If you need a quick read and you feel like being emotional, this one is for you. I highlighted so many poems that resonated with me. It was melancholic and sentimental that I can’t pick a favorite. I like it a lot and finished it in one sitting.

"She did not mind.
He did not matter.
There it was—
Mind over matter."

Poetries can heal, they have a unique way to touch your soul and leave behind a parmanent imprint. And when it reflects your thoughts and emotions they create small little sparkles in your mind as if to say, "yes I can relate to this." 'Jasmines In Her Hair' in a way touches the heart and resonates those feelings through its profound and evocative poetries rendering the readers spellbound.

"You had me at that smile,
You lost me when you gave up on that last mile "

'Jasmines In Her Hair' is a collection of poetries exploring the vivid dynamics of human experiences, love, loss, heartbreak, grief but most importantly the resilient and recollective mind. This book with its simple lines yet intricately woven sentiments, generated longing in me, longing for more primal senses and longing for emotional satisfaction. What I liked about this book is I cannot stop reading it until I reached the end, and even though I completed the book in one go, I was left with yearning for more. The poet emphasises on how important it is to learn from the past and then let it go even though his own mind betrayed this sense repeatedly. Throughout the book this feeling is evident.

Even though some of the poetries did not resonate with me, I felt connected to the writing. Would have loved small illustrations accompanied by the poems. I enjoyed a wonderful evening reading this book with a cuppa in my hand. Recommended to poetry lovers.

Jasmines in her hair is a collection of soul-stirring poetry that takes the reader on a journey of love, intimacy, loss, healing, hope and self-discovery.

With segmentation of seven stages of emotional complexities, the poems explores a wide range of hues ranging from the feelings of blooming love, subtle moments of affections, heart's desire to make forever a reality, the distance that encroaches when silence so loud and shattering makes everything fall apart, heartbreak that creeps with memories stitched over time and learning to find you way back to your true self, finding the love that never ends. Each section provides a gentle reminder that your heartfelt emotions nutures a part of yourself that has been lost in the chaos of life. They are not your weakness, these vulnerabilities are your authentic connection to yourself to feel, nuture and honor them, that's what makes you who you are.

With eloquence and sincerity, the poems convey the importance of letting go of past hurts and embracing new experiences that revitalize our capacity to love. These poems will have an ever lasting impression and will serve as a reminder to believe in love and at the same time focus on yourself too.

This was a romantic poetry book with themes of sensuality, care, love, ache, heartbreak, hope & society's reactions to it.

As a romance reader who also likes poetry, this was amazing to read & enjoyed the variety of poems in this. The lengths of the poem ranged from short few liners to long ones that took 2 pages.

The writing was simplistic yet elegant, some telling stories & some even having deep lessons. It was interesting to see some of the poems get sensual, I haven't ever read poetry like that!

This book had a rollercoaster of feelings throughout the expressions of love, which was a pleasant surprise. This was lovely! Solid 4.5 Stars ⭐, easily read in a couple of hours!

Thanks to the organizer & the fabulous author for my paperback review copy.

Poems are the lyrical way to express any emotion and thoughts. I have read many poetry related to love, life and heartbreak and here comes the next. Everytime I reread poem I get different meanings from it and that's what makes the poems so beautiful and worth reading. The rhythm of the book fits perfectly. And this collection of poetry was so good to read. This book fits my all expectations of a good poetry book along with beautiful choice of title and cover which is kind of cute and aesthetic. This book is beautiful to look and hold in your hands, so does the poems inside this book. Each poem in this book is crafted very well. I loved how author wrote the poems in single language but has beautiful and thoughtful meaning in it. This book is really blending and expressive at the same time. I loved the feel it gave me when I was reading it. The poems are heartfelt and warm to read. The way they are presented is so good. All the poems are well penned and consists of good vocabulary.

And here comes the most beautiful poem from this beautiful book:
" "I am sorry, we are out of tune",
She said.

