This wasn’t actually my favorite of the series simply because there was so much stuff to fit into the space. Another 50-100 pages would have taken off the rushed feeling and maybe made more sense of a couple of the choices Cassidy seemed to think she needed to make, but which didn’t really make sense to me. The bad guy was pretty easy to read for me.

But I still bumped it up to four stars because I like Cassidy, Ty, and Lantern Beach so well.

INCREDIBLE conclusion to the greatest series I've read this year...ALL. THE. FEELS! There was a twist in this one that I didn't see coming, ANSWERS for everything come out, Cassidy faces her most dangerous mission yet to bring down the gang, and Mac & Ty are truly my heroes. Missed the ice cream truck in this one but WHAT a conclusion!! Loved every bit of it and so glad there is a spinoff coming soon :) :)

I really enjoyed this wrap-up to the series. It was fast-paced and exciting. The great characters of the series, Cady/Cassidy, Ty, and Mac were all back for more action. It was good to see the central ongoing storyline of the series resolved in a positive way, as well as the completion of the romantic aspect. This was a really good series!

Deadly Undertow finally gives us some closure on Cassidy's story, but leaves things open for more Lantern Beach stories. The book had a lot of intense moments and the ending was crazy. I guessed several books ago who the bad guy was, so I wasn't surprised by that. All in all, this was a good read and I look forward to reading the next Lantern Beach book whenever I can get a copy.

Fans of romantic suspense, you need to read the entire Lantern Beach series. Right. Now. Christy Barritt has outdone herself with the conclusion as she ties up all the loose end I’ve wondered about through the first five books.

Cassidy’s past has caught up with her and those she’s grown to love on Lantern Beach are in danger. DH7, the trial, and her old life converge at her front door. Who can she trust?

Plenty of action, several twists and turns, and an ending I did not see coming make Deadly Undertow one of the best series culminations I’ve read.

And the good news is that with the Lantern Beach romantic suspense books, I don’t have to say goodbye to the gang yet.

Deadly Undertow is book six and final book in the Latern Beach Series by Christy Barrity. What an exciting ending to a most wonderful series that keep the reader guessing right up to the very end what was going to happen. Though I hated to see this series come to an end I am excitedly anticipating what Christy will have up her sleeve for her readers with her next series. Deadly Undertow has so many twists, turns and unexpected happenings that keeps you turning page by page right up to the very end. I have so enjoyed reading Cassidy story. Then there is dreamy Ty what is not to say about him.

I have read all of Christy Barritt's books, so of course, I have been reading all of the Lantern Beach novels the moment they come out. From the first book, Hidden Currents, I have been waiting to see how Barritt as going to end the series. Luckily with Deadly Undertow, Cassidy's past finally catches up to her. Filled with a non-stop chase toward and away from the bad guys, Barritt fills a novel with enough suspense to keep me happy. The romance between Cassidy and Ty takes center stage on the fridges of the story as the tension strikes hotter and hotter. I really enjoyed this ending, even though Barritt verified who I figured who the head guy behind DH-7 was, but then again, I'm pretty good at solving mysteries. I thoroughly enjoyed the Lantern Beach series, and I can't wait to see what she plans to come up with next.

Cassidy hasn't heard from her police contact Samuel and isn't sure what happened. Her ex-boyfriend Ryan shows up unexpectedly and tells her she needs to come with him to a new hiding place until the trial. Someone else is also on the island trying to find her Cassidy isn't sure what's going on or who to trust. Can she protect those she cares about and stay alive long enough to testify? A thrilling conclusion to the Lantern Beach series!

I read it in about three hours in order to discover how it ended. I found it to be a very satisfying conclusion. A great series I highly recommend!

Christy Barritt is one of my favourite authors. Her books are full of suspense, a touch of romance and they are grounded in a Christian identity that I like. Clean fun.
Each book in this series is by itself not very long. Each story has it's own arc but the 6 must be read together to come to the end of the tale.
A really good read.
The lives of the main characters continue in the Lantern Beach PD series. And the stand-alone romantic suspense novels.

My thoughts: DEADLY UNDERTOW is the sixth and final book in Ms. Barritt's Lantern Beach series, but she has started a new spinoff series set around that magical beach on the Atlantic Ocean.

Cassidy's time undercover is coming to an end--as she always knew it would--and there is only one possible outcome. With her advisor gone missing and her ex-boyfriend suddenly showing up with stories she found unbelievable--but yet, maybe, possibly believable, she isn't quite sure what to think. But attempts on her life is escalating from an "accidental drowning" when she's caught in an undertow to an abduction, and more. Ever so much more.

Some of it suspended the believability, but the action, the fast pace, the edge of your seat flow of the storytelling never diminished. Fans of Ms. Barritt know what to expect and DEADLY UNDERTOW as well as the other books in this series: Hidden Currents, Flood Watch, Storm Surge, Dangerous Waters, and Perilous Riptide deliver. (I suggest reading them in order)

OH, MY GOODNESS!
I couldn't put this down. So many intense parts! I'm sad the story has ended. I knew it needed to resolve, but I've become so connected with these characters that I feel they're my friends and I want to continue to know what's happening in their lives.

