I am such a massive fan of Aurora Rose Reynolds' Until series. And when this happily ever alpha series was announced I couldn't have been happier. Because as awesome as Aurora is, man does she write slow (or you know at a normal speed that doesn't produce a book every few days). So, any chance to get more of her world and her magical boom and I am all for it.
The best thing about this whole thing is that a lot of the stories follow the same formula that I love. Insta love, OTT heroes, some drama, some macho man beat down and a HEA to make my heart happy.
Selma and Tavonte were exactly what I went into this book wanting. I loved that he had a crush on her in high school and that as soon as he saw her, he was committed to winning her over. I also loved that he wasn't the high school big man on campus. And having Selja there pushing her along gave me loads of giggles and good feels.
I am so glad I picked this book up because it was the perfect lazy public holiday read.
I hope you are ready for Tavonte because he is about to sweep you off your feet. Selma Black is a girl I would love to have a friend. She is sweet, a bookworm, funny and so giving. Although she may be living too much in her book world and not out enjoying what the real world has to offer. She is settling for a man that doesn't deserve her and always putting others needs before her own. Tay is fresh out of a 10 year tour in the military and he is ready to plant roots in his home town. Imagine his surprise when he realizes that the beautiful young woman that he had a crush on in high school is still very much unmarried. It is now or never to swoop in, sweep her off her feet and show her how a real man can love her. This couple was sweet, sexy, real and so darn good for one another. ~~Michele McMullen ~~
I loved Tay! I couldn't think of a better guy for Selma. I loved watching him treat her the way she's supposed to be treated and that she is worth so much more than she thinks. The chemistry between these two is undeniable. I absolutely loved their connection. Definitely one of my favourites.
This second chance, small-town romance between a former soldier/mechanic and his high school crush is not as expected. He's not the former playboy you find in so many books. She's not the scorned woman that's common either. He's come home to help with some family drama. She's tired of settling for less.. He's looking to settle down, but no woman ever interested him but her. She's a book addict who wants a happily ever after with a house and kids, the whole dream. Together they make a love story that will knock your socks off.
As a big Harley Stone and Dead Presidents MC fan, I jumped at the chance to receive and advanced copy for review. And I loved every word!
Oh man I was myself in love with Tay from the start. And he just got better and better as the story goes on.
Tay and Selma knew each other from high school and he has always had a crush on her and now that he is back in town he is wanting to put down roots and he knows exactly who the women is he wants to settle down with.
Selma was my type of girl. Book nerd and always just wanting to stay home. But then again she wasn’t living her life staying at home all the time. And when Tay came along it seemed like everything was happening too fast for her, but Tay kept on convincing her that he was here to stay 😊 ♥
This story definitely fit in with the whole BOOM saga and you will definitely be all in one once you start this, just make sure you having waiting for you cause you will want to finish this one in one go 😊 ♥
A brand new book is here in ARR's Happily Ever Alpha World and I'm happy to say this is another really, really good one in this world (definitely a reread for me in the future!). I've loooooved most of the books so far and this made that list.
Sweet. Swoony. Sexy. All the insta-feels in the very best ways and in the best moments. Tavonte and Selma hooked me hard and hooked me fast with all the heart and all that heat.
New Harley Stone reader and wowza! What a romance in the addicting Happily Ever Alpha World y'all. I'm super glad I took a chance on this beauty and I'll totally be running to check out Harley's backlist soon.
Sweet story . Slow paced and no dram between the main couple . No ow drama at all which is great. The ending left me with a big smile on my safe for this sweet couple .
Tay is a dream! Such a strong gentleman. Tay has crushed on Selma for years. Returning home from military service, Tay sees Selma and has his Boom! This is a sweet and satisfying love story. The secondary story of Kia and her friend Alyssa is very poignant and adds drama and suspense. I hope those girls get their own stories.
I absolutely loved Selma and Tavonte. What can I say about the newest addition to ARR's HEA world? I can say it made me laugh, mad me a little angry in spots, but it also gave me so many warm fuzzies I read this book in one sitting with no breaks. For me that isn't anything new, what was new was I immediately re-read this book. I loved it the second time through as well. If you love HAWT Alpha males, sassy leading ladies and crazy family and friends this is the book for you.
Another BOOM story I couldn't put down. I love these stories and I will read them every time. They are just feel good books that fly by because you're enjoying the happiness and bit of drama these strong characters give off. I can't recommend the UNTIL books enough. If you're ever in a rut this along with many others will help you out!
Another new to my author within the BOOM World! I greatly enjoyed these characters and felt invested in their stories and those around them as supporting characters. I feel like Tay’s sister need her own story one day. Fingers crossed!
