Adam. Enigmatic. Arrogant. Unwilling to take no for an answer. Everything about him threatens my carefully constructed life. Everything about him makes me want him more.

Isabelle Jennings has it good. She’s a self-proclaimed guys’ girl (football, beers, and kicking back with her “bros”) who has worked hard for everything she’s gotten. And she’s succeeded. Only twenty-six, she already has a startup company – one that helps her atone for past sins. She has (well, had) a healthy sex life, a great apartment and an even better group of friends. No romantic entanglements. No mess. Just how she likes it.

Enter Adam Weston, a young, ambitious businessman in Chicago. Between his money, looks, and charm, he’s never had a problem with women. Until Isabelle.

Overwhelmed by her attraction to him, Isabelle does everything she can to avoid the charismatic playboy. But Adam won’t give up that easily. He dares her to be with him, promising sex sans strings.

Isabelle’s burdened with a nightmarish guilt she can’t outrun. And Adam won’t settle for less than everything. He’s breaking down her walls, one touch, one look, at a time.

** Due to language and sexual content, this book is recommended for readers who are 18 or older.**

4 Catch me if you can and Alpha male heroes Stars

“You can run as far, as fast, as hard as you want. It won’t matter. Your demons are always one step behind.”

description

A strong, independent and successful woman.
A man that knows what he wants and he won't let it get away.

A story about two strong-willed individuals that meet their match in each other.

description

Isabelle Jennings, hides a dark secret. The strong woman is just a facade to keep everyone at arm's length. Not even her closest friends and associates, the three men that mean everything to her, really know the emotional turmoil, guilt and fear that haunt her.

"Intellectually, you can tell yourself to think rationally. To accept the past and move on. To consider that things might be okay. Intellectually you can say that. But deep down? Deep down, it feels like a lie."

description

When Adam Weston saves a young woman from getting hit by a car, he didn't anticipated the overwhelming attraction, the smoldering chemistry between them. Sex without strings sounds easy but emotions run deep and can't be ignored.

Izzy will run fast and is up to Adam to catch her...

This a was a great debut novel!!
Romance, decent storyline, fascinating characters. I was intrigued with Izzy's secrets and the mystery sub-plot, meanwhile the sex left me looking for a cold shower.

I am coming back for more! Will and .....'s sister??

What an intriguing Prologue!!! Katherine Grant hooked me from page ONE. I wanted…no, scratch that, I needed to know what happened. This was a true page turner for me. Loved it. Great debut novel!
“You can run as far, as fast, as hard as you want. It won’t matter. Your demons are always one step behind.”

Isabelle Jennings had a traumatic past. One that could break and haunt anyone. And one that didn’t exactly stay in the past, but rather threatened her present and future. Isabelle had very high and strong walls around her heart. She didn’t let anyone in. She didn’t do relationships because she knew they could get messy….really messy. So she kept her heart closed off. She stayed safe. Isabelle was athletic (loved running), independent, and successful at what she did. She had her own business with her best friends and were in the process of expanding their services. It seemed everything was working it for her. Seemed.

Adam. An alpha male in every sense of the word. Protective, possessive, dominant, and YUMMY. He was super successful and the type of man that worked hard for what he wanted…he never took no for an answer. Gosh, I LOVED Adam. He had a sexy and cocky attitude that kept me wanting more and more.
“I’m making you my business, even though I have a feeling you may not be very good for me.”

Adam wanted Isabelle, so he went for her. There was only so much she could do to not give into him. It was one of those things in life that was just inevitable. But of course, Isabelle’s past prevented her from fully giving him her heart. There were a few times throughout the book where I wanted to smack her……hard. But also, there were times where I felt for her. After experiencing the horrible things she had gone through, I imagine I’d have issue with even thinking of being in another relationship. So I got it. And Adam finally caught her.
“I can’t keep away from you. And I won’t apologize for it.”

