After meeting Opal the Ox, Ling Ling is delighted to hear of how Opal first encountered the Good Shepherd. Opal tells an epic tale of a predator and peril, with an unlikely friendship being forged in the end.
A story of an ox a lamb and a rat. The lamb meets the ox and he tells him a story about making friends with a tiger. The lamb got excited about the tiger and wants to meet him too. It ends on a cliffhanger wanting you to want to read more. I think the illustrations could be brighter and more engaging to go with the story. But that’s just my personal opinion. It was a lovely story.
My children and I really enjoyed reading this story about the ox from the Chinese zodiac. They especially enjoyed the unique art style, and I loved the lesson on kindness. We are looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series to learn more about the other animals.
I have read the rat one. I thought the rat is going to meet the Ox and continue until the end of the zodiac animals. But the story of an Ox is totally on its own journey which is nice and unique story for each animal. It is engaging story and perfect for kids at any age. Whether the parents read it to them or they can read on their own especially grade levels kid.
A lovely story with a farmer and an ox in need of assistance. When their lives are threatened and unexpected stranger full of kindness helps. My daughter delighted in this tale.
