There's something I absolutely love about this book. I mean, it's such an interesting concept! Each page features a dream title and a picture to illustrate it. The picture looks like one thing in the light, but once you turn the light out, another glow-in-the-dark side of the illustration is revealed. The illustrations are simple and quiet and a little bit haunting, and I love the idea of actually lying in bed at night, looking at a dream on a page and hoping to have the dream in your head once you fall asleep. I think I'll have to actually try it out...
This is amazing! You set up the book beneath a light before going to bed, then turn out the light and stare at the glow in the dark imagination starters and they're supposed to spark your dreams... I haven't tested it yet, but I wouldn't mind dreaming some of the scenarios...
A book for dreamers, both the night and day variety. The physical manifestation of this book is exquisite, and yet reaches into imagination as if made of nothing more than delectable fluff. I would rank this book up with If You're Afraid the Dark, Remember the Night Rainbow by Cooper Edens. While I have recently been reading and enjoying the format of e-Books, this is one text that needs to be flipped through, felt with fingertips, and held under a bright light. The edition that I read (Nocturno: Recetario de sueños) is also written in my heart's language -- Español. So, turn the light on and then..."Apaga la luz!"
With 12 pencil and pattern collage illustrations that glow in the dark, this lovely book offers inspirations for dreaming. Many of the dreams explore familiar territory such as dreaming about a door that shouldn't be opened and dreaming about someone else. There's even a place to sketch your own dream, leaving the imaginative possibilities wide open.