A lot happens throughout this book. A lot. So, I won’t ruin it for you by going into the details, but trust me, Catch Me was a fantastic read. It had suspense that kept me turning the pages, HOT and passionate scenes, a swoon-worthy romance, and an intriguing story line. The secondary characters – Will, James, and Malcom -- were amazing too! Seriously, great, great, GREAT debut novel. I recommend you grab your copy today. Adam and Isabelle are a couple you have to meet! I can’t wait for Will’s book!!!!
“I’ll always take care of you, kid. I promise.”

This was a very enjoyable read - very true to the description above. Isabelle is dealing with grief and misplaced guilt from a high school romance that ended badly, impacting her from having a meaningful romantic relationship. Years later she meets Adam, while a billionaire CEO, his wealth is never really flaunted in this book, in fact he lives in her apt bldg. temporarily, not typical of a playboy. He is extremely possessive, jealous and alpha - borderline obsessive, but really sweet all in all. Great side characters too in the male friends Isabelle runs a company with. Some grammatical errors throughout but not enough to take away from the book. Dialog not too notable, won't hear anything earthshattering, but their chemistry and hot sex and easy to follow plot make for a good read.

(Loyal, no cheating, no cliffhanger, standalone but in a series with other characters)

Oh how good it started. Captivating, funny.. and then. The end just ruined it. I actually had to force myself to Finnish it, it was that bad. This girl is in my opinion too high on herself too think that she has the power to turn someone mad. No. That is called mental illness, if you wouldn't have triggered it someone else would have.
Ugh. Sorry. It gets 3 out of 5 cause the beginning was like I said, really good. But the end just ugh. No. Goodbye. Not reading you again.

"If I got rid of all my demons, I'd loose all my angels."~Tennessee Williams

I want to start this by saying...That Prologue Tho!!!!!! Wow!! You are sucked in right away.

Katherine did a wonderful job with her debut novel! There is suspense, humor, swoon worthy moments and hotness!!

This is a story of Isabelle Jennings. Isabelle has had some pretty rough things happen to her in her past that anyone would want to forget. With the help of her three best friends James, Malcolm and Will, they start their own company called Artisan Worldwide. Everything is going well and they even have a bigger opportunity coming their way when suddenly she runs into the one person that will change her life.

Adam Weston. It was love at first collision. He saved her from being steamrolled by a car. It was an interesting meet-cute to say the least. The attraction was immediate and it scared Isabelle.
"The half smile on his face deepened. Dear lord, the man had dimples. Dimples!"

Adam felt the same attraction and knew he couldn't loose this feeling.
"...he put his fingers under my chin and lifted it, those gray eyes bright and mesmerizing on mine. Ruh-roh. 'I'm sorry, kid, but this can't be helped.' and then he kissed me."

They had just met and now they are kissing, but that's it. They will never see each other again, right?! That's what Isabelle thinks, but fate is funny like that.
Who would have thought that the same man that rescued her, gave her an amazing kiss and scared her at the same time would be her new neighbor? He charmed her with his Casablanca ways and she couldn't ignore the fact that she enjoyed every minute of it.

"Why 'kid'? Like in Casablanca?" He smirked. "Of all the apartments in the world...""...you had to move into mine." I finished for him. "Isabelle?" "Yeah." "I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

Their friendship did grow and so did the realization that Isabelle was falling hard and fast for Adam and that was the feeling that she never wanted to have again. She was so scarred from her past that she never wanted to repeat it.
"You can run as far, as fast, as hard as you want. It won't matter. Your demons are always one step behind."

Adam is determined that he will break down all of Isabelle's barriers and make her realize what they have is real.
(upon their first meeting) "You're like a flame...I saw you and everything else blurred. I was terrified that that spark would go out before I even got to feel it for myself. I'd never met someone so brave and equally stupid in my life and I knew I couldn't let you get away."