Until Selma is one of the latest in ARR’s HEA World. But it’s also a bit of a spin-off of Harley‘s Dead Presidents MC Series. Selma is one of the sisters of the hero of Until December. Tavonte was introduced in Taming Bull. The crossover of the two series was beautifully done and this book is a complete stand alone. The other books don’t have to be read, but I recommend both series of books because they are good. Dead Presidents and Until Her are two of my favorite series.
I saw someone else’s review that said this was an insta-love story. Can it truly be insta-love if they’ve know each other for years but only just very recently started a relationship? I love the chemistry between Tay and Selma, and the way their relationship grew or exploded (but hey, can it really be a HEA book if it doesn’t have the BOOM?)
Harley Stone wrote a phenomenal book. This is going with my growing list of favorites. And will be a favorite reread.
When I received my ARC of Until Selma by Harley Stone I was so excited to get started because when I read Until December I knew I wanted to read the story of Gareth's younger twin sisters Sejla and Selma. So when I saw that Harley Stone had written Selma's story within the Happily Ever Alpha World I was like YES!! Please give it to me right now so I can read her story. When I was reading the book I saw a lot of myself in Selma, a book nerd that enjoys staying home and reading rather than going to a club so I could really put myself in the story. Tavonte Jones is fresh out of the army and he's back in his hometown to figure out what he wants to do with the rest of his life. What he didn't expect was having to help his teenaged sister get over a creep that cheated on her with her best friend and who is far too old her her. He also didn't expect to run into his high school crush, Selma Black, the one that he didn't have the courage to ask out when he was a freshman and she was a senior, his first day back in town. Selma didn't have too much contact with Tavonte when she was in high school but she remembers him as the shy boy in her art class that helped her with a folded book art that she was working on to give to her favorite author. The young boy she remembered has definitely grown up into a mans man and she can't help but like and be attracted to what she sees along with the good man she knows he his. Selma is wary about getting into a relationship because all of the guys she seems to date want to date around and not commit and she's done with that. Luckily for Selma Tavonte knows what he wants and it is and always has been Selma and he'll do anything to prove to her that he's in it for the long haul and he doesn't want to date anyone but her.
I really liked Tay when he showed up in the book Taming Bull, was sad that he didn't stay in Seattle. So when I saw this book, I knew I'd be reading it! I have the added bonus of reading the Until series, so I recognize the series it's related to as well.
I really liked how when Tay got home he talked with his mom and then set about doing what he could to get his sister to see that the man she was dating wasn't good. There were some very awkward conversations between the two, with Tay being blunt with Kia, but he needed her to see what was wrong with the whole situation. You could tell he finally got through to Kia when she came face to face with part of the problems. I honestly didn't expect things to get so out of control towards the end for Kia, but glad that Tay was there and had the resources to help her.
I also really loved Tay's reaction to seeing Selma again, how he had a crush on her in high school and how he wasn't about to let this second chance go. From the start with Selma, Tay let her know he was serious about dating her and serious about where he wanted to see things go with them. Selma needed that, even as she doubted it. But with his words and actions Tay proved to Selma she could trust him and while things might be moving fast, they were moving in the right direction. The ending was perfect for these 2!
He's finished his time served for his country. Now he's home to find a family life of his own and be there for his mother and teen sister who's making some bad decisions. He didn't expect to see the woman he's crushed on since high school.
Her love life has been put on hold--what little she had. She'd decided to live through her romance books and give up on the real thing that was so disappointing. Then she saw the all-grown-up guy--and how-- she'd thought was so sweet in school. She didn't want to date anymore but she just couldn't resist him. Something she couldn't figure out pulled her to him. If she didn't know it was just in books she'd have thought about insta-love.
It was fun watching the families work together and teasing closeness. The couple is everything people dream of in a new relationship. Supportive families, more than a physical attraction, slow but deep feelings for each other.
The book is emotional, sweet, plenty of steam, there is danger, some interaction with the Dead President's MC, and families that support each other. Characters, steam, touching story. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
He knew more about romance books that she thought a hot, built
This book is a wonderful addition to the Happily Ever Alpha world. Tay is another alpha to swoon for and fall in love with. He has wanted Selma since they were in high school, but wasn't able to make it happen then. Now he's back in town and once he sees Selma again, all bets are off and he will stop at nothing to make her his.
Selma doesn't think she will ever get her HEA. She loves her romance books and doesn't think she will ever find anything that will live up to them. When she runs into Tay, she starts to think he may be the one for her. The more he is with her and showing her how much he wants her and cares for her, the harder she starts to fall.