Then why are you
The only song stuck in my head? "

My thoughts:
This book takes me on a captivating journey through the profound themes of love, heartbreak, self-love, rediscovery, and regeneration. The author skillfully combines his personal introspection with the power of language to explore the multifaceted nature of love.

One of the things that stands out about this book is the way it encourages us to cherish each relationship and express gratitude for the role they play in our journey. It beautifully captures the liberating aspect of letting go of our past and finding joy in discovering someone who rejuvenates our capacity to love.

The poems in this collection anchor the essence of love in integrity, intimacy, kindness, understanding, and consistency. Each poem is a heartfelt exploration of these qualities, leaving a lasting impact on us . It's incredible how words on a page can evoke such deep emotions, and it's no surprise that some chapters even brought tears in my eyes while reading.

I just finished reading this poetry collection, and I wanted to share my thoughts with you all. The book is a mix of heartwarming and intense emotions offering its own unique perspective on love, self-discovery, and more.

"Self-Love" really stood out to me. The line "I saw what you did there but I loved myself too much to care" felt like a powerful reminder of the importance of self-worth and self-respect. It’s a reminder that, no matter what others do, our own love for ourselves should always come first. 💖

Another one that really touched my heart was "Save Me from Me". The way the poem describes the struggle to free oneself from inner turmoil and the haunting echoes of past experiences is so relatable. The plea to “save me, from me” felt so raw and real—it’s a beautiful expression of our internal battles and the hope for self-liberation.

While I loved these moments, I have to say that not every poem resonated with me as deeply. Some were a bit hit or miss, and I found that a few didn’t quite capture the same emotional intensity as others. But, poetry is so personal, right?
What touches one heart might not touch another in the same way. 🌈

The moment I saw some excerpts from this poetry collection, I knew I had to have it.
And @kalpeshdesai.official was so generous to send it to me , digitally signed with the most heartfelt words.

The moment I read :
" 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐭
𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐧'𝐭 " 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 ",
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 " 𝐍𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭"
I was done for !!! They spoke to me and I resonated with them on a personal level.
And with every single verse, poem, meter, rhyme, and stanza I fell harder.

Love, loss and everything in between, Kalpesh Desai made sure to make me feel every single thing the fullest.
So grateful and thankful I got to read this masterpiece 🥰.

I won this in a Goodreads giveaway. Honestly, the poetry was fine, I just think it wasn't my cup of tea. Perhaps it's just where I am in my own personal phase of life, but most of these poems just didn't resonate with me and I struggled to get through it. That said, this book wasn't written for me, so I'm sure there are many out there that will find comfort and inspiration from this book!

'Jasmines In Her Hair : Poetry for the soul' by Kalpesh Desai discovers through his poems the themes of love - Love, Heartbeat and the Grief that follows. The poems felt like a gentle touch to the heart with deep meaning. These indeed are poetry for the soul as they felt a comforting touch to the heart and soul as I read them.

I loved all the poems. The book is divided into several parts including - Prelude, Yesterday's Embers, Resilience, Rediscovery, Memories, Serendipity, and Alchemy.
The poems are expertly shaped into words of comfort by the author.
I would love to share some parts of some of the favourite poems -
• Young love
We made promises that we couldn't keep,
and try to soar before we could leap
And now that the years have passed by,
we have built those walls, wide and high.
• It was Time
We existed in conversations we've never had before.
I had loved me less to love you more.

The language used is lucid and easy. It was a great journey through the poet's life - first love, to a heartbreak, to the finding of a soulmate, and waiting for them. It was a romantic ride of emotions. I found myself weeping several times while going through the poems. The poems are relatable and felt very very personal, I absolutely adore Desai's writing style. It's a must read from my side.

Poems are quite close to my heart! I like writing them and love indulging in reading them very often.
Poems are a form of sophisticated art. They describe deep emotions in only a few lines and take us on a ride without even literally travelling. Kalpesh Desai's " Jasmines In Her Hair: Poetry For The Soul " is a poetic adventure that immerses readers into the intricate landscape of emotions within relationships.