Now with that said, I have to tell you, this Last book in the series is the most suspenseful of them all!
It also let us see Ty and Cassidy’s relationship go through more intense struggles.
Can they survive?
Something happens and their love for each other is put through the biggest test ever.
Cassidy has to make so pretty tough decisions, not knowing if everyone she loves will be okay in the end.

OKAY, get ready because Christy Barritt has really pulled a fast one on us. I can’t say what, because you just have to read it for yourself. It’s got suspense, action, intrigue, and sweet romance.
This book kept my heart racing and I stayed up really late to finish it, but it's all very worth it!

Just when I thought Book #5 of this series was the scariest ever, Christy Barritt has thrilled me more! From the very beginning the reader is made to suspect someone who has always been trusted. A PI is in town saying untrue things about Cassidy. Ryan (her ex) has shown up and she wonders how he found her. Cassidy and Ty are shot at. The mom of her friend, Lucy, who was killed, called Cassidy on a private line and told her more upsetting news.

Then bad things happened to Cassidy. She was kidnapped in a weird way. Then she was threatened with torture. She believed she would not live to testify against the DH-7 gang. Ty, Mac and their friends began searching for Cassidy. The final 10-12 chapters are fast-moving and extremely terrifying. You must read this final book in the Lantern Beach Mysteries to find out the exciting details. Thank you, Christy, for giving me this book to edit and to review.

We are not leaving the Lantern Beach area, though. There are more stories coming. This mystery, however, has been solved.

This book concludes the Lantern Beach mysteries, but I hope the author will write more novels with these winning characters. Cassidy Livingston is still trying to keep a low profile in order to stay alive, but the danger seems to keep ramping up. She’s not sure whom to believe from her former life or if she can ever break free from the deadly gang DH-7’s threats. The story continues the heart-thumping fast-paced action we expect and enough suspense to keep us guessing. Can her former fiancé cause Cassidy to dump her new love? Will she have to spend the rest of her life looking over her shoulder and behind every door? The thrilling conclusion brings answers to many questions and a satisfying conclusion, but that doesn’t mean the series couldn’t continue. Cassidy will always be on the front line fighting crime. The conclusion to the Lantern Beach Mysteries does not disappoint. As a matter of fact, this is a book that you can't put down!! If you like suspense with a touch of romance, this book is for you. In this installment, Cady/Cassidy has to face her past life and make decisions that will affect not only herself but her ex-Navy Seal boyfriend, Ty. As someone from her past comes to Lantern Beach, she has to decide who is telling the truth and if the best course of action is to leave Lantern Beach and Ty. I will warn you that the climax almost makes your heart stop - at least it did for me! For those who will miss Lantern Beach and the very interesting people who live there, I have a feeling that we will be hearing from them again. I did receive an advance copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

Though it is bittersweet to see this series come to a close, I loved this final book! Cassidy was finally in the place of feeling settled, loved, and where she wanted to be, but still had the gang and the bounty on her head hanging over her life. Because she just couldn't stay away from solving mysteries and getting involved in people's lives on Lantern Beach, her life is once more put in danger, as her past catches up with her in the conclusion to this series. Although I had my "suspicious" of who she shouldn't trust and who was trustworthy, I still felt the apprehension of when Cassidy and Ty would figure it out, and what would happen to them in the meantime. I was so engrossed in this book that I couldn't put it down! I was on vacation, and picked it up to begin, and ended up finishing the book the same day! Great read, great conclusion.

Bravo! And a standing ovation!

Just finished this series and it was amazing! I never read books in a series back to back. I like to bide my time and plan the next enjoyment. But this Lantern Beach Mystery series was so good I devoured it all at one time. I couldn't wait to see what the next adventure for Cassidy and Ty and Mac and the crew would behold. And I was never disappointed. One thing I love about her books is they are densely packed with great stories. They don't need gratuitous profanity or titillating sexual scenes. And there aren't any! Clean and richly told. I read the Lantern Beach Series first and wish I'd done them in order but either way these are great stories. You'll fall in love with the characters and cheer them on when they face danger and evil. This is some of the most satisfying reading I've done in awhile.

This is a good book that ends this Lantern Beach series. I think the next series to go to from this series is, The Lantern Beach PD series but that is my guess because I haven't started that book series yet.
Christy Barritt has a lot of Lantern Beach books and I really don't know if they are all "spin-offs" or, if some are a totally different story and I don't know that I will ever know. It would cost me a whole lot of money to get every book in all of the Lantern Beach series of books.
About this book... Cassidy has fallen in love with Lantern Beach and most of the people that live there; she loves her new friends and the corky little town so much so that she never wants to leave and that is when she comes up with a plan.
The plan seems to work until, it doesn't.
I will try to get the next group of books, hopefully I can find them all together on Audible or better yet, free.

