I was told off as a child for making up stories—little did I know that one day I’d earn my living by writing them!

To the horror of my parents, I left school at sixteen and held a bewildering variety of jobs: I was a London DJ (in the now-trendy Primrose Hill), a decorator and a singer. After that I became a cook, a photographer and, eventually, a nurse. I waitressed in the south of France, drove an ambulance in Australia, saw lots of beautiful sights but could never settle down. Everywhere I went I felt like a square peg—until one day I started writing again and then everything just fell into place. I felt like Cinderella must have when the glass slipper fit!

Today, I have the best job in the world, writing passionate romances for Harlequin. I like writing stories which are sexy and fast-paced, yet packed full of emotion—stories that readers will identify with, laugh and cry along with.

My interests are many and varied—chocolate and music, fresh flowers and bubble baths, films, cooking and trying to keep my home from looking burglarized! Simple pleasures—you can’t beat them!

I live in Winchester, one of the most stunning cities in the world, but don’t take my word for it—come see for yourself! I regularly visit London and Paris. Oh, and I love hearing from my readers all over the world…so I think it’s over to you!

This is the companion to MONARCH OF THE SANDS and is the story of Tariq and Isobel.Neither felt any attraction to each other in the 5 years that Isobel was working for him till the night of his car accident. From then on ,the sexual attraction blooms and then one day,Tariq makes love to Isobel against the wall in his office. An affair begins between the two.For Isobel, the sudden attraction turns to love ,and for Tariq,it is still this intense attraction he has no idea where it came from.Things come to a header the night that Isobel meets his brother ,wife ,and their two little babies. He thinks that Isobel is becomming too close and wanting things from him ,that he cannot provide for her.He sees her with the babies and alarms go thru him.
Tariq was such an alphahole throught this entire story that I really did not care for him that much, playboy extradinaoire.
Isobel,I do not like her nickname "Izzy",was a perfect foil for Tariq,I liked how she could forsee what Tariq was going to do and was one step ahead of him in their personal life. She held out till the end to finally accept his marriage proposal and it was sweet. He had a nice little grovel and was glad about this couple's hea. A strong 4.5 *** read

When Tariq the Sheikh gets into a car accident he gets a doozy of a concussion. His reliable Personal Assistant comes to the rescue and takes him to her cottage for a week of rest. Suddenly they are seeing each other in a new light. (Actually, Izzy has had a crush on him for years, but she has ignored it because he's a dirty dirty manwhore). But Tariq feels like he is seeing her as a woman for the first time.

I liked the way their romance developed. They tried to resist each other for quite a few pages and I liked that they were careful and made sure they really wanted to go down that road. Tariq is used to using a woman for about 3 weeks until he gets bored, then he coldly moves on. As his PA, Izzy is used to buying and sending gifts to his girlfriends and then dealing with the fallout when he inevitably dumps them. I really liked these two characters but there were things that annoyed me.

In the end, the H is a jerk but groveled really well and they got their HEA. I was happy with the story and believed in their HEA.

Playboy Prince Sheikh Tariq is the ultimate womanizer. He may WANT to come off as a careless and cold man but he isn't. He was a lonely and gloomy child, unloved and even as an adult the only person close to him is his PA Izzy. Izzy is sweet, sensitive and not attracted to her boss. But what Tariq wants he gets and he wants Izzy with a passion. Their affair results in pregnancy and Tariq is forced to face his feelings for Izzy. Great steamy emotional romance!

The Sheik’s Undoing by Sharon Kendrick is a story about a sheik and an English rose…a story used over and over by different authors…..but I found Sheik Tariq and Isobel aka Izzy (I hate that nickname!!!!!) Mulholland, his PA for the last 5 years to be quite refreshing.

Firstly, they love affair doesn’t have him “winging” her on his private jet (yes he does have one or two) to his desert country but the seduction happens in London and the English countryside. Although he’s your typical ultra alpha-male, makes all these endearments in some language I have no clue what during their lovemaking scenes, he’s essentially more Westernized, which I liked for a change!!!!
Isobel is your typical English rose…corkscrew titian curls, soft skin, etc etc…..oh yes….this we discover only later…she starts off as this starchy, stiff, dowdy person who changes once she is totally ravished by her Sheik boss….forgot to mention that she is also a virgin….Sheiks need to be the first man to deflower the woman he marries…she has to be pure and not soiled by any other man!!!!!! So, the first time he does her…a bit unromantic I felt…up against a wall in the office and immediately sends her alone to her home whilst he goes off gallivanting. Well, he is known as the Playboy who lives in the fast lane so that should have told Isobel something.
Of course he can’t get her out of his head…….wow he has never felt this way for any other woman before….but as he discovers, she is no walkover!!!!!!

The part of the story that takes place in Isobel’s very basic cottage in the country is really funny and cute. It’s a place that has none of the things Tariq is used to….TV..no….it has low ceilings, lumpy beds but a great view!!!!! Loved the way he slowly begins to enjoy himself and Isobel….he who has never read anything but financial books/magazines..maybe a car magazine is now into getting into the thrillers from the bookshelf in the cottage….for a minute I thought he would have to read something like her Mills & Boon romances….just kidding.

