ms Pine brings all the characters in her stories and it’s like meeting old friends and families at reunions and barbecue Love is the answer
Ghost in the Box is fabulous as always and a little bit heartbreaking too. The characters are always wonderful and I'm already eagerly waiting for Jude and Cole's next book. I'm still convinced that Miss Becca is a wrongun'!!
I love Jude and Cope and I always love the way they work so well with the others. It was Cope's first time working a cold case and I was a little surprised by the killer. I thought for sure it was the cult leader.....goes to show you not to assume😂😂😂
Wow, Pandora has done it again. I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down. Jude, Ronan & Kevin are trying to solve the nearly thirty year m*rder of college student Trinity O’Connell whose body was found a few days after she attended a meeting with the Purity Circle where the women must be virgins and they’re taught how to be subservient to their husbands. Trinity was actually undercover researching for her final article that was going to sky rocket her career. She wanted to expose the Purity Circle for the cult that they are. Trinity’s father Ron was the only ever suspect of her murder but was never charged and he has been dead for many years, mainly due to the stress of never being able to escape the allegations nor get answers of who actually killed Trinity and why?
All I can say is that the right team are finally on the case, as they’re the best people to help bring Trinity’s mother some much needed answers. Cope anonymously receives a locked wooden box with an unknown spirit trapped inside with a cryptic warning attached to the box. Cope refuses to open the box until he learns more. The more Jude, Ronan and Kevin investigate Trinity’s murder they realise that their and Cope’s ghost in the box investigations merge. Who murdered Trinity and why? What does the ghost in the box have to do with her murder? What’s the curse on the box and why was only Cope targeted? I’m looking forward to reading more books from Pandora’s Haunted Souls Series, as well as other books from the West Side Magick Universe in the future. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