I absolutely loved these two. I was so happy to hear that Selma was getting her own book and couldn't wait to see who her alpha would be. I have to say, I was very happy with her HEA. This books is related to the author's Dead Presidents series and after reading this book, I think I am going to have to go pick up a copy of those books! Well done Ms. Stone! You did a great job of making us fall in love with another alpha and I can't wait to read what else you have in store for us.
Until Selma by Harley Stone was EVERYTHING I needed it to be and more and ABSOLUTELY delivered on the BOOM!
Thinking about Tavonte and Selma still gives me the most delicious shivers up and down my spine!
Oh my GIDDY AUNT but Tay is such a MAN! And that's a good thing. No BS, straight to the point, clear, decisive, confident, and definitely has a wicked way with words. His focus and his intentions and his demeanor all add up to him being an amazing package, and I loved seeing him get his HEA!
And Selma? Sweet, caring, adorable, endearing, kind, loving Selma! I wanted to give her the biggest hug, wanted her to be happy, wanted her to be able to give all the love she held inside and be loved as she deserved in turn. And Harley absolutely delivered on this!
This story just put such a smile on my face. Straight to the point, good lovig, dedication, trust, loyalty, and the best kinds of love you can get. I adore that Selma got her dream man, and that Tay got his dream woman!
BOOM!
P. S. Where's my book boyfriend come to life?
P. P. S. Excuse me while I go reread Until December!
In this story we meet the Black twins, Selma Black and Selja Black. They are sisters to Gareth Black who married December Mayson.
We also meet Tay who went to high school with Selma and had a huge crush on her. He is two years younger than her and is big and buff and black and just out of the military. He is in town to help his mom out with his teenage sister, Kia and he dreams of settling down. When he sees Selma again well thats when the magic starts for him but he has to clue Selma in.
I loved the drama relating to his sister Kia and lets say how he handles it. It was fun, messy and a bit on the dangerous side but I loved that aspect of the story.
This is an awesome addition to the Until series and a wonderful second chance at love with a high school crush (his) and finding forever with a ex military man in a small town with lots of family and siblings and a big BOOM and some drama.
I received a free ARC copy of this book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we get Selma Black's story and are introduced to Tavonte Jones. Selma has just gotten out of a bad relationship. She finally has her seen how he is truly treating her. All she wants to do is hole up in her house but her twin sister won't let that happen. So she goes out and agrees to go out later that night not knowing someone else is listening to their conversation. Tavonte is out of the military and is coming to check on his family. He then learns his younger sister is dating a man way to old for her. He knows he need to step in and make sure she is safe. What he didn't plan on was seeing the one woman from high school he always wanted but didn't think he would be good enough for her. Will these two find a way to a HEA or will they let a second chance go by?
Was so excited for this book and it definitely didn't disappoint. This book will draw you in and not let go. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
This is my first time reading Harley Stone, and it will not be my last. I got this book as an ARC because if it involves the Aurora Rose Reynolds Happily Ever Alpha World, I am on board. This is a n amazing addition to the ARR world that she created over the years. Selma and her twin sister Selja are the younger sisters of Gareth from Until December. This is Selma's story. Tavonte has just come home to live after retiring from the Army. Selma is finally making a point to take the lead in her love life. Tay has harbored a crush on Selma for years, but being younger never made a move. He felt the boom when he was younger, but being so young doesn't get the full effect of it until he moves back and sees Selma again. He had made plans to run into her because he always felt that pull and wanted to see whether or not it was still there. And there is was. What follows is the ARR classic protective alpha who doesn't second guess a single thing when it comes to his woman. There are outside forces and issues that they deal with, but they deal with them together. I adored Tay's mom and thought she was wonderful, and we get those little snippets into Harley Stone's Dead Presidents series that she combines here in the HEA World. Tay and Selma work so well together. They encourage and excited one another, and those two things are felt off of the pages. It is always an amazing visit back into his world. The only thing missing that I feel was missing was I wanted more steamy scenes. This book had them, but I wanted more of the two of them on their own in the element.
Another fantastic addition to the world of ARR’s HEA series combined with a spin-off of sorts from Harley Stones Dead Presidents MC series, main protagonist Selma is the sister of the hero from Until December as for Tavonte he was introduced to us readers in Taming Bull, the crossover from these books was very well executed, resulting in Until Selma being able to be read as a complete standalone, however I highly recommend both series.
Selma and Tavonte have known own another for years and despite the fact she’s two years older than him he used to crush on her back in high school and now he’s out the military and back in town to help his mother out with his sister it looks like that crush is set to ignite with a BOOM when he lays eyes on Selma again.