The book is mainly divided into mainly seven parts i.g
Prelude , Yesterday’s Embers , Resilience , Rediscovery, Memories , Serendipity , Alchemy. However, all the sections carriers it's own emotions.

Few of my favourite lines from the poem " There's something about you, " is " There's something about you,
That makes me want to hold you tight,
To sink into your eyes, Hold you in my arms,
Make your days ever so bright. "
Amazing vocabulary, beautifully penned down, I really
recommend this poetry to all... Hats off to the poet.

Love immortalized through the written word—a timeless masterpiece that magnifies a grateful heart

I’ve been reading Kalpesh Desai’s poetry for quite some time now and it’s always been impactful, riveting and genuine as his pieces offer great wisdom and important life lessons. His debut poetry book, Jasmines In Her Hair: Poetry For The Soul revealed to me a side of him that’s exceptionally evocative as well, this time, in expressing his innermost thoughts and feelings of love and gratitude, with a profound truth that comes from a very deep place in his soul. To know his heart through this book is a gift.

Too often we think of poetry as something complex when, in reality, it is simply about seeing with your heart readily open to the inevitable emotions that it brings, be it you as the poet, or as the muse. To read Jasmines In Her Hair is to see these emotions that Kalpesh has delicately painted through the written word, and to view the world through his eyes is a privilege that I’m grateful for. As I’ve gone through each chapter, my heart took me to places where he may have been, and my soul found love and grace hidden amidst rhyming lines and free verses—so hauntingly beautiful in its raw honesty and truest emotions, firmly rooted in his faith in love, integrity, compassion, accountability, courage and devotion. This lovely and rich collection, penned in an incredible and vastly unique style, truly epitomizes the beauty and musicality of language. Known to be the poetry for the soul, to me, it is the soul of poetry.

Anyone who reads this book may find themselves being transported into the scenes where each poem ushers you to introspection or complete surrender to real emotions, allowing yourself to fully feel them as his words reinvigorate your heart and soul. His exquisitely crafted poems moved me deeply that this collection has become my ultimate favorite poetry book.

Kalpesh has successfully immortalized love in the most beautiful way—through this wonderful testament to his brilliant mind, grateful heart and loving soul.

I wholeheartedly recommend this fascinating collection to everyone who wanted nothing more than to love and be loved—to be seen, heard and held. This is for every soul who believes that love lifts us, embraces us and heals us, especially when sadness, happiness, pain, pleasure, heartbreak and joy, among other things, are accepted with gratitude, knowing that each encounter in life is part of the master plan that provides a route to finding love again—leading us home. This timeless masterpiece surely magnifies a grateful heart, making the journey worthwhile.

"We existed in the conversations we've never had before. I had loved me less to love me more."

Firstly, the first impressions of course, love the minimal cover of the book💛.
The book is divided into 7 major sections, each with a beautiful abstract doodle and few poems related to the title of the section, on various themes like love, heartbreak, self-love, rediscovery and regeneration which were amazing to read, written with depth, felt with the same. 💕
I can't choose a fav section/poem as ofc every page was beautiful in it's own sense❤
I was seeing this book a lot everywhere and was excited to read it🤍.
I've recently started enjoying poetry and I loved reading this one💘. We all know how it is so difficult to understand or relate with a poetry book but that wasn't the case with this one which makes it beginner friendly as well 💖.

If you love reading poetry, you'll def enjoy it and if you're a beginner to reading poetry, you must def pick this up🌻.

I was sent this book by the author and I was honestly so excited to…

1- receive a book from an author directly
2- to read some poetry since I have been making it a core focus to read more of it this year
3- to support a fellow resident and expat who had been living in UAE for over a decade

I think I have to start by saying that I am probably not the right kind of reader who should be reviewing this work. I read mostly classical works of literature and have just recently started reading more modern works.

With that being said, I tried to keep an open mind while reading these poems and have to admit that i did not enjoy them at all. Some of the themes were too “adult” for my liking and the majority of the poems did not resonate with me.