Slowly, she starts to break away from the walls she's built up for so long.
"When he touched me, I felt safe., like he'd protect me from the rest of the outside world. It was an illusion, I knew, I wanted to believe it, if only for a moment. I'd forgotten what safe felt like."

I loved when Isabelle finally starting letting Adam in and trusting him. But I knew it couldn't be the end of their story. That would be too easy. When is life or love ever easy?
What happens when the people in your life aren't who you think they are? What do you do when your past catches up to your present and there's no stopping it?

"Life isn't a fairy tale. Monsters are real, and they don't go away when you turn on the light and look under the bed. No one knew that better than me."~Isabelle

"You can't let you past take over your entire life."~Adam

Friendships will be tested. Lives will be changed forever. Love will sacrifice.

"I'll always take care of you, kid."~Adam

This book was amazing!!!! I loved all the characters! Isabelle is so broken, but yet so brave. Adam is what you would want in an alpha male. Strong, determined and willing to do anything for the love of his life. I loved her best friends. James, oh James!! He's the best!! Malcolm and Will certainly made me upset at times, but I loved them anyway. Katherine did a wonderful job of bringing this story and these characters to life. I can not wait to read more from this truly talented author!!!

"There are parts of us that we can never outrun. They hold on forever. But with time, they release their claws, little by little. Shadows that follow you but grow smaller in the sun."~Isabelle

‘Catch Me’ is book one in the ‘Come Closer Series.’ Katherine Grant had me hooked from the start with a terrifying prologue that I couldn’t help but turn each page in anticipation to see what lie ahead.

Isabelle (Izzy) has a haunting past that she can’t seem to escape and while she has moved on with her life, others haven’t. Isabelle is a strong, successful woman, who is content with not having a man in her life. She’s a love them and leave them type and makes that fact quite clear with the men she chooses to be with. While her life is far from perfect, she’s happy and content and has the support of her three best friends, James, Malcolm, and Will, who happen to be her business partners, and love her unconditionally, despite her quirks.

Adam is successful, hot, and single, and never takes no for an answer. When he meets Isabelle, he’s anything but shy. However, when it comes to business, he has a coolness that is reserved, and he allows the natural order of discovery to occur about his career, rather than tell her exactly who he is.

I don’t want to reveal much as to keep my review spoiler free; however, ‘Catch Me’ was a fantastic read that I couldn’t seem to put down. There are moments of realness, laughter, and plenty of ‘Oh My God’ moments that any reader would be happy to experience with a twist that you won’t see coming.

*A few of my favorite quotes:

Isabelle:

“This wasn’t him dangling a carrot in front of me. This was Lucy, putting the football in front of Charlie Brown. In this case, the powers that be were Lucy, I was Charlie Brown, and Adam was the football. Except I didn’t want to kick him, I wanted to fuck him.”

Adam:

“I’m sorry kid, but this can’t be helped.”

“I’ll always take care of you, kid. I promise.”

“Only fifty-one seconds. I win.”

I really loved reading ‘Catch Me’ and would recommend anyone to take a chance on the ‘Come Closer Series.’ It’s a suspenseful, steamy read. You won’t be disappointed.

What an enthralling book this turned out to be. Even though the Prologue was very captivating, it took me a couple of chapters to really settle into this story. Once I was hooked, I found the plot to be riveting and it totally absorb me, evident by staying up way too late reading it.
At first this appears to be a standard plot, the millionaire playboy with a charismatic personality falls for the hard-working girl, and hides his true identity from her. As you continue to read, you discovered the author takes that mainstream storyline, and adds intrigue, a heroine with a very secretive and dark past, a sexy hero that displays controlling and possessive traits, three male business partners each with their own egos, then add in a mysterious stalker, and you have a book that is anything but predictable.
Isabelle and Adam enter into a very passionate and sexy relationship. Be warned, the bedroom scenes are plentiful and very descriptive, and certainly not vanilla. Adam’s dominant and manipulative behaviors can make him at times, hard to like. As the story evolves, you discovered why he is so over-protective and controlling. He had to endure a tragic event that abruptly ended his childhood and shaped him into the man he is today. Even though he can be a force of nature, you see his tender side with his loved ones.
Isabelle’s past controls her. You know that something very dark occurred between her and her high school boyfriend, Simon. I found myself perplexed with her story, as the author only gives you pieces and parts of her life with Simon.
Isabelle and Adam’s involvement is convoluted and intense. As a reader, the author brought me into their complicated relationship and I could feel Isabelle and Adam’s desire and love, yet I was still skeptical for their future. I was skeptical about everyone and found myself questioning everyone’s intentions, from Isabelle, to her colleagues, to Adam. I think Alfie was the only one, I did not doubt.