Joelle Reads Her Bookcase #28

I've had this series in my Kindle and I've finally forced myself to finish it. For reasons I do not understand, I own the companion/sequel series to it as well. I think I forgot how much I couldn't stand the predictable plots, the really bad writing, and the mistakes. People get their names changed book to book, characters are introduced, then left forgotten about, and sometimes their entire story line is changed in between books. And so many rippling muscles and sweet smelling hair and loooooooooooong kisses. 😂😂 These books never cross any lines; I would never classify them as "steamy". But seriously: do dating couples REALLY spend that.much.time kissing and thinking about each other's shampoo?

Deadly Undertow is the conclusion to the Lantern Beach Mystery series and WOW – what a conclusion it was! It moves at a lightning fast pace and has many heart stopping moments. It's action-packed and impossible to put down. The intrigue and danger starts early in the book and doesn't let up. My anxiety level shot through the roof multiple times. I couldn't read it fast enough.

I won't say much more because I don't want to spoil anything. If you haven't picked up a copy of Deadly Undertow yet, hurry and read it now! You won't be disappointed. This has been an absolutely fantastic series. I'm sad to see it end, but am super excited for what Christy Barritt has in store next.

A great ending to the series but not the last we see this group of people or the island. This time it's time to pay the piper and be done. Ryan shows up. Samuel's on the run. And someone new is looking for her on the island. It's all hands on deck to keep her safe but will that be enough. There's plenty of suspenseful moments as things unfold. Ty just wants to make sure everything they want comes through at the end. Cassidy is trying to make sure she can stop running and put her past where it belongs. I gotta admit I wasn't at fan at first but by the end of the series this author had won me over. I truly enjoyed the series.

Stayed up late to read it all

I have every book in the series. Most excellent. But this one topped it off. A real heart stopper. I kid you not. I started it early this evening and absolutely could not put it down. Movie material for sure. So glad there is more to come! I got attached to Ty and Cassidy. You will too but read the whole series. You can read this as a stand alone thanks to a couple of flash back chapters but you would miss so much action. Thank you, C.B. for being such a great writer.

A wonderfully scary end of the series

I have enjoyed this series very much. The characters are ones that you would love to have as your friends and who wouldn't enjoy living on a beautiful island in the sun where you can go to the beach everyday. In this last book Cassidy takes a lot of chances with her life wanted to end this once and for all. Although I had kind of suspected who was the bad guy it didn't change the suspense of how it all went down. Christy always keeps you on your toes with her books and I definitely recommend this book and the whole series.

Ho hum

Overall the story line was ok, but the author has a habit in this series of making her two stars appear to be stupid at times. I’m no detective or ex navy SEAL but I sure wouldn’t have fallen into the traps they did. Ty an ex terrorist hunter was made out to be naive, something I’m sure a navy SEAL is not. And Caddy, the detective? I sure wouldn’t want either of them protecting me.
A good romantic yarn that you can flick through quickly if you don’t dwell on the detail. I liked Lantern Beach.

This was a great conclusion for a great series. I’m giving this a 5-star review even though I figured out last book or so who was behind DH-7. But I thought Christy Barritt did an awesome job throughout the series providing wonderful characters, action packed suspense, and stellar mystery elements. And even though this is the last book in the series, I’m excited that the characters live on in a continuation of the series. I will be reading that as well!

Wow, what a great ending to an amazing series!! I am so sorry to see it end :'( In the book that ties everything together, Cassidy Livingston, finds herself in another situation that calls for her insight and detective work. With mystery and intrigue, the plot will have you wondering what is coming next. Once you start, you won't want to put it down--yeah it is that good!! Heart pounding conclusion to an amazing series!

Cassidy is faced with the opportunity she has been waiting for, to finally bring DH-7 to an end. However, when some of the people she thought were trying to help her reach that goal show up in Lantern Beach, Cassidy no longer knows who she can believe or trust. Although Cassidy loves Ty, and wants a future with him more than anything, she knows she must finish her undercover assignment first. Ty feels helpless as he is forced to watch Cassidy make the decision of who to trust, and return as detective Cady Matthews to testify against the dangerous gang. Will Cassidy choose the right person to trust so she can live to have her happily ever after with Ty?

This book is definitely a thrill ride! You will want to read this series in order as it is a continuous story. I loved every book in this series!

What a stellar and satisfying conclusion to Christy Barritt's Lantern Beach series. Cassidy has no idea who deserves her trust except Ty and Mac as she again depends on them to keep her secrets and protect her as she protects them. As loose ends and players clash in this finale, both futures and lives are in peril. You'll follow a labyrinth of deception to the bitter end.

The conclusion to the Lantern Beach Mysteries, Deadly Undertow, wraps up Cady Matthews adventures with the deadly gang, DH7. This is a non stop, drama filled, hold your breath finale that will not leave you disappointed! I'm sad this series is over but excited there will be more books featuring people from Lantern Beach! Christy Barritt has done an exceptional job with Lantern Beach Mysteries and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.