From being this cold, spoilt, selfish man we slowly begin to see how Isobel’s influence and love change him for the better. Also like seeing his brother King Zahid and his queen Francesca from this author’s previous book, Monarch of the Sands
An enjoyable read.

Book Blurb: Ultimate playboy Sheikh Tariq lives life firmly in the fast lane! Independent to his core, Tariq relies on no one but himself – with a little bit of help from his indispensable, sensibly dressed PA, Isobel Mulholland. When a car accident leaves this dynamic sheikh injured and reliant on Isobel, his first reaction is to be furious! The only way through it is to make the most of having Isobel at his beck and call – and under her enchanting touch Tariq’s thoughts turn to seduction… This sweet girl, who has been under his nose the whole time, could just be the Sheikh’s undoing!

I wasn't really thrilled with the Sheikh. He was a playboy extraordinaire, one woman after another! When he was involved in an accident the only person who could care for him was his assistant, his lovely assistant, Izzy.

After they gave in to their passion he began to treat her rather poorly. It was like one day they were on and the next he was backing away. Back and forth, back and forth! That was not because he didn't care. He had long ago made the choice to have brief affairs, not longer than three weeks, no marriage and definitely no kids...EVER! He would feel himself quite happy during his affair with Izzy then he would get scared and back off. From day to day she never knew where she stood. I felt for her. It was painful because she was falling in love with him. He led a pretty isolated and unhappy childhood. His mother was consistently ill and at the age of six or seven he was sent away to a boarding school where he was bullied and left separate from the other children because he was a royal. It was quite sad and since he was held separate he didn't acquire people skills and didn't know how to be a friend or have relationships...except short ones of the female variety...which ticked off all the other boys who bullied him.

Izzy knew he would never change so she broke off their relationship before he left town to help his brother. They were apart two weeks and he was shocked at how much he missed her. He came straight to her when he arrived back home but he wanted to believe it was because he missed the sex. Then she had some things to share with him and he said horrible things, unforgivable accusations. He realized it and stopped but he had already said too much.

He did a very good grovel and presto-chango he was a good guy now.

(Onun da kendi kitabı varmış: Monarch of the Sands) Aynı okulda okuduğu Isobel ise 5 yıldır asistanı.

Common trope- PA falls in love/ lust with her boss (aka the sheikh in the title) and she becomes pregnant.

What elevates this is that Isobel is clear-eyed about her affair and does not harbor any false expectations that this relationship and is willing to stand up to Tariq. The other thing that made me decide on 4* was how, despite his back story, he was able to change.

The final part added a bit of humor to it when he decided against buying the football/ soccer team because 1) he didn't like football 2) it would bring him too much press attention and 3) "Polo was his game. Real men didn't prance around in a pair of shorts, kicking a ball. Real men rode horses."

Isobel has been working for the handsome playboy, Tariq, for five years. However, she never really desired him until she saw the hint of vulnerability in his eyes when she arrived at the hospital to assist him after an accident. Tariq hadn’t ever been attracted to Isobel before either, but once he is out away from the hustle and bustle of his life things shift for him. Apparently Isobel is an anchor for Tariq the calm in the storm of his life. There were some humorous scenes in this one – the first his hospital sheet moving of its own accord, his funny noise he made because he was admiring the view, etc. I also liked the fact that Isobel KNEW what kind of man Tariq was and that she should steer clear, but neither of them could help it. When left alone w/out any distractions things just seemed to develop between them. Isobel wants to help Tariq and he needs to recuperate a bit after his accident so his helpful assistant, Isobel, agrees to take him to her out of town cottage and watch him for a while. Probably a bad idea, but she didn’t think there was anything between them….right? And oh my, the thoughts in Tariq’s head!! These books start pushing some limits, don’t they? So even though Tariq wants her he will hold out for a while because she has a gift for someone else and he doesn’t want to take it. He also doesn’t want to lose her as his assistant and he burns her a bit too w/ his claim to be able to resist her at any time. Yeah, right. So proves impossible for him and he lays down the ground works – no commitment. Doesn’t hurt she on the pill and they do go unsheathed after all she can’t be tainted and no unwanted pregnancy now either – question? Can’t he be tainted condom or not? He treats her bit cavalier at times, but Izzy puts up w/ it. Things get more involved and they get to know each other, sometimes Tariq is great and sometimes he too is mean, but he always seems honest. Tariq, like other Hs, has baggage and he NEVER wants to have children and once again I want to know why he didn’t do the snip-snip if he was so adamant. Seems to me when they don’t then they are in limbo and just waiting to get snagged. Well, of course, that happens!