What a great debut novel! The sex scenes were, well, sexy, the dialogue was funny, the characters were interesting, different, and real, the suspense plot was unique but also fit in well with the romance plot, and speaking of the romance:

Who doesn't love Adam? Hot, powerful, caring... I almost didn't want Isabelle to have him because I wanted him. There were moments where I thought Isabelle needed to pull her head out of her ass, but ! I believed them as a couple, and I wanted them to be together from the first scene.

Quick summary:

Isabelle Jennings is a dog person, and when her dog goes barreling into traffic, she chases after him and almost gets hit by a car. Adam Weston saves her, and immediately (because it's a book, not real life, lol) asks her out. She turns him down. From there you could have your classic boy wants hard to get girl, girl has reservations story, except that the suspense gives it a twist... and so does Isabelle's life. She has guilt she's hiding from, and Adam has to help her move past it.

One of the great things about the book was Isabelle herself. She owns and runs part of a business with her friends, which she is serious about -- it comes up a couple times in the book. And her best friends are three guys, Malcolm, Will, and James, and they all love each other. Isabelle seems laid back about a lot of stuff, but she's also hiding a lot.

If I could, I'd give this 4.8 stars. I didn't need to know thaaat much about Isabelle's business, and... but then there would be no book!

I really liked it

I was shocked to read this was the authors first published story. She has a talent for writing characters that were easy to fall in love with.

Both the H and h were wonderful, overcoming horrible past experiences. Adam was a controlling H who liked to know that the people he loved were safe and being cared for. Iz wanted to protect the people she loved by keeping an emotional distance...Adam got past the barrier.

There were the usual ups and downs that happen in most relationships, but Adam's perseverance and determination to get past Izzy's issues made me fall in love with his character.

This story was a great steamy read with fantastic chemistry between the main characters.

This was a really good story with lots of great additional characters that I hope will have stories written about them. Great job Ms Grant, I will definitely be reading your future books.

I can't with this book. DNFing at about the 40% mark. My problem with this book is this: The heroine was mentally abused (at least) with a previous boyfriend. He was controlling, possessive to an extreme (at least that is what I've gained with only reading the first half) In present day, heroine has met her neighbor who is already extremely controlling. In a different book, a controlling, colder hero can be fun..but in this book knowing the heroine's history - and how she tells this new guy "no" but then he goes ahead and kisses her anyway and tells her - oh yes it's going to happen - squicks me out. Also, just because there is physical 'romantic' contact - kissing, touching etc - that isn't the same as emotional intimacy, which is lacking from this story.

I was totally hooked from page one. Adam - determine, stubborn, relentless, tender and protective. A true alpha male in my opinion. I love the way he loved Isabella. Love that she was a strong female. It had a lot of hot and steamy sex scenes, a touch of romance and a little bit of mystery. All recipe for a great read. In my opinion this book deserve 3 As.

Amazing - Adam
Awesome - Isabella

Fairly good. I just didn't warm to the characters very much. Half way through, i found myself not caring about how the story was going to pan out.
That's not to say this is a bad read though.

review to follow. I liked Adam, he was alpha go-after-my-woman kind of guy. He was a tad too forward and pushy instead of dominant.
