About the author

Birgitta Sif studied art and design in the United States and worked as a children’s book designer at several publishers before moving to England to study illustration. She calls Oliver, her first book, "the beginning of the best journey I’ve ever taken." Recently she returned to live in her native Reykjavík, Iceland.

Die Autorin Brigitta Sif hat dieses Buch für ihre beiden Töchter verfasst, wobei sie sowohl die Texte, wie auch für die Illustrationen erstellt hat. Das hat den Vorteil, dass sie beides sehr gut direkt zusammen komponieren konnte. Das Bilderbuch enthält acht Kapitel, die unabhängig voneinander jeweils unterschiedlichen Themen aufgreifen. Mal sind es Mut machende Themen, mal philosophische oder auch einfach nur erklärende Worte, die klar machen, dass manche Dinge einfach passieren können.

Der junge Leser muss noch nicht lesen können, um Gefallen an diesem Buch zu haben, weshalb der Verlag dieses für Kinder ab drei Jahren empfiehlt. Selbstredend, dass solche Bilderbücher zuerst mit einem Erwachsenen gelesen werden. Anschließend lädt das Buch dazu ein, dass das Kind selbstständig die schönen Illustrationen erkundet, die in meinen Augen sehr zart die jeweiligen Themengebiete darstellen.

Alle Themen gebündelt erfasst, ist dieses Buch eine Ode an das Leben. Ich denke jetzt nicht, dass Erwachsene das Buch gezielt kaufen werden, kann mir aber sehr gut vorstellen, dass Eltern sehr gerne zu diesem Buch greifen und dann sich ebenso daran erfreuen wie die Kinder.

Są takie książki, które nie tylko czytamy, ale przede wszystkim przeżywamy. Kiedy wzięłam do rąk „Moje serce będzie z Tobą, gdziekolwiek pójdziesz” autorstwa Birgitty Sif, wiedziałam, że mam do czynienia z czymś wyjątkowym. Już sama okładka z połyskującym zdobieniem robi ogromne wrażenie – elegancka, dopracowana.

To książka, która zachwyca na wielu poziomach – estetycznym, literackim i emocjonalnym. Nie jest przeznaczona tylko dla dzieci – dorośli znajdą w niej równie wiele dla siebie. To taka pozycja, do której chce się wracać, kiedy potrzebujemy otuchy, przypomnienia o tym, co ważne, albo po prostu chwili spokoju.

Jeśli lubicie piękne, dopracowane wydania i książki, które zostają w sercu na długo, ta propozycja jest absolutnym must have. Idealna też na narodziny dziecka, chrzest czy urodziny.

How come an adult like me got teary reading this book? I don't know.
But I am so grateful that Birgitta wrote this book.
The illustrations are wonderful, it has a tenderness in it.
The words are simple, familiar words but somehow this is something that I needed to hear from my mom, but don't get. It touched the wounded part of me, and let me tell you reading this book is healing me!

This is the book that I would give to the people that I love. It does not matter whether you are an adult or a young reader, I know that everyone will just love this book. Please pick it up and read it. Pleaseee....

This book has 8 short stories for Littles. The illustrations are adorably designed to lend a sense of continuity from one story to the next. I love the depth that her visuals have so the child has lots to explore. With the stories having a simplistic gist, as the Littles age it will redeem even more to them with regard to their messages. Perfect book for snuggle time!
