This book has a great beginning, then it just got stupid. It's almost like someone else wrote the second half. The love scenes were robotic. The two people in love had zero chemistry.

I was enjoying this book at the beginning--a classic crime/mystery. But then the poor use of words, the seeming ignorance of the difference between adjectives and adverbs on the part of the author, the faulty editing, and the implausible story line just made me wish it was over. It started as a fast, interesting read, and then it became tedious. I always finish a book I start, but I wish I hadn't.

This was a good read, not quite what I expected, I thought it was going to be your typical serial killer story, well, it wasn't, it had extra twists thrown in, I would definitely read more from this author.

Disappointed

I read the reviews on this book but decided to read it anyway. I should have listened. I'm glad it was free because this book seemed to be written by an amateur. The sentences were simple and were repeated over and over for several paragraphs. There was also a lot of jumping around in the action. They story had potential so I gave it two stars for that reason. Don't waste your time.

This novel packs a lot of entangled webs of intrigue into a small amount of space. We start off with the 4th known homicide of a young woman, and the modus operandi of the perpetrator is such that police and FBI believe that only one killer is responsible. Then we focus on a family of multi-generational law enforcement people. The plot thickens, as protectors morph into victims and possibly even perpetrators. Mafia and government clandestine agencies emerge. Maybe I'm jaded, but it's just a wee bit beyond the "realm of the possible." Nevertheless it is an enjoyable read, nice rainy day escape.