She was falling for him and changing the rules and of course, Tariq was getting more involved as well and running scared. However, he did truly miss her and he tells her some of these things and then the bomb is dropped! Tariq is VERY nasty to Izzy too! She does stand up to him some calling what they do the three letter word instead of the nice pretty four letter word. LOL! R/S over Tariq, this from Izzy, and they will act civilly towards one another. She lets him be involved in pregnancy, some headlines get out, she tries to set some people straight and Tariq doesn’t seem to like that. He starts changing his mind about things and truly apologizes to her for what he had said and he really wants her forgiveness. He opened up to her and shared things w/ her then, but Izzy still refused to marry him. When he finds the right reasons, Izzy finally relents.

I read this one after I'd read Monarch of the Sands (his brother's story)and I really enjoyed both. The love story was much more interesting than normal and the characters really engaged my interest.

Sharon Kendrick has written so many books, it's not surprising that reading any of them can be a hit and miss affair. She's written ones I have disliked and ones I have loved. This one really was lovely and I enjoyed the developing relationship between h/Hand the growth in the hero particularly.

It’s perfect for a snowy morning, a rainy afternoon or a bright sunny day on holiday. It’s a book I have read more than once and loved it every time.

“At heart, he was a deeply old-fashioned man, with plenty of contradictory values. For him sex had always been laughably easy—yet he didn’t respect a woman who let him too close, too soon. Especially as he had a very short attention span when it came to the opposite sex. He liked the slow burn of anticipation—to prolong the ache of desire until it became unbearable. So when the blonde had made it very clear that she was his for the taking—some primitive sense of prudery had reared its head.”

So he wanted sex, but he wanted the woman to play games. Charming.

This is why I hated this book. Couldn't get past chapter 2.

It’s a nice story and he’s a nice H and she’s nice too. For people who like ‘nice’, this is excellent.

But I like a H to be an alpha male. After all, this is romantic fiction, not real life.

This H wasn’t an alpha male. He let her dictate the rules for both of them. She laid down the law, not he. And he just went along with it.

It was a bit awkward in the beginning when she had to practically persuade him to sleep with her. He is a nice guy, so he wanted to do the right thing and not take her virginity. He rejected her at first.

In my opinion he didn’t feel a passionate, all-consuming ‘Charlotte Lamb’ kind of love for her, but more a ‘sense of belonging’ kind of love because they made a baby together.

Sheikh/boss - assistant romance.
H is a womanizer with a lonely/painful childhood. h is a working class girl raised by a single mother ....emotional baggage.
He has an accident and..... bang, forbidden fantasies for his hardworking/demure assistant. Guess what happens?
Enjoyed it.
Note: sex scenes are quite explicit.

I have no words to describe izzy, one minute she knows what shes doing and the next minute she doesnt. She knew the score and she immediately started building castles in the sky. her actions annoyed me a lot but most times they were understandable.
Tariq was just a different case i understood him and didnt at the same time(weird right).
But it was ok.i've read Worse

Both the hero and heroine are a refreshing change from the usual romance novels characters. The story too progresses nicely and you can understand their POV. A good read

‘The Sheikh’s Undoing’ is a great quick raunchy read that any contemporary Mills & Boon fan should have on their bucket list.

Describing the developing relationship of a wealthy Middle Eastern business tycoon and his PA, this book opens with the dramatic revelation that the normally confident powerhouse Tariq has been involved in a car accident and so his assistant, Izzy, rushes to his bedside.

As the story progresses, Izzy sees a sweeter, more sensitive side of Tariq that she hasn’t seen before and Tariq realises how much he needs her in his moment of weakness. It’s a classic cliché in many respects, but author Sharon Kendrick manages to tell Tariq’s and Izzy’s story with such warmth and eloquence that the reader can’t help but warm to the characters and feel fully swept up in their story.

Of course, ‘The Sheikh’s Undoing’ is a quick throwaway read, but one that manages to be a good, well-written and interesting story, with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader engaged and enough humour that it is unafraid to point fun at itself.

I’d definitely read other books by Kendrick, who has carved a niche for herself with her Prince Charmings’ all hailing from the fictitious land of Khayarzah. She describes this exotic country beautifully and it’s not difficult to be fully swept up in her vision of this place, with the added excitement of an unfurling steamy romance!

For some reason I love sheikh books, these are my favorite different romances. They are almost not contemporary because the reality and the life is completely opposition from the occidental, so it’s like a fantasy for me and I loved watching Tariq discover his secretary is actually more than he hoped for. I liked this couple and we can clearly see that Tariq wanted more for his life, but circumstances and golddiggers make things difficult for him and the only person he really trust is Isobel. They studied together and that for me made things more special.

Tariq needed someone to see him completely and Isobel was perfect because she knew him before all the fame and money. He was just a kid when they met and she had a crush on him for ages. Their conversations and moments together showed how deep their love could go real fast.

Truly fabulous steamy read! Stunning rake/playboy Tariq is injured and calls on his indispensable PA Isobel "Izzy" Mulholland to sort out another mess for him. But he doesn't figure that his recuperation is to be spent with her in her remote cottage. It is then that he finally sees a different side to his PA and begins to desire her. What follows is a very steamy and passionate romp where Izzy challenges him on his every move and doesn't behave the way of his former women.
Absolutely loved Tariq to bits. Fab fab fab.