Prepare to get caught up in some fun, messy drama, often skirting on the dangerous side which make the storyline that much better.
What a wonderful, feel good book! Tayvonte comes home after 10 years in the army to take care of the mother and younger sister he had left behind so many years earlier. Tay runs into Selma, his high school secret crush at a restaurant and makes it his goal to see if she's the same sweet and caring person now as she was then.
This was a quick, sugary sweet, insta-love read that was really just too cute. Zero angst, just warm and fuzzy. The book is a standalone, but is loosely related to her Dead Presidents series. Selma was such a likable character, just an ordinary girl who wanted more from her significant other than she was getting from her book boyfriends. I think we can all relate. Tay was the consummate hero and totally single minded in his pursuit of Selma, going all out. Just an all around great read. Harley Stone never disappoints!
Tavonte Jones is home from the Army to rescue his sister from a not so great dude. As he's doing what brothers do for their sisters, he runs into his old high school crush, Selma, and that's all she wrote for him. Selma has been living through her books (I know the feelings well) because she's well on her way to giving up on HEA's forever. However, things take a turn when she comes across Tavonte, who is determined to make her his this time around. They have sparks, and they're also perfect for each other but nothing great is ever easy. There's more drama (not from them necessarily) which brings on a dangerous edge so he has to keep his family safe while making sure that Selma knows they can have it all. You don't want to miss out on this amazing story as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Until Selma is great second chance romance. Selma and Tavonte have known each since high school but life choices has send them in opposite directions in life until now. After 10 years Tavonte returns home to help with his sister but another woman keeps catching his attention. He always had a crush on Selma but been to afraid to make a move on them until now. Selma can’t help but start falling for him. But their road to HEA will not be a smooth. And we get to go along with them as they finally get their HEA.
Until Selma has some fantastic characters. And some old characters come to visit one the book. Harley Stone does wonderful writing the storyline. Definitely a great addition to the Hea family.
What a great story for Tavonte & Selma! I loved him w/ the Dead Presidents, but am so glad he ended up being part of the HEA world, too! And Selma!!! *grin* She's a shot of sassy goodness, even though she's super shy in the beginning.
This story is STEAMY & sweet & the situation Tay came home for - his sister - adds the perfect amount of drama that doesn't come from Tay & Selma's relationship. I love that kind of character-driven story, and this author did it very, very well. I love the family dynamics we get to see, and Tavonte's combination of alpha-ness & vulnerability is the perfect balance for a book boyfriend.
OMG OMG OMG I love love love Tay and Selma. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. While I am a huge fan of Harley Stone, there are always some books that are better than others. This is by far one of my favorite Harley Stone books. I love all of the dead presidents but this one had that little extra something. The family dynamic is what all men should aspire to, the chemistry between Tay and Selma was amazing, and the fact that Tay did not shy away from difficult situations to be the man that he is made this one of my best reads for the year. Well done Harley I look forward to your next book......can we make it sooner rather than later???????
A feel-good, second chance story. It was a quick read, once I started, I couldn't put it down. I loved how Tay didn't pull any punches or play any games. After 10 years in the service, he comes back to his hometown ready to move forward with his life and plant some roots. Selma is settled in her career and is hearing her biological clock ticking away and is ready for the house, the husband and 2.5 kids. After a crappy break up, she's ready to toss in the towel for a while but her sister and their BFF are having none of it. The story kept me smiling and swooning, but there was also the drama and a bit of chaos. We got to see a few familiar faces and got a snapshot into what was to come for Tay and Selma.
Selma has a job she enjoys and is close to her family however her history with men has her wondering if love and romance exists beyond the stories in her kindle. After spending the last decade in the military Tay has returned to his hometown to be close to his family and begin the next phase of his life.
Selma and Tay knew each other in high school however he was a sophomore, and she was a senior and didn’t think she would be interested. From the moment he sees her again he knows that she is his destiny and isn’t long before she realizes it as well.
Sweet and sexy with a little intrigue as not only are Selma and Tay great characters but their families are as well.
I just love the Happily Ever Alpha series and every addition to the series gets better and better. Until Selma is a sweet insta love story, with a hunky alpha and a sweet FMC.
After a couple tours in the Army, Tavonte is home for good. He spies his high school crush at a diner and is determined to get his chance.
After a bad break up, Selma is feeling pretty low. With the prodding of her twin and best friend, she agrees to go out. When Tay helps her lose some unwanted attention, she’s immediately drawn to the sexy black man.
Helloooo Tavonte!! Can I claim a new book boyfriend...he’s a sexy alpha man who knows what he wants and is not afraid to go after it. Selma and Tay have an immediate connection and I just love their story.
