I grew up in Hideaway Mountain, and run an inn that’s been in my family for generations. One afternoon I get a call from a celebrity’s agent, asking if I would allow his client to stay when we’re usually closed for the offseason. I want to say no—but then he offers me an outrageous amount of money. So, I decide allowing a guest is worth sacrificing my quiet season, especially after his agent assures me he’ll be no trouble. But when Will arrives, I realize right away that I’m in trouble after all—this handsome stranger is about to shake-up my solitary existence in a big way.

I came to the Hideaway Inn to get away from Hollywood, forget about my recent public humiliation, and step away from acting to pursue my true passion—screenwriting. The last thing I expect is to fall head over heels for the reserved owner, who’d rather be hiking than dealing with an unwanted guest. Flora has impenetrable walls built up around her heart, but I’m determined to break through them all. Can I convince this beautiful woman that she’s mine, and I’m hers, forever?

About the author

Eliza Rockwood is primarily a contemporary romance author who loves to write short, spicy, and sweet insta-love stories full of dynamic characters. Though the Hideaway Mountain series is her debut published work, Eliza has been writing since she was a kid (was even presented with the esteemed “Future Novelist” award in her fifth-grade class) and has an undergraduate degree in creative writing. Her romance books are safe reads with heroes who fall fast and hard for their heroines, no cheating, and ALWAYS a guaranteed happily ever after.

Eliza was born and raised in Colorado, so many of her stories are set in small mountain towns and reflect aspects of her lived experiences. Although romance literature is her first love, she also enjoys writing poetry and historical fiction. She currently lives in Denver with her husband and two dogs, and is happy to be realizing a lifelong dream of publishing her written work. When she’s not writing, she can be found reading, hiking, or doing yoga.

Wow what can I say! I absolutely loved this book! Will is just amazing with Lana! We all need a Will in our life! The ending! Omg I had a tear 🥲. Such a beautiful book.

A fantastic story line and amazingly written by the amazing Eliza rockwood ❤️ I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!!

This book is pretty short, so I understand things had to move quickly in this relationship, but it almost moved too fast. It's sweet and a little spicy. If you want a shorter, quick moving romance, this would he a good one to pick up.

This was so cute and such a great start to Hideaway Mountain, although I highly recommend reading the novelette that comes first (The Grump of Hideaway Mountain) but they are all interconnected standalones.

This novella in particular was fun, fast-paced and full of a great plot, lovely characters and a healthy portion of spicy romance! I loved Flora and Will's relationship and how they navigated any problems they faced, giving each other space to process while also not abandoning each other and always reconnecting.

I just adore Will and Flora's romance story and how hard and fast Will fell for Flora!

Flora has carried more loss than most, losing her parents early, followed by her grandparents. She’s poured her heart into running her family’s pub at Hideaway Mountain and seeks comfort in nature, never daring to open her heart again. But when a celebrity agent reaches out asking if she’ll host his client at the inn attached to her pub, Flora reluctantly agrees.

Enter Will, a typecasted romance actor reeling from heartbreak and done with Hollywood drama. Seeking solace and a chance to finally focus on writing screenplays, he escapes to Hideaway Mountain. From the moment he walks into Flora’s pub, the connection is electric.

Flora can’t imagine why a man like Will would be interested in her when he’s surrounded by stunning women in the entertainment industry. Meanwhile, Will knows Flora is the one—but he’s holding back secrets of his own. Will their undeniable attraction be enough to overcome fear, doubt, and hidden truths?

I loved getting to know both of their backstories, the way their chemistry smoldered despite the walls they built, and how beautifully their romance unfolded. Once they let go of fear, their passion burned HOT!

Another heartfelt, swoony, and emotional novella from Eliza that left me smiling.

I’m really sorry I so wanted to love this book but I just felt that it seemed a bit unbelievable that Will was a new comer to the small town and by like chapter 2 he was totally in love with flora and calling her “my girl”. I know it’s a insta love story and I understand how it works and I do like the trope but this just seemed a bit too unbelievable. I also felt that Flora was prone to jumping to conclusions a lot which annoyed me a little. As well I also felt there was some miscommunication going on.

It also felt rushed in the sense of they only knew each other for like 2 weeks and he asked her to marry him??????????

Edit: just because it wasn’t for me doesn’t mean that it won’t be perfect for someone else x

This short read was perfect for the plot, she set. From Will trying to escape for some quiet R&R because being a famous actor it’s not as cracked up as it seems to be . When his agent calls Flora, who runs the family inn on hideaway mountain and asks her to shutdown the inn for the off-season. however, she has a hard time saying no with the absurd amount of money she’s offered. She has made this story, flow perfectly and easy to follow along. But by the end of every book you are left to yearn for more.

Spicy, relatable characters, Colorado setting which is awesome since thats my home state! and an overall enjoyable read.

If you are looking for a insta love adventure then look no farther. Actor comes to town and falls madly in love with a local girl and never wants to leave. They both are shielding their hearts but know deep down their is an instant attraction they can't deny. It's a short story so can be read in one setting. Happy Reading Everyone!

This is a sweet and spicy novella by @author_elizarockwood 💕

Will is an actor, who needs to escape and so leaves for Hideaway Mountain, where he meets Inn keeper manager, Flora- she has idea who he is.

This is such a cute and saucy novella, and I am all here for some Will and Flora. Their romance was ridiculously hot and I loved Will’s infatuation with everything Flora. She was really cute and charming, and her pull towards Will was just scorching.

I really enjoyed the forced proximity, small town and instant-love tropes and I looking forward to my ARC of His Hidden Star (Hideaway Valley Fire Series Book 1).