There are a few I did enjoy though. Poems titled ‘Young Love’, ‘Maybe, I Am Not Too Much’, ‘Unread’ and ‘Wisdom’ were very enjoyable to read.

I wish the author all the best with his future works and am glad to have read a lot of positive reviews for this work by other readers.

"Some poems are meant to be read, others are meant to be lived."
That's what I felt reading this book.

Jasmines in Her Hair by Kalpesh Desai is a heartfelt collection that tenderly explores love, heartbreak, healing, and rediscovery. Through seven beautifully arranged sections, Desai captures the many shades of emotion with sincerity and lyrical grace. His words feel intimate, almost like personal letters, making it easy to connect deeply with each piece. Themes of gratitude, letting go, and the joy of loving again flow through the verses. Poems like Slumber, The Many Ways I Love You, and Treasure linger long after reading. A soothing, soul-nourishing book for anyone seeking comfort, reflection, and the quiet beauty of love’s journey.

Those three little words that matter aren’t "I Love You," but "No Matter What."

From the moment I started reading Jasmines in Her Hair, I knew annotating it would be impossible—because every single word deserves to be highlighted. By the third poem, I already had goosebumps.

Poetry has never been my genre, mainly because I’ve never quite grasped how to connect with it. But Jasmines in Her Hair is my first-ever poetry collection, and it has completely blown me away. I’m in awe of how so much emotion can be conveyed with so few words.

I wanted to pick a favorite, but honestly, I couldn’t. Poems like Unspoken Desires, Find Me in Your Photographs, Unwritten Books, Tiredness, The Last Chapter, and No Excuses—each one left a lasting impression. Every poem is intense, beautiful, thought-provoking, and passionate.

I’m so grateful for the chance to read this book. Though it’s my first poetry collection, Jasmines in Her Hair has left such a mark that it certainly won’t be my last. I received a review copy in exchange for an honest review, and I couldn’t be more thankful for this rare gem of a book.

Thank you, Kalpesh sir, for making me fall in love with poetry.

Jasmine in her hair is a collection of poems regarding both being in love and being out of love. I would say a quick read but it is not for me because I somehow resonate with each poems that I read as turn the pages.

Had a lot of thinking when I started this book and was absolutely mind blown by how much I can relate to some poem. Everything is so heartbreaking that it torned me some yet it also brings this joy I know and feel when I was too in love with someone. I can’t tell when was the last time I read a book where it felt rather it was written for me.

This is an exquisite collection of poetry that shows the author's ability to translate emotions into words of breathtaking beauty. From the first poem to the last, I was utterly mesmerized by the sheer brilliance of the writing.

The beauty of the poems themselves took my breath away. The language was rich and evocative, painting vivid images in my mind with every line. I found myself completely lost in the rhythm and cadence of the words, swept away by their power and grace.

But perhaps what impressed me most was the range of emotions explored within the collection. From the soaring heights of joy to the crushing depths of despair, the author fearlessly delved into the full spectrum of human experience, leaving no stone unturned. It was a testament to their skill as a poet and their profound understanding of the human condition.

It is a masterpiece of poetry that deserves to be celebrated. Its author has a rare gift for transforming feelings into words and weaving them into tapestries of unparalleled beauty. I recommend this book highly enough to anyone who appreciates the power of poetry to move the soul.

