A very captivating read. Mother Teresa had an encounter with God, fell in love with God and then set out to serve Him with her whole life. She captures the essence of serving God with your entire, heart, soul, mind and strength. She also gives us a very real working story that plays out the Parable of the Good Samaritan over and over and over again. How could one small woman bring such a monumental change to our world? Well, it was through living out the love of God in all that she did.

Mother Teresa truly embodied Philippians 2:3-4, "Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." Her work with the poor and indignant really shows your love of God. She is truly one person who demonstrates through her life what she truly believes in her heart about God.

The book is one that you will enjoy. I believe that it could have used a bit more editing as there are sections that seem to need to be cleaned up and trimmed a bit. But it will not annoy you too much. What might annoy you more is the fact that the author seems to be on a quest to discover what the root of Mother Teresa's convictions are. But she seems to not fully get it at times. Mother Teresa has a love relationship with God. The author seems to have a more inclusive relationship that holds on to God as well as other things she considers spiritual but that don't seem to conform with scripture.

But with that said the book will keep you interested. You will learn, you will understand and you will catch a glimpse of what Love truly is.

Enjoy!

This was an amazing recount of Christina Steven's time in the 90's when she traveled to Calcutta to interview Mother Theresa. An incredible journey, and so inspiring.

The Joy Of Loving Is In The Joy of Sharing

My tears by the Wailing Wall turned into dancing after reading Christina Stevens "Love: The Saint and the Seeker"

It all began with Chapter One: Living A Privileged Life.

Was it living a privileged life and the acquisitive spirit that led Christina to India to film Mother Teresa?

If this were true, Christina would not have humbly accepted to play herself as the chief protagonist.

She takes her readers on an adventure of self discovery up in an airplane and down in a submarine,

I loved every minute of it.

This is what it felt like to be Christina as a child ballerina trying to dance around her parents alcoholism.

As an adult chid of an alcoholic, I too began to walk in Christina's ballerina slippers in sitting with the dying woman of Calcutta who refused my help and didn't want to be bathed.

I too sat with the suicidal woman volunteer. Not even helping the dying people of India could save her.

I too sat with Mother Teresa who with a twinkle in her eye told Christina come "Let us do something together for God"

The twinkle in both of their eyes led to 20 million dollars of air time after Mother Teresa agreed to being filmed.

This was her message that went out to the world.

"The joy of loving is in the joy of sharing. When my people are hungry for bread, I give them a piece of bread and have solved their difficulty. But when they are hungry for love, lonely, unwanted and unloved, it takes very tender compassion, understanding and love. And where does this love come begin? In our own family. And it's so beautiful that love begins at home and it can spread like a burning fire from house to house. And by loving one another, we can spread throughout the world peace, joy, unity and love"

God Bless You Mother Teresa and God Bless Christina Stevens for loving herself by coming out of hiding and "being the one" to tell her story!

This book had no focus and simply veered from topic to topic, which was frustrating for me. Also, it had very, very little to do with Mother Theresa, and was primarily about the author herself, so the title was misleading.

This wasn't quite what I was expecting. I honestly thought it was about Mother Teresa...maybe more along the lines of a biography. It was still a good read, just not what I was expecting.