"You are the Storm to my Quiet'', imagine how genius, soulful, and vulnerable the entire compilation of poems in this book would be if a single phrase from the second page sounds like this! "Jasmines in her Hair" comes out as a brilliant Anthology of Poems divided into seven basic segments, that make you go through the various stages of love, starting from the first instances of seeking your soulmate, to the language of love, loss, pain, reconciliation, dilemma, rediscovery, serendipity, and Alchemy. The poems get an upgrade as you embark on a new segment as if the poet walks you through his own journey of first hints of love, wounds of heartbreak, reconciliation, self-discovery, and finding love again. "Love Language, and Lilith", were two of my favorite poems from the prelude segment. The next segment "Yesterday Ember's" may stir a chord in your neck, if you feel the intensity of words between his couplet and quatrains of heartbreak, loss, and void. "I've run out of Alibis", is a poem that needs to be framed separately and presented. The entire segment is RAW & BRUTALLY REAL!
Sharing one poem:
"Maybe, I'm not too much.
Maybe, you've just been used to too little.
Much like those
Who walk with a crutch, find the ground too fickle"
.
The reason why I have sheer respect for the poet is because he didn't defame any gender, he was very subtle and disciplined with his use of language and verbose. I often find people taking out their angst on a particular person by generalizing an entire gender, and I kept on searching if the poet had made any such remarks, but he was chivalrous with his poems, and nor did he end up blaming anyone in the tricky situations of life. "Save me from me", and "It was Time", etched their words around my soul, they were so profound with their meaning of pain and heart-clutching anxiety expressed majestically. In the segment of Rediscovery, the author tries to mend the broken hearts by weaving a new journey of self-consciousness, higher awareness, and stability to hold, setting oneself free from the old rotten roots of hurts and upsets, while looking at the road ahead. "She is Art", has to be one of the literary masterpieces for me. I consider a book heavily successful when the author accomplishes his desire by transforming and weaving his words into meaningful prose or phrase, that hits the reader at a peculiar point. If a book doesn't touch you, connect with you at some point, or leave you with something to ponder upon, or something meaningful indeed, then how would you describe the success of that book?

This is one of the best poetry books I have been through, and believe me, I have read quite a lot of good ones. The author has refrained from using any kind of gender agenda, on the contrary, he has tried to seek a clearer and more stable version of love, and instead of leaving his readers with broken hearts and moist eyes, he has taught lessons that he has embarked on, the wisdom that comes with pain, and a journey of renewing ourselves for self-discovery, and then he leaves you with a sight of beautiful hope. With one of his poems of his last segment "No matter what", he said it all. As you make your way through the last pages of the book, you'll realize that the poet has left you in a state of solace, and reminded the young, old, the ones in love, the ones yearning for love, the ones caught up in a fight, all about the 'universal code of love', it's fate and struggle, and by the end, he leaves you refreshed, as his book rekindles a new hope inside you, and thereby, you know that a seasoned poet must have carved his soul out with his bleeding pen throughout the years, to form this anthology with well-divided segments, that take a linear pathway of the flow of love, it's end, and a new beginning. Now that is what you call mature poetry.

"It's not what you deserve, that you get,
It's what you're willing to accept."
Every poem from this book touched my heart, my soul, and my brain and filled me with so much joy and overwhelm.
The author didn't lie when in the title he wrote, 'poetry for soul.'
This poetry book literally healed my soul in a way I didn't know it was possible.
Poetry is something that I connect with and I absolutely love and I could not be more glad that I read this book.
I cannot exaggerate enough how much I love it, but surely I'll start crying in explaining how much I love it.
I was constantly smiling and giggling like a little kid all the time while I was reading it and I was not able to fall asleep without finishing this book.
I completed reading this book in one sitting and loved every bit of it.
The author beautifully portrayed love and heartbreak with his words.
The author weaves love, heartbreak and rhymes into this one poetry book.
There are books that you read and poetries that you read and then there are books and poetries that you read which stay with you your entire life, I think this was that book for me.
I know I will keep re-reading the book and won't get bored even for a second.
Usually, people say poetries are boring and the same old same old, but this one was something else. Even if you don't like poetries TRUST ME you'll fall in love with poetries and books after reading this one book.
I devoured this book and I'm sad that it got over so quickly but I know I can re-read it because it's poetry for the soul.
If you're a beginner, a reader, or a person who loves poetry or wants to find their next read, then pick this book. It is fantastic!
I'm short on words about how much I loved it, this book has made me speechless with its beautiful poetries.
Absolutely loved it! Definitely recommended.
